About: I have been taking car of all kinds of dogs for years. I've watched dogs from Labrador puppies to senior German Shepards. I've owned dogs my whole life and I've always had a special bond with them. Dogs usually gravitate towards me because I am a very fun and light hearted person. My friends often refer to me as a Disney princess because of how I am with animals. I belive all animals need love and respect and I always do my best to make them feel safe and loved. I am a nanny for a mother of three during the day but I am usually only needed two or three days a week so my weekends are completely free. Even days when I watch my kids I am off by 3pm and can spend evenings with the pets. I have several dogs of my own so my house is fully equipped with w fenced in yard and my house is pet safe. In regards to a clients home I would of course check what the client has in place but as a pet owner I am also aware pets can be sneaky and love to get into mischief. I am always checking on clients pets making sure they are safe and not getting into things they shouldn't. I am also certified in pet cpr and massage therapy incase a pet does get into distress or if they need some other help with pain. Over all my priority is always the health and safety of my client beloved pets.

“Alyssa was flexible with our crazy Navy scheduling and constantly sent funny/cute pictures of our pup while she let him out around lunch. Would highly recommend!! She will love your pup as much as you do!!”

Growing up with pets taught me how to care for dogs with love, attention, and patience. I understand the importance of keeping dogs happy and safe, and I’m excited to help care for your furry friends while you're away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or just keeping them company, I’ll make sure your dog feels right at home. I am currently working as a part-time nanny, so I am available for drop-in visits or walks during the day. My work day ends around 4pm. I have a fenced backyard for my dog to run around in and he is crate trained. I take him for walks depending on the weather and if I’m home he is out with me. We are a nonsmoking household also.

About: Most of my experience was mostly personal with the numerous animals I had when I was growing up. But I also have experience with other friends or families' animals. During that, I have taken care of the dietary needs of pit bulls to Dachsund. I am currently a student meaning I can have more time taking care of your animals as I only will have homework and no job I have gates all around my house to avoid certain rooms to ensure no animals gets in anything. I will also ensure safety on walks

About: My name is Kayela but you can call me Kaye. I am a nurse in Virginia Beach. But my real other passion is animals. A year prior to going into human medicine, I worked in the I veterinary field as a veterinary technician/assistant. I actually had plans to go to vet school, and then Covid hit; my pathway changed a little. But I don’t want that to stop me from making a difference in the animal world. I worked in the professional veterinary field for 5 years. I worked with all breeds, species, shapes, and colors of animals. I’ve worked with large animals, small animals, diseased and disabled animals. Therefore it would no reason for me not to accept your pet. I have animals of my own as well, 1 large breed dogs and 1 domestic short hair cat. I will love your animals like my own, cuddling included. I do have an extensive history of skills related to animal care as well. If you or your family have animals questions, concerns, or just curiosity in general about your animals well being, feel free to ask! I am starting to build a small clientele currently. I am open right now. Schedule could change. But just message me and we can work something out. I care for my animals more than the average person, due to the fact that I have worked in the animal medicine field. I believe a lot of issues/illnesses are preventable based on how you care for your pet. They are treated like humans in my opinion. They deserve the same attention, the same outdoor time, the same affection. They will be fed accordingly. I will also provide food recommendations as well as portion sizes based on my assessment. You can choose to follow my recommendations or continue to follow your own advice. I believe I can be very helpful with you and your care for your pets.

Important to know: 🐾*STARTING ON REQUESTS AFTER 1/10/25* - Constant care house sitting (pets that can’t be left alone for more than 4 hours) will be charged an extra daily rate equivalent to the holiday rate. Our pets are our family and it can be stressful leaving them with someone else while you’re gone, I want to always make sure to make that as stress free as possible! I absolutely love animals, especially dogs. My older sister is a veterinarian and used to groom dogs and she used to let me help her out and play with the dogs to calm them down. About: Hello, I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, and turtles. For the past four years, I’ve mostly been house-sitting/taking care of a good neighbor/friend turtle who I love dearly. I’ve put her to bed and cleaned her cage, along with feeding her while sitting with her for 3+ hours most days. I’ve learned to care for pets as if they are my own and love all animals. :)) Pet care is a vital and seamless part of my daily and weekly routine. Over the past four years, I have taken care of dogs, cats, and especially a neighbor's turtle, who I have grown to love dearly. Each day, I ensure that she is fed and her cage is cleaned, and I spend over three hours sitting with her, ensuring she feels loved and cared for. This routine has taught me to care for pets as if they were my own and deepened my love for all animals. Incorporating pet care into my schedule is crucial to me. I ensure my pet is happy and healthy, from morning walks to evening snuggles. Every activity, whether feeding, brushing, or playing, is an opportunity to deepen our bond and show my pets the love and attention they deserve. Balancing pet care with my other responsibilities, such as my involvement in ROTC at Norwich University for the past three years, has honed my discipline and time management skills. In addition to my ROTC commitments this summer, I am taking summer courses and have lacrosse practices. Despite these busy schedules, I always ensure that pet care remains integral to my routine, reflecting my dedication to their well-being. As a dedicated pet caregiver/Owner, my approach to pet care is tailored to the pet's needs and the environment. I prioritize creating a safe and nurturing space in my own home or while providing services for clients. This includes regular feeding schedules, enriching activities such as walks or playtime, administering medications if needed, and maintaining cleanliness through regular grooming and sanitation practices. Additionally, I strive to provide ample affection and attention to ensure each pet feels valued and loved, whether under my roof or in the comfort of a client's home.

About: While I’m new to providing pet care professionally, I’ve been a pet owner for years and understand the love, patience, and responsibility that comes with caring for animals. I currently have two cats and a puppy, so I’m experienced with daily feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and keeping pets on their routines. Over the past month, I’ve also been caring for pets for others, and I’ve loved building trust with both pets and their owners. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable while giving owners peace of mind that their furry family member is in caring hands. Pet care is already a part of my daily routine. I care for my own two cats and puppy every day, making sure they get fed, exercised, played with, and plenty of love and attention. Since I have a flexible schedule, I can easily accommodate walks, drop-in visits, feedings, potty breaks, and quality time with your pets. I enjoy spending time with animals and make it a priority to keep them happy, comfortable, and on their normal routine while you’re away. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and routine. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions for feeding, walks, potty breaks, medications (if needed), playtime, and any special care. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, affection, and exercise while respecting their individual personalities and boundaries. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can feel confident that their pet is happy and well cared for while they’re away. My goal is to make every pet feel loved and secure, just as if they were my own.
About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 5 years old. I would go walk dogs with my grandpa and he would let me walk them. I am currently not working. I have plenty of time to spend with your cute pets. Those little fur babies will fit right on in with my day. If you need your little fur baby to be in a crate before I leave I am able to get them in nice and calm.
About: Hey! I am currently in school to be a vet! I can walk dogs 24/7 and give them all the loving! This would be a great way for me to expand my jobs with watching your dogs! I usually am up by 8am and spend most of the day with my dog while I do schooling at home. I’m mostly free of the day besides for leaving for work or getting my brother! I have a small dog who I feed, walk & play with. We do have a dog run in my apartments and I always take my dog out to play with his toys. I also love taking him for runs.
About: I changed the direction my life was going and found the REASON was Animal Care. I began volunteering at 2 local Humane Societies in 2013. Very shortly thereafter became employed at both Societies = working 7 days a week with animals. I adopted my first 2 pets (torti cats named Cali & Ava) in the Fall of 2013. Adopted a 3rd torti cat in the Spring of 2014 (named Hallie B). I adopted a chihuahua in the Fall of 2016 (named Clara my grandmother’s name). With the exception of Hallie B they have all crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The 1st in December 2020 then June 2021 and most recently in May of this year :-( 🐾🐾🐾 They were adopted as Seniors. They were the best. After 4 years of Humane Society work I changed direction again in 2017 to a more professional aspect of Animal Care becoming employed at a Veterinary Hospital as a Kennel Attendant for over 7 years. I have performed a number of cat drop-ins around the Gloucester area for various residents affiliated with the Humane Society. One such assignment lasted for almost two months while the cat’s owners traveled to Florida for the winter. I currently work (outside of Animal Care) OVERNIGHT 40 hours WEDNESDAY thru SATURDAY. Those days I am usually available for Animal Care from 8am to 2pm. Sunday thru Tuesday I am totally available. There is some flexibility with my overnight work and the possibility of a little accommodation for Animal Care. I also have to spare some time for my own cat’s care. Quality. Compassionate. Care. is what I provide pets. I want them to have the creature comforts that make them feel all warm and comfy and content.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. - 96% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
