1. Ruth H.
“Let me start off by saying Ruth and the entire experience was fantastic! We had recently listed our house for sale and needed to get it ready for showings which meant finding a place for our Australian Sheppard Gryphon for a week. I was surprised to learn about Rover.com and the service they offered. After reading Ruth’s profile and all the great reviews she has received it was an obvious choice! Gryphon was well taken care of, walked and treated like family everyday. Ruth provided pictures and updates daily to make us feel at ease since we had never left him with anyone before. Gryphon made some great new friends and had a blast. Would certainly use Ruth again and highly recommend her for your pet!! Thx again Ruth!”
2. Taylor C.
“Taylor was amazing with my girl. She sent updates and photos during her stay. Yara was a very happy girl when I picked her up. I would 10/10 recommend.”
3. Carol F.
“Our dogs love going to Carol's house, they love running around playing in the big fenced in backyard. They're always tired when they come home!”
4. Courtney C.
About: Hello, my name is Courtney and I love pets!! I have a long list of pet experience throughout my whole life. I strongly believe that your babies deserve the same quality care and love that you give them while you are away and I am here to do just that. I grew up on a farm and have experience with all types of farm and companion animals. I just graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Animal Biology with honours. Through my time in university I specialized in animal care and welfare and learned about animal nutrition, behaviour and genetics. I also volunteered and worked with dog rescues and even raised and trained a service dog. I have also worked at a pet store and doggy daycare in the past. I have two dogs of my own. Ekho, who is a husky mix and Hippo, a French bulldog. I have had Ekho since she was a puppy and she has been with me through all of my university years. We have competed in dog shows and many dog sports together. She was also the best foster sister to all of my previous foster dogs and the service dog I raised. Both Ekho and Hippo are extremely dog (and cat) friendly. They have been around dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages and energy levels. They know how to play with the energetic dogs but are also respectful of the more quiet and nervous dogs who may need more space or not want to play with them. We live in a spacious house on 5 acres on the outskirts of north bay. While you are on vacation it will be just like your dog is on their own mini vacation as we are constantly going on adventures and love swimming and hiking. At the end of the day we can be found snuggled up on the couch or in bed watching a movie. I am currently back in school to become a paramedic. My schooling is hybrid style meaning that the majority of my school is done online while I do have a few days in person at the college from 10am-3pm (typically once a week). But don’t worry, I take my dogs for a long walk every morning (so they are tired and really don’t miss me very much while I’m away) and we always go on some sort of adventure when I get home (weather dependant). I am home all day every weekend and that is when we typically go for longer hikes, swimming at the beach or lounging all day in the backyard where we can play fetch or splash in the kiddie (doggy) pool. When in my home your pet will be treated like one of my own. They will be spoiled and showered with love all day long. I do not have a fenced yard but I do have 100’ long lines so those who cannot be trusted off leash will still be able to have lots of space to run around. They will have the company of my two dogs who are great playmates or companions for all different types of dogs. I have extensive knowledge on animal behaviour and safety, dogs will always be under supervision while playing and will be monitored for signs of stress or if they are in need of a break from playing. Health and safety is my number one priority. Especially having a French bulldog and husky I am always monitoring temperatures and water intake during the summer to reduce risk of heat stroke. If your dog is nervous or reserved around other dogs, no need to worry as I do have a separate living room and bedroom in my basement where my 2 dogs do not have access to. So if your dog needs space or 1-on-1 time I am set up to accommodate that.
