“Orlando and his family took awesome care of our special-needs fur baby. She was very happy and obviously spoiled. We appreciated the regular updates and photos. We will definitely be back.”

“We 1000% recommend Robert and Tifanny for your dog. From the moment we dropped Chini, we felt at home as they appeared genuine and kind. We received regular and detailed updates about Chini during our 4-day trip, which made a massive difference to our peace of mind. Chini is a feisty pup and a recent rescue, so we weren't sure how she would do - but Rober and Tifanny made it easy for us. They are so competent, kind, and genuine, I cannot recommend them enough for your pup. They set up their big pool after learning that Chini loves water from her pictures. Chini has a great time playing with their pup much of the time. Their secure fenced yard was a peace of mind too. I know Chini cannot wait to go back there, and we will definitey consider them on our future trip.”

“Sue and John are amazing and took incredible care of Gunner! In fact, I don’t think Gunner wanted to leave their house and his new friend Brownie! We will use them again in a heartbeat!”

“This was our first experience with a boarder, and we couldn't be happier! Our 14-year-old fur baby is rarely left alone apart from us - his retired parents, so tipping our toe in this water was good for all of us. Makena was a gem. We received pictures that warmed our hearts, and we were confident he was well loved and cared for during our trip away. We're so grateful. Makena will always be our go to in the future.”

“Aimee was fantastic with our dogs. She booked them last minute when our other plans fell through. Since it was our first time boarding our dogs, it was a bit nerve-wracking, but Aimee made the experience smooth and comfortable. She sent us daily updates and pictures. We’ll definitely book with her again and recommend her to our friends and family!”

“Ally is absolutely amazing! I had to take my dog to the emergency vet the week before I dropped him off for boarding and Ally was fantastic managing his needs from giving pills and monitoring wounds to keeping me updated.”

“Sirene was great to work - with very kind and communicative. My cat loved her immediately and felt right at home with her. I definitely recommend her to others and will be using her again myself ☺️.”

“Stephanie is an angel put on this earth to love and watch your furry loved ones. Here service is top notch. She even cut my dog's nails, something my dog will just not let me do on my own! Stephanie is one of those types of people that you recommend for just about anything.”

“Sidney was great with our puppy. She was responsive, friendly and warm. She communicated well and kept sending us pictures through the stay. She even took him on walks and followed all the guidelines/schedule perfectly. Would definitely 10/10 recommend her.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Cooper! She and her kids loved on him, played with him, and took him on walks during his 4-night stay. It was so comforting knowing he was being treated like part of the family. We came home to a happy, well-loved pup. We highly recommend her! ❤️🐾”

“Paulina watched our dogs last minute and through difficult circumstances. She was understanding, personable, and willing to go above and beyond to help us. We’d highly recommend her for your pets.”

About: I am a dog lover and have taken care of pets all my life. Family and friends have relied on me to help take care of their fur babies. I am an active retired person with plenty of time to work around most schedules and pet care needs. I am flexible and accommodating, and my schedule allows for dedicated time with your pet. I have a fully fenced yard and a friendly and mellow medium-sized dog. I like to take walks around the neighborhood and can walk your dog as desired. I treat your pet like my own and give them all the love and attention they want.

About: I’ve helped take care of family and friends pets all the time since I was younger. Love animals and would be excited to help others with their fur friends and family! I work full time from 7:30-4:30 but can take an hour lunch anywhere between 11-1. I can use my lunch or any time after work or before work to take care of animals. I respect all house rules and take time to play and keep company with any fur babies. I have two kittens to keep any fur animals company. They’re so friendly and chatty!
About: Dogs have always brought me a lot of happiness, and that's why I love to help take care of them. Until recently, I have always had a dog to take care of in my life, and now I'd love to look after yours! :) Helping dogs exercise, making sure they are loved, clean and happy are very important to me. Dogs put so much good into this world, so they deserve all the love we can possibly give them! Also I love cats! Currently this is my only job so I have all the time to spend with your furry friends! I am available all day throughout the week. Keeping on careful eye on your pet is very important to me! Also I genuinely enjoy the company of animals so there will be lots of hanging out, playing & potty breaks. I keep my space very clean & pet friendly.

About: Hi there, we're Alex and Dasher — your dog's second family! 🐾🎾 Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I currently have Dasher, and raised him from a clumsy, curious little puppy into the happy, well-mannered goofball he is today. Along the way we've done it all together: crate training, obedience work, and of course tons of playtime, belly rubs, and zoomies in the backyard! Because I work from home, I get to spend my days with a dog by my side, which means I understand the importance on companionship, routine, and a calm, loving environment. Your pup won't just be "watched" while you're away — they'll be genuinely cared for, cuddled, played with, and given all the attention they deserve. Dasher especially loves making new friends, and he's always excited to welcome another dog into our home. Together, we'd be thrilled to open our door (and our hearts!) to your furry family member. So if you're looking for a place where your dog will be treated like part of the family, we'd love to meet you both. Come say hi, we can't wait! I am typically out at the gym from 5:30–7:30 in the morning M-F. Your pup would have some independent time, and even then it's a short window before I'm back and fully available for walks, feeding, and playtime for the rest of the day. Because I work from home, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I'll able to check in, play, and take breaks with your dog throughout the day instead of leaving them alone for long stretches. Your dog's safety and comfort always come first. We have a large, fully fenced backyard, so there's plenty of room for your pup to run, sniff, and play freely without any worry. And our very friendly golden retriever, Dasher, would love nothing more than to become your dog's new BFF. We also take safety seriously behind the scenes. Dasher is crated at night and any time I need to step away, so he always has a safe, cozy space of his own. This would be the same for any pup in my care. While dogs are out and about with us, I'll keep a close eye on them to make sure they're staying out of trouble and not getting into anything they shouldn't. I'm also comfortable handling medications, following specific feeding schedules, and accommodating any special routines your dog is used to at home — just let me know what they need. I know leaving your dog with someone new can feel like a big step, so building trust matters to me just as much as it does to you. I'm always happy to set up a meet-and-greet beforehand, answer any questions, and send updates while you're away to give you peace of mind.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cactus home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cactus.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Cactus sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
