About: While I didn’t grow up with animals, I have experience with cats and dogs. I am looking to further my experience by helping you out! I can check in, feed, walk and play with your animals as requested! I am currently a SAHM so I am free whenever to be able to check in on your pets and give them with the same level of care you provide while away. I can make sure your pet has fresh food and water and clean space to sleep/relax. I can walk or let your pet run freely in a fenced yard.
“Madison was great! We needed someone last minute due to an emergency and she kept our minds at ease by taking such great care of our pups. Her communication skills were top tier. We could not recommend her more. Thank you so much Madison!”

“Extremely grateful to have Sabrina available to help us out on a holiday weekend. She was flexible and patient with our dogs and schedule. Our guys were clearly in good hands.”

“Attention to all military families!! If you need someone super trusting to come and watch/take care of your furry family, do not hesitate to book with Lindsey! She was phenomenal and truly treats your babies like her own! She was super attentive, gave great timely updates, went beyond expectations in her care. She booked us the week before my husbands and I’s trip, took on the added challenge of taking care of one of our sick babies last minute as well. Well 100% be booking with Lindsey in the future ❤️🤧”

“Amanda took awesome care of my cats and chickens! She went above and beyond and brought packages in and cleaned up after my pets. She also sent plenty of photos and a detailed review of each stay. I would definitely recommend Amanda!”
About: I have a 13 year old shitzu yorkie who has been with me since I was 9 and I trained him myself. I have a roomy place with lots of places for individual areas. I currently am taking a break from work and have plenty of time to care for your furry friend as needed! Full time availability and plants of room in my schedule for any hour care. I have a dog who can keep your furry friend company but have enough room to separate them if your dog or cat likes their own space!
“Dana did an excellent job caring for our cat while we were traveling. It was great to receive updates and pictures each day so we know that he was doing okay. Dana was easy to communicate with and kept us updated on anything going on and what our cat was up to on each of her visits. We will definitely be booking with Dana again!”
About: I’ve taken care of many types of pets for at least the past 12 years for friends, family and neighbors. I’ve volunteered at the local humane society’s multiple times in the past. I’m currently working full time but make taking care of animals a priority. I have two dogs and a cat of my own. Animals are a hobby of mine. I always follow pet parent instructions. I strive to do exactly what has been explained to me. I always leash the animals to ensure their safety.
“Eliza was very conscientious and caring of my pets, even my grumpy tabby who refused to leave her tower. She made sure everyone was well-cared for during a heat wave, everyone got access to their food even if she had to feed them separately, and that they all were as happy as she could make them. I'm very pleased with her booking.”

About: I have worked in the animal care industry since I was 14 years old. I grew up with my mother whom bred and showed various different breeds of dogs as well as we kept a small mixed livestock farm. I have worked as an equine manager, I have worked at TSC, and currently am employed at a veterinary clinic where I was originally working with boarders. My skills include basic training, basic grooming, administering preventatives and medication (including insulin), providing effective and safe restraint, and I have taken multiple educational courses on animal welfare, behavior, and stress-free approach to handling. I work full time, but only mid day so I am more than capable of doing morning and afternoon visits as well as mid day on the weekends. They had a great time adventuring and playing w her pup, as seen by the many awesome pictures she provided us with which was so nice to see! She’s definitely an expert in the field of caring for dogs & we’re so glad to have found someone local to trust with the care of our beloved girls!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Carthage
Angela might as well be another member of our family! She’s very sweet and thoughtful, our dogs and cat warmed up to her right away like a long lost friend, and we felt very comfortable and safe having our fur babies in her care while we were away. Wonderful updates and pictures the whole weekend!

Erica did a great job with the cats and was able to give my sweet girl her medication while I was away! Two of the three like to hide and she checked on them in their hiding places everyday and was great about taking pictures! She was honest and let me know when she wasnt able to stay the full 30 minutes and even refunded me for that time. There was lack of communication the first few nights with the timing of feeding in the morning that prompted me to message her twice asking where she was. Not a huge deal but, when you're thousands of miles away with no other options, it can become huge in the moment. I would definitely recommend her to others in the Carthage area.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
