“Catia was incredibly attentive to my dog while she was boarded. My dog was incredibly well taken care of and had exciting enrichment opportunities (playing with others, trips to the park, time in the backyard, and quality snuggle time indoors). Catia offered a safe and fun home for my dog to board while I was away and sent many updates while I was away. I would absolutely book with Catia again!”

“Jolene and Martin and their family were so incredibly nice!!! They took terrific care of our sweet Great Dane. They went out of their way to ensure Dilly was happy and comfortable. I highly recommend them.”

“Jeff and Tucker were 5 star hosts. I was happy to leave my GSD in his care for 2 weeks. He made sure to send plenty of updates, give her regular walks and attention, and treat Misha like an integral part of the family. Thank you for your great hospitality!!!”

“Naomi and Sam were AMAZING with my dog. Lots of communication and very friendly! They have a huge fenced in backyard, provided daily walks and you can tell they really love animals! Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for a good home to place your dog when away.”

“My dogs had a blast with Zaira and her family!!! They spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful we were having over the weekend and she gave them the love and attention they needed. She followed all care instructions to the letter and kept me updated with pictures and messages throughout their stay. Overall 10000/10, will absolutely re-book with Zaira. Mil gracias 💛”

“Sandy and her partner were lovely to communicate & coordinate with and I received regular updates on Shadow’s stay with them. They have a big back yard that is fenced in that my dog loved to explore and a nice deck for him to sun tan on (his fav). Would highly recommend Sandy as a rover sitter!”

“Samantha was incredibly hospitable, kind, and accommodating. She made everything easy and comfortable, and I really appreciated her thoughtfulness and flexibility. I’d gladly recommend her to anyone!”

“Archer was quite at ease with Valerie from the start. I requested a meet & greet before leaving my little guy, and was happy that Valerie met us both. I’ll be booking again”

“Jenn and Brian were able to watch our dog for 5 days while we were away. We received lots of pictures/updates throughout that time and it was clear that our pup was having a great time and was very happy! Highly recommend!”

“Monique took great care of our dog Theo. She was very responsive over text and accommodated changes in our drop off and pick up times. She also sent photo updates, which we appreciated. Would recommend!”

“Amazing sitter!! I know when I leave Jiraiya with Ryan, he's going to have a blast. I can tell Jiraiya has plenty of playtime because he's a sleepy boy on the car ride home lol. Thank you Ryan :)”

“Couldn’t be more grateful for the care Darien and her family has given to our dog. From the moment we left, we felt reassured knowing he was safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. It was obvious through the updates and photos that he was happy, relaxed, and getting lots of attention and affection. The regular photo updates truly helped put us at ease and made being away from him so much easier. We really appreciated the kindness, communication, and level of care throughout the stay. We were so pleased with the experience that we’ve already rebooked for next month. Highly recommended!”

“My husband and I were nervous we would not be able to find a sitter for our dog Enzo for our wedding weekend. Enzo is a more advanced dog, and requires more attention than most, due to his aggression with other dogs. From the moment we met Brent and Jennifer, we knew he would be in great hands. Both of them are confident and competent experienced dog owners, and gracefully handled all of Enzo's dog run ins. We received nightly updates and pictures filling us in with what Enzo did that day. It was our first time leaving Enzo alone for more than one night, and were nervous (plus nerves from our upcoming nuptials), but Brent and Jennifer calmed our nerves. I would have them watch Enzo over and over again and recommend them to anyone! It is a shame they do not live in London!”

About: I’ve had animals my whole life, as for right now I am travelling on and off and therefore cannot have my own furry friend. But in the meantime would love to go on walks and take care of yours! I have plenty of availability when I’m not travelling! When I’m not travelling or volunteering to help youth or other animal programs, I am doing this! When watching the pets taking them out, playing with them, allowing them to eat on time is very important. A healthy balance of everything is what they need!
“Can’t thank Heather and Matthew enough for taking such great care of our dog Tucker. Tucker can be a bit anxious though he settled in nicely and had a great first visit! Booking again right away!”

“Absolutely fantastic with my 14 year old pup. She communicated promptly and well. Very pleased with how my pup was cared for and returned home!”

The median cost per night for dog boarding in Port Colborne is $47
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Port Colborne
Catia is such an awesome sitter. She took our two pups- big and small- in such a ahort notice and sends us updates of their day to day goings..that was so appreciated by both my sister and I knowing that our pups are not just in safe capable.hands but that they are enjoying themselves too being out and about. Thank you so much. 💓

Jeff was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Stanley! He boarded him overnight and made the whole experience completely stress-free. His home was very clean and welcoming, which gave me great peace of mind right away. Jeff has such a calm and soothing demeanor that immediately put Stanley at ease and comfortable in a new environment. He also kept me updated with lots of photos and videos, which I truly appreciated. I would absolutely trust Jeff with Stanley again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
