“Tyler was absolutely wonderful with our dogs and cat He was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. It was clear he genuinely cared about them and took great care of their needs. We really appreciated the updates and the peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. We came home to happy, well-cared-for animals and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would happily book with Tyler again in the future and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter! 🐾❤️”

About: I am always the first to call when someone I know needs pet care! I have also worked in a veterinary hospital with dogs and cats. As of now, I have a very open schedule. I am willing to care overnight or just drop by for a quick walk. I am flexible! I live in a home with a fenced in backyard. I have one dog and cat of my own, and my dog is crate-trained. Both get along with all animals great! My dog is a border collie mix, and is not aggressive at all. My house is also is 2 minute walk to a park with a field and walking track!
About: I also love dogs!! I’ve pet sat on multiple occasions for a reasonable price, because I genuinely just enjoy spending time with new puppies and keeping them company and making sure they’re taken care of. I love taking them on walks, playing fetch with them, and sitting with them I’m available on nights, mornings, and sometimes during the weekend as well! I just accepted a teaching position from 11am-6pm, and I have time to work around my schedule in order to make sure your pet’s taken care of My kitty, Mama, is an indoor kitty and she uses a litter robot because it helps keep her litter box clean all the time. I have an automatic water dispenser for her and I fill her food daily. I keep all of her things in my room because she’s in there most of the time

About: I've grown up with pets my whole life and have experience caring for dogs, cats, fish, and even a bird! I'm comfortable with all kinds of pets and love getting to know their unique personalities. As a college student, I really miss my dogs and cat back home, so I'm looking for opportunities to spend time with some furry friends while helping pet owners out. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, or just someone to keep them company, I'd love to help! I'll treat your pets like they're my own and make sure they get lots of love and attention while you're away. I’m staying in Fayetteville for the summer and have a very flexible schedule! I’m available most days and would love to help care for your pets. I have done a lot of babysitting and dog sitting for people in my neighborhood. I’m totally comfortable with cameras sending pictures and anything else necessary!

“Chelsea was an amazing pet sitter! She sent pics and updates multiple times a day and contacted me to clarify anything she was not 100% sure of. I really appreciate that effort, rather than assuming things that could lead to negative outcomes. She was very kind, and my pets were extremely comfortable with her, which my Kitty can be VERY picky, and my dog Mac is very anxious. 10/10!”

About: Hello! My name is Em! I’m a 21 year old experienced pet caretaker! I have experienced in many different species and can accommodate to your pets’ special needs. I have experience with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and much more! Can’t wait to assist you and have the pleasure of caring for your beloved pets! I am currently employed with Rover full time. So I will be more than available to care for your pets 24/7! I do go to church on Sunday mornings, but will be back after! I currently own 1 furbaby who loves the company of other pets, but he’s also crate trained so if they need their own space, he can be perfectly secured. There are many parks and dog parks near my home so if you’re pet requires walking, I am more than happy to take them for a little trip!
About: Note: I only sit animals that are up to date with vaccines, including kennel cough, and current on flea and tick prevention. I will sit any cat that isn’t super aggressive with humans. I ONLY sit dogs that are KNOWN to be good with other dogs and cats unless they are under 6 months old (in that case, I am happy to socialize them with my animals). I require clients to provide diapers/belly bands for male dogs due to the overwhelming majority of male dogs displaying marking behavior. This requirement may be waived for existing clients I have already sat for and know the dog does not mark. I have had animals my entire life. I have 4 dogs and 3 cats; one of the dogs is a stray who showed up at my house and I could not turn away. I truly have a heart for animals. All of my animals get along with each other and animals I sit through Rover as well as that I occasionally foster. I am experienced in caring for dogs of all ages and personalities, including those that require extra attention and effort to make them comfortable. I have cared for senior cats and dogs, including at end of life stages. I am experienced in dispensing oral medications to both dogs and cats. I work from home full-time Monday-Friday with a flexible schedule and can give pets plenty of attention as well as potty breaks. Outside of work, I am a homebody and rarely leave my house, so your babies will have consistent attention and affection with me. I follow all rules provided by my clients and will ask for permission to give treats, food, chews, etc. that are not provided by owners as well for permission to take them off my property (pup cup, hiking, etc.). As a former law enforcement officer (a decade of public service experience), safety is always my priority, and I ensure that pets are handled safely and securely.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of November 2026, there are 467 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Canehill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Canehill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Canehill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Canehill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
