“So, I am a new full-time dog mom. I am so particular with my pup and I watch how he reacts to people, I trust his instinct! He LOVES Susan and her big pink poodle. She treated my Winston so well, playing and cuddling with him. She sent me pictures through out the day so I could see how he was doing. I did not have any reservations leaving him with her for the day and for an over night visit!”

“Brittany was great with Sorrel. He got lots of exercise, cuddles, and attention! I received several updates too, which was really lovely to get while I was away. Winstyn got along great with Sorrel as well :) 10/10 would recommend Brittany anyone looking for a dog care!”

“5 stars isn’t enough honestly! 🐾❤️ Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of my dog while I was away for my birthday trip. From the moment I dropped her off, you made me feel comfortable and reassured that she was in loving hands. The communication was excellent, the care was genuine, and I could truly relax and enjoy my trip knowing my baby was safe and happy. You can tell you genuinely love animals and treat them like family instead of just “watching pets.” That meant everything to me. My dog came back happy, well cared for, and full of love. Reliable, trustworthy, patient, and caring — I would absolutely recommend you to anybody looking for an amazing dog sitter. Thank you again for going above and beyond. We truly appreciate you! ❤️”

“I give Dustin 5 Stars! I enjoyed the photos and daily updates on Bonnie. I am local and we go out of town a few times a year, I will definitely be using Dustin again! He has ducks, cats, and a couple of dogs. I was worried how Bonnie would react to the other animals, but Dustin was very good at calming her and reassured me that things would be fine...which it more than was. He is friendly and has a good way with our pets. I'm glad that he is nearby as he will be our new go to dogsitter.”

“Shannon was great! This is our first experience with this app and I couldn't be more pleased. Shannon was happy to have our pups over for the weekend, including Poppy our few month old mini golden doodle. Shannon sent pictures to keep us updated and was quick with updates. Will be in touch with her again when we need to head out of town. Thanks so much!”

“Crystal did an amazing job taking care of my dog, Lagoon! She sent lots of pictures and kept me updated throughout the day, which gave me so much peace of mind. Her communication was great, and I truly felt comfortable knowing Lagoon was in such good hands the entire time. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!”

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
