“Matthew has been incredibly accommodating and helpful. Taking care of our cat with short notice and with changes in schedule he remained patient and kind. Our precious kitty enjoyed his stay, and came home happy as can be. He took great care of him and sent updates throughout his time with our cat. 110% recommend his services and will be recommending him to friends and family. Thank you Matthew for the great communication and everything else.”

“Prachi was very responsive the whole time I left my dog with her. Every day I would receive updates with pictures and videos of my furry baby having lots of fun and playing. I would definitely recommend!”

“Keri Lynn took amazing care of our Bernese, Charley! She took us in at the last minute. She put my worries at ease by sending us some photos and regular updates. Charley got a lot of love and attention from Keri Lynn and her family, and made new friends with her dogs! Thanks again!”

“We had a last minute booking because both my wife and myself were busy all day. Ruth was very accommodating and answered all our questions. After dropping Toby off Ruth kept us updated with pictures and messages of Toby. A tired dog is a good dog and he came back exhausted from playing. Book Ruth today. You can’t go wrong.”

“Satt is fantastic! She took great care of my Chewy while he was with her and gave me peace of mind each day by sending pictures and videos. I will definitely be using her services again.”

“Sarah provided the best experience that I’ve ever received on Rover! Not only did her and her family take amazing care of my Shiba, they went above and beyond!!! She asked lots of questions and was very thorough during our meet and greet and made sure to send me lots of pictures and updates while I was away. I wasn’t worried about my dog at all while in Sarah’s care. Will definitely book Kiki to stay with her again.”

About: Hi! I’m here to meet your furry babies. 🐾 Before moving to Canada, I spent 16 wonderful years caring for my own dog. Since we’re no longer living together, every opportunity to spend time with other pets truly makes me happy. (He is still happy, healthy and very much alive😂) Because I cared for a senior dog, I’m comfortable with basic medical care, including applying eye drops, ointments, giving pills or powdered type medication, and administering subcutaneous (under-the-skin) fluids if needed. I’m also happy to give your pet a bath if you’d like, as long as you provide the bath supplies. Also, I don’t offer full grooming services but I can trim nails and do light face trimming if you provide the necessary tools. Since moving to Canada, I’ve cared for puppies, adult dogs, small breeds, large breeds, kittens, and adult cats. To respect my clients’ privacy, I didn’t upload photos of pets I’ve cared for in my profile. However, while your pet is with me, I love sending lots of photos and videos every day, so you can feel connected and never have to worry too much or miss them too much! Please, feel free to share as many many details as possible about your pets—their routines, personalities, likes, dislikes, and anything else that helps me provide the best care for them! Can’t wait to meet new furry babies! ❤️ I’m currently staying home most of the time, so I’m available to work around your schedule on both weekdays and weekends. I usually take dogs out 3–4 times a day, but I’m happy to follow whatever routine they’re used to. If you have any preferences, such as extra outdoor time, indoor-only activities, or a specific potty schedule, I’d love to know in advance! As a owner of small old dog, your pet’s safety is always my priority. My home has two staircases and an attic. Whenever I take care of small dogs, I usually block off the stairs leading to the attic to help prevent injuries from jumping or climbing. And if you dońt want your little one to jump onto the couch or bed, Just let me know in advance! I also have a small front yard and backyard without fence, I always keep dogs on a leash whenever we step outside, even for a quick potty break. Our neighborhood is quiet, with a nearby school, making it a great area for safe walks. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I’m happy to follow your house rules and routine. Just let me know which areas of your home you’d like me to stay in and any preferences you have while I’m there.

About: I’m able to take care of any animal small or large. I prefer taking care of them in your home so that they are less stressed if you are away while I do my own home I still prefer going into yours. It is healthier and better for your babies to have something that is familiar to them. I’m on shift work so I’m available quite often. No matter what I will ensure that your babies are well taken care of and get the attention and cuddles that they need. I care for your pets exactly the way you request. Depending on the type of animal and your living situation, I’ll make sure they’re cared for properly — whether that means playing outside to burn off energy, keeping them mentally engaged with puzzles, or simply cuddling on the couch. I always respect your rules: if they’re crate-trained, that’s fine; if they’re allowed on the furniture, that’s fine too.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - North Bay
Matthew is so accommodating, having to meet Todd twice before his stay. He sent me updates and pictures to ease any worries I may have with my baby boy. He knows how to calm an anxious and energetic dog. He looks so happy in the pictures! Thanks Matthew and Fiona! Will be seeing you again in the future!

They are a really nice boarder! My dog is usually very shy and afraid of strangers, but she followed them without any problems. They sent me many photos and videos every day, and I could tell they truly love and care for her. I will definitely book with them again next time.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
