About: I love animals, being around them playing with them and making them feel as if they were at there own home, and making sure they are happy and comfortable. I’m a stay at home mom, I bring my daughter on walks and sometimes go to the park, we like to stay home sometimes and just chill out on colder days. I like to play with dogs and my baby loves the company of dogs, I can crate them when needed if that’s how you do things, I’d keep them on there schedule that they would normally have at home.

“Ashley and her family took such amazing care of our two dogs when we went on vacation! The girls had the best time with her! She treated them as her own! We will definitely be using her again if we ever need a dog sitter in the future! Thank you again Ashely! You’re the best!”

About: There have been at least dogs in my home my entire life. Even before I could talk, there was a family dog and my dad's hunting dogs around me from the time I was born. I received my first dog when I was seven and when I left for college, I got my first dog on my own and made sure that all of his healthcare was up-to-date and preventative instead of reactive. Ever since I was nine, I also lived on a farm in northern SD, so I also have experience with horses, cows, outdoor cats, bunnies, sheep, and hunting dogs. Since my graduation in 2007, I have owned dogs and ferrets but my friends tend to ask me to take care of their animals, so I also have experience with birds, indoor cats, sugar gliders, and bearded dragons. With dogs, I have the most experience with the following breeds due to owning them at some point in my life: poodles, dachshunds, corgis, and shiba inus. My family and friends have allowed me to also get experience with great danes, bloodhounds, golden retrievers, german short-hairs, brittany spaniels, rotties, pitties, bernadoodles, aussiedoodles, beagles, shitzus, and mixed breeds. I have a professional-grade washing station in my downstairs bathroom (my husband and I own the house we live in) and I brush my dogs' teeth every other day. I have administered subcutaneous injections to pets (dogs, cats, and horses) and everyday I ply our particularly picky shibas with vitamins and/or medication. If your pet has any special needs, do not hesitate to ask me as I there is a good chance I am already familiar with it. If not, care details from you will be strictly followed. In December 2021, I had a stroke that compromised my vision (double when I am not focusing on something and blurred on the sides), my balance (I am allowed to walk places but cannot run/jog yet but maybe someday), and my energy (I cannot be go-go-go 6-8 hours during the day but have more than enough energy to devote to pets in bursts). Although I graduated with my law degree in 2017, my "day job" is substitute teaching in the Sioux Falls school district and I work with kids aged 6-18 and am most often assisting special needs children. If you are interested in dog daycare, then he or she will be just included in part of the shiba pack that I have. Someone will be home with them at all times unless there is an emergency, as my husband works from home and I only have to run errands a couple times a week. If you are interested in overnight, I try to stay close to whatever routine has been established both in my home or yours. My pups sleep in our bed with us, but larger dogs likely won't fit. We have large dog beds to offer, but they sometimes like their own crate because it feels safe to them. If you are more interested in me coming to your home to take care of your dog, I will visit the home at 8:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 8:00 pm unless you have preferences. Other pets have schedules and needs that are vastly different, so it would be a negotiating thing. My friends call me the crazy pet lady because I love pets of all shapes and sizes, even if I am limited in what I can have myself. My husband consistently reminds me that Sioux Falls has a legal limit to how many animals you own, or I would probably have all the animals. I also like to keep owners up-to-date on their animals and take pictures/videos of their babies every visit. My pack of shibas are spoiled, so I'm not sure if my care is normal or "extra", but any dog that enters my space would have the same care. I know that my knowledge is limited for other pets and so care/spoiling is only within the parameters set by the owners. The pack is let outside to a completely fenced in yard around 8:00 am, again at noon, and then whenever they would like until their last outing around bedtime at 10:00 pm. Treats that are either homemade or meat-based (predominantly because my middle shiba is picky) are offered with most outings, as my youngest has come to expect it. Every other day, they get their teeth brushed but they actually look forward to it ever since I switched to a toothpaste they seem to love. Then they get cosequin every night for their joints. The two older shibas are fed once in the morning and once in the evening, while the youngest is freefed.

Jesse F.
“Jesse has been watching my Millie for the last 7 years. My husband and I like to travel and unfortunately, many places we go, Millie can't come. So, Millie stays in Jesse's home. She's like a member of the family. I never have to worry about her care. Jesse's dogs are very social and get along well with Millie. I also give Millie supplements and Jesse makes sure to give them daily. She also gives Millie baths when needed and will trim her nails (which Millie never lets me do). And, she sends me pictures and videos while I'm gone. I strongly recommend Jesse for your pet care needs.”
