“Jane was fantastic with our Rosie! She gave regular updates with pictures, and was great with making Rosie feel comfortable in her home. Rosie also had plenty of outdoor time to get her exercise and fresh air. We would not hesitate to book Jane again when we are back in Muskoka!”

“Andrea was amazing with Bella. She communicated well and took special care of our aging dog. Her home is warm and comfortable and Bella became quite attached to her in a short time!”

“From the moment I arrived at the house I just knew this was going to be a fabulous second home for Rolo. The space is fantastic for dogs with lots of space to run free. The house is also away from the main road so it felt very safe. And then we met Siobhan and Marc who are the sweetest people. It was clear that they not only cared for Rolo but they poured love into him. He had a great stay and I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better dog vacation for Rolo.”

“Sabine was perfect for my English bulldog. He can be very stubborn and needs lots of attention. From the updates i received and how he acted when i picked him up it seems like he had a great time!”

“We’re so happy we found Wayne to watch our dog Bentley while we were in the hospital having our twins! Bentley had the best time playing in the huge backyard surrounded by his favourite things: sticks, water, and doggie friends. Wayne clearly showed him so much love, and we appreciated all the photo and video updates. He and Darlene were also incredibly kind and supportive during this special time for our family—their warmth truly meant a lot to us. Truly the best dog sitting experience we’ve ever had. Thank you both so much!”

Rest assured, with me your dog will be well loved, well fed, and most importantly, safe while you're away. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. Lincoln and I, enjoy multiple walks every day, plenty of outdoor time, and we get to spend lots of quality time together. Because caring for animals is already part of my lifestyle, adding your pet to my routine is something I genuinely enjoy. As a business owner, I also have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide dependable care, regular potty breaks, exercise, and plenty of attention. I treat every pet as if they were my own. I carefully follow the owner’s instructions, keep pets on their normal routine, ensure they always have fresh water, exercise, and plenty of attention, and make safety my top priority by securing doors, gates, and leashes. I also provide regular updates so owners can feel confident their pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“Tracy & Tim were wonderful! Leo had a fantastic time playing with their family and pup, and he was worn out and ready for a nap when he got home! We got lots of cute pictures and updates, which we always love. Highly recommend and will definitely use them as pet sitters again 😊”

“Rhiannon and Patrick are exactly what we have been looking for. We have 2 Bouviers that need room to roam and people to love and they have found them. With 100 acres and endless trails Sadie and Koda came home happy and tired😀 We will definitely be booking with Rhiannon again.”

About: Senior dog care experience Clean and healthy environment Work from home professional I live in a detached home with a backyard which the dogs can enjoy supervised. Most importantly, I will provide a comfortable and loving environment for your furry friend as if they were my own. I work a professional job full time from home, making it incredibly easy to provide the attention they need as well as to ensure they're safe and comfortable. I go for daily walks and have a backyard which I can let the dogs out throughout the day. The scheduling and attention is not a challenge given my work arrangements. I have a miniature poodle (Theo) myself and can take on 1 small dog at a time. There will be no other pets or dogs present during my care asides from Theo. Given my work arrangements, I have the ability to take care and watch the dogs at all times. I do not crate the animals unless you specifically require it. For the safety of my own dog, I ask that you do not book with me unless your dog is friendly with other dogs.
“Our pup had SUCH a great time with Dakota. She was excellent at keeping us up to date with progress and pictures. We were so at ease and grateful for the wonderful, loving care she received. Looking forward to her next stay!”

About: A loving safe space awaits for your furry friend. I have owned dogs/cats/rabbits/chickens/horses for the past 30 years. Currently I have 2 working dogs and a very spoilt terrier who thinks she’s one of the children. The working dogs have been trained since puppies and we rescued the terrier at the age of 2. I currently check in and look after my mums cat in a daily basis and helped care for my mums elderly cat including giving medication. We also have chickens and rabbits so very experienced providing care for them too. I currently work part time and can take dogs to work with me or they are very safe at home lounging on the sofa with the radio on for comfort. I have a fenced large garden and 3 dogs to keep your dog company. I have a little terrier who has the run of the house and 2 working dogs who have kennels. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
