Heather was wonderful with our two 13 year old dogs. It’s the first time we’ve ever left then and they did great. Heather sent photos and updates which made us feel more at ease. Drop off and pick up were super easy. We are so grateful to have found Heather and a safe place for us to leave our fur babies when we are away. Sam and Harvey can’t wait to go back!

Christina took such wonderful care of Milo and Ellie while we were away. She kept us at ease with regular updates and photos, which we truly appreciated. It was clear they were in great hands the entire time. Both dogs came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. We would absolutely trust Christina again and highly recommend her

Kiana was truly amazing. I had a sudden family emergency that required me to go out of state. She went so far above and beyond during that time, while having no obligation to do so. From the beginning of the cats stay with Kiana, she had been so incredibly flexible, she agreed to watch them with only two days notice, and due to the situation evolving and becoming unpredictable, she was more than happy to allow me to extend their stay. She was the direct cause of so much stress relief due to knowing the cats were safe, and well taken care of. 5/5 human. As for her actual care of the kitties she again went well above and beyond anything anyone might think is going the extra mile. The cats were given the space needed to become comfortable and very quickly, and happily adapted to the new routine. I received frequent pictures and videos, she was very communicative, and because of her vigilance we were able to create a plan of action for one of the kitties who started throwing up more frequently than normal. She even went out and bought higher quality food for the cats, and implemented a structured feeing strategy so we could better assess the puking, which I doubt was an easy task since they both free fed before they were boarded. She kept me up to date at all times and provided regular, detailed updates. 5/5 for animal care as well. She is the best sitter/boarder I have ever had any experience with, by exponents, it’s not even close. Her service was head, and shoulders above anyone I’ve personally used before and far better than anything I’ve heard about other boarders. Choosing Kiana to care for your pets should be an insanely easy decision for anyone who wants their animals taken care of at the highest level of care, and wants someone that is just a straight up good human as well.

Nataliya sent pictures quite often, and Penny seemed part of the family. She had plenty of outdoor time, and seemed to get along great with the other couple dogs. Night time looked just like home, with Penny snuggling on the couch with family. Thank you Nataliya for taking such great care of our little lady ❤

I had a great experience with Andrea! She was so flexible and was willing to drop Simba off later, which made everything super convenient and meant be didn’t have to be alone for long. I really appreciated that she let him relax on the furniture since that’s what he’s used to at home. He got along perfectly with her two small dogs and came back happy and tired. I’ll definitely book with her again!

Susan and John took excellent care of Charlotte. They sent regular photos and kept in close contact. When Charlotte ran out of food, Susan went to the pet store to buy her new food so that she would not have to switch to something that she was not used to. Amazingly they let Charlotte up on their bed. Lots of cuddling photos. Charlotte looked happy in every one of them. I was very pleased and would highly recommend them! I am so happy to now have a dog watcher that both Charlotte and I feel confident in! Thank you Sue and John!!!

Susan was amazing. Our dog doesn’t spend much time without us so we knew he would be a bit anxious being away from home. He was so happy at Susan’s. She sent us pictures and updates which was so nice. Thank you, Susan for welcoming Diezel and taking such good care of him.

Grace was amazing! She was able to accommodate our dog's personality quirks and we were able to rest easy while Basil stayed with her. She was kind and attentive and gave updates on how our pup was doing. Thanks to Grace we were able to fully relax and enjoy the family wedding we were in town for! I only wish we lived closer so she could be our regular pet sitter!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Canterbury home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
