“Julia did a wonderful job caring for my two cats for five days. She’s very knowledgeable about cat behavior and kept me updated with messages and pictures, which gave me great peace of mind. She was also kind, flexible, and easy to communicate with. I would definitely book her again!”

“Tracey was a wonderful dog sitter and took great care of our hound dog mix. Tracey’s home was very comfortable for our pup and we can see that she got lots of love and attention. Our dog was happy to see us when we came to pick her up but she wasn’t at all stressed or upset, as she has been when we have boarded her at local vets or boarding facilities. I really think she enjoyed her time with Tracey. Tracey sent pics and feedback several times during our 2-day trip so we were never worried about how our pup was doing. We will definitely rebook with her again if she’s available.”

“Mary was the best! She took such good care of my Lucy. Made her feel loved and comfortable. It is so comforting to know that my Lucy was so happy with Mary! I will definitely be looking to Mary to watch her again!”

“Duke had a great time with Chris, Dan and their pups! Would definitely recommend and would schedule with them again while we are visiting my parents in Illinois.”

“Samantha is such a kind-hearted, knowledgeable, and accommodating dog sitter! She sent me so many wonderful pictures while my pup stayed with her and it was obvious that he got spoiled with attention. She is the best, I cannot say it enough!”

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
