“Our now 5-month-old puppy was so excited to be back at Sarah's. He immediately started playing with Rip and Mayla, and he was still playing with them when I came to pick him up three days later. It makes me happy knowing how much he loves being there. And I appreciate knowing that Sarah gives him the same love, care, and attention as she does her own two dogs. (It was also great that he was exhausted for the next day and a half after we got home haha.)”

“Stacy welcomed my dog into her house and treated him as her own. Rudy loved playing and snuggling with her family! She communicated well and made sure she understood his needs. I will use Stacy again.”

About: Friendly, warm, and welcoming. I have plenty of indoor and outdoor space to roam in my home plus a fenced in backyard. I've had dogs in the home since I was child and have been caring full-time for my dog for 7 years. I have previous experience with in-home boarding for some of my co-workers and have cared for dogs with nervous bladders. I currently work full time, but am always home in the evenings for plenty of playtime and walks. I can be flexible with pick up and drop off times with at least a day's notice to work with your schedule. I have a fenced in yard and plenty of space to roam inside my home. Dogs are welcome on the furniture or in bed if they need some extra cuddle time. I can crate your dogs if needed during the day and my own pup is crate trained for while I'm away.
“Heather and her family welcomed Darcy back to their home with open arms. She sent photos of Darcy throughout her stay so we could see how she was doing. She looked so happy and comfortable in their home. This was her second stay and we’ve already booked another. We are so grateful to have found this home away from home for Darcy!”

“Tessa has been an absolute delight and I'm so glad to have trusted her with my Trixie. She helped celebrate Trixie's birthday and took her on so many walks and ample outside time! Highly recommend Tessa (and Tennessee)!”

“Last minute booking and sitter was super accommodating! Kept me posted with pics and videos. I felt super comfortable and that my pup was in good hands as soon as I walked in the door! Highly highly recommend!”

About: I've been a dog owner for as long as I can remember. I currently have one nine year old Chihuahua mix on seizure medicine twice a day. We have a fenced in yard with a chain link fence perfect for letting your dog run around. I am usually up by 5am to go for a run or cycle. I work from home regularly so I can be flexible with letting the dogs out. I have a fenced in yard with one friendly dog of my own to keep your dog company. I have cameras in the home to keep an eye on the pups if I do need to run out.
“Rosie was happy when I picked her up. The next morning she was back to her usual self. With some other sitters, it can take one to three days for her to be back to her usual self. So just from that I’d say Alyssa did a nice job.”

“Carnegie and Paisley always love their time with Ryan, Krista and family! They had so much and we always know they are in the best care. They treat C and P like family. 😊”

“Val and his wife were able to take our dog, Ollie, on very short notice. They were kind, knowledgeable, and took excellent care of our family member while we were gone. They provided frequent updates on how our dog was doing through near-daily texts and photos. If we ever have to leave our dog with a sitter in the future, they will be our first choice.”

“My sweet anxious girl had the BEST time with Derek and Yoki. I usually spend a good deal of time worried when I'm out of town, but this time I was really able to be fully present on my trip. They took such good care of her and I could tell how much they genuinely care about the dogs staying with them. She had so much fun playing with the other dogs and clearly got her fix of human time too. She literally didn't want to leave which is the highest honor she can give. Thanks so much!!”

“Brad communicates clearly and in an extremely timely fashion. His price is affordable. Easy drop off and pick up in a beautiful area. My dog came out extremely happy after her stay with Brad!! I will definitely be booking again in the future.”

“Margaret took excellent care of our new rescue for a 2 day boarding. She was super easy to communicate with and responded quickly, sent regular updates, pictures, and videos, and clearly goes the extra mile to make sure your dog is well cared for. We will 100% be booking with her in the future for any dog sitting needs!”

“Shawn was great! Sent picture updates and Caspian looked so happy and relaxed! He was super flexible and even worked with me as I needed to have a friend pick Cas for scheduling reasons. Thank you Shawn!”

“Hannah and family were amazing! It was clear from the pictures she shared that they felt safe and happy while we were away. Hannah sent lots of pictures and was so easy to communicate with. We already have another reservation booked with her!!”

About: My husband and I are frequently taking care of our grand pups! Both 4 years old. We treat them like our own. One’s a chocolate lab, the other is a dachshund. I am an early riser. I get my morning exercise done then am pretty free the rest of the day. With the exception of an occasional appointment here and there. We do not have a fenced yard but would do daily walks. We have a path near our home. We also have lots of dog toys.
“Remy had an amazing stay! He's a little special because of his tummy issues, so it is very hard for me to leave him at all, but it's just a little easier knowing he's in caring hands. Thank you so much for all of the photos and updates. I really appreciate all that you did to make him comfortable. Remy sends his love!”

“Wanqing was so great with our pup, Gimli (a one year old shih tzu/bichon mix). She sent us updates every day and kept him very active and entertained! I think he was sad to leave her and his new buddy, Tucker ☺️ We will definitely bring him to her in the future!”

“Amy was awesome!!! We were so grateful to know that our little dog was in such capable and loving hands while we were on vacation. She was very communicative and provided great updates. We will definitely book with her again!!! Thanks Amy!!! 💕🐾”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Charlie Bluff
I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog Winnie received. It was her very first time staying at someone else’s home for several days in a row, and she was welcomed with so much warmth and kindness. I felt completely at ease while being out of state, knowing she was in such good hands. Winnie was treated like family, and I could tell she was comfortable, happy, and well loved the entire time. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. I will absolutely be booking again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Charlie Bluff home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Charlie Bluff.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Charlie Bluff sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
