“My baby Cashew had the most AMAZING time! Siobhan and Marc made me feel extremely comfortable about leaving my little man with them. He means the world to me and they took care of him just like I would have at home. They sent me pupdates all the time and were highly responsive. Any dietary needs were taken care of and you can tell that they have a very safe and warm loving home set up perfectly for pups of all sizes. Their home is so spacious, as is their property, and I know that Cashew had the time of his life running around in their huge backyard! Thank you so much to the both of you for taking such excellent care of my little guy. I’ll absolutely be using you guys again in the future!!”

“Tracy & Tim were wonderful! Leo had a fantastic time playing with their family and pup, and he was worn out and ready for a nap when he got home! We got lots of cute pictures and updates, which we always love. Highly recommend and will definitely use them as pet sitters again 😊”

“Wayne provided excellent pet care, Shadow was happy to see us but not stressed like when we got him from a kennel. I received photo and updates during my time away, Shadow had great walks and even went shopping at Home Depot. I will definitely have Wayne watch Shadow again.”

“Andrea was amazing from the start. My boy, Humphrey, was stressed and a little clingy and she handled him beautifully. He was happy and relaxed when I picked him up. Would use again, and will!”

“Jane was fantastic with our Rosie! She gave regular updates with pictures, and was great with making Rosie feel comfortable in her home. Rosie also had plenty of outdoor time to get her exercise and fresh air. We would not hesitate to book Jane again when we are back in Muskoka!”

“Jonathan and his wife were wonderful with Lily. He sent lots of updates with pictures during her visit. She was very relaxed, calm and well cared for. I highly recommend their service.”

“Rhiannon and Patrick are exactly what we have been looking for. We have 2 Bouviers that need room to roam and people to love and they have found them. With 100 acres and endless trails Sadie and Koda came home happy and tired😀 We will definitely be booking with Rhiannon again.”

About: I've always had my own animals since I was a kid. I would look after my own cats when I was old enough to do so. Then as I got older I would look after neighbors pets while also looking after their children. I had my own golden retriever who I looked after for 10 years until she passed away last year from cancer. At the end of her life I had to administer medication every day. I am currently working full time as a courier so I am only available on the weekends to start. Beginning in June, I will be working a night shift which will allow me to be available during the day Monday-Friday. But don't worry, your pet won't be alone because while I'm working my husband will be home, and when he's working I will be home. I have a fully fenced in backyard for your dogs to stay safe and have fun off leash. We have a bungalow style home which is great for dogs that struggle with stairs. They can sleep on a dog bed on the floor or we have a crate if that's what they are used to. They will get lots of love, playtime, and treats (if allowed). I will keep you updated with pictures and videos of your fur baby while they are in my care.
“Our pup had SUCH a great time with Dakota. She was excellent at keeping us up to date with progress and pictures. We were so at ease and grateful for the wonderful, loving care she received. Looking forward to her next stay!”

“Valerie did an amazing job watching our miniature dachshund Ruby over the weekend while my husband and I got married in MacTier! She has a lovely home in a beautiful location and did her very best to make Ruby comfortable and give her lots of attention and cuddles. Would highly recommend her for dogs with separation anxiety!”

I am open to care on weekends or weekday evenings. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. Inside the home, I focus on creating a cozy and low-stress atmosphere with plenty of attention, cuddles, playtime, and rest.
“We left our dog Polo in very good hands. Sabine loves dogs and Polo warmed up to her immediately. Her attention to Polo’s personality made us feel comfortable leaving him with her. Polo had wonderful daily walks and enjoyed her home made dog treats. We definitely would like to use Sabine again!”

About: A loving safe space awaits for your furry friend. I have owned dogs/cats/rabbits/chickens/horses for the past 30 years. Currently I have 2 working dogs and a very spoilt terrier who thinks she’s one of the children. The working dogs have been trained since puppies and we rescued the terrier at the age of 2. I currently check in and look after my mums cat in a daily basis and helped care for my mums elderly cat including giving medication. We also have chickens and rabbits so very experienced providing care for them too. I currently work part time and can take dogs to work with me or they are very safe at home lounging on the sofa with the radio on for comfort. I have a fenced large garden and 3 dogs to keep your dog company. I have a little terrier who has the run of the house and 2 working dogs who have kennels. I am more than happy to provide a crate in the house if they will feel more comfortable in the house in a crate.
“Ruby had a fantastic stay with Danielle over the weekend; she didn’t even want to leave when we got there to pick her up! Danielle took amazing care of Ruby and instantly made her feel right at home. She gave her lots of attention and affection and lots of photo updates. She truly is the dachshund whisperer! I would definitely recommend her for dogs with separation anxiety. We’re very grateful she was available!”

About: I have been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have always had a deep love and appreciation for animals. Growing up, I had the joy of caring for Shelties, Golden Retrievers, and Papillons, each teaching me the importance of patience, companionship, and understanding every dog’s unique personality. I currently have a Golden Retriever puppy who is very loved, well-socialized, and has the sweetest, most gentle personality. He is extremely well-behaved and will be starting puppy school in July to continue building his training and manners. My partner is also home and able to help care for him, ensuring every pet receives plenty of attention, supervision, and love. If your pup stays with me, they will be welcomed into a safe, caring, and dog-loving home. I want to be transparent that my puppy may be present during stays, but I always prioritize the comfort and needs of your pet. For walks, your dog will receive one-on-one attention — I will take your pup on their own walk rather than walking multiple dogs together. For drop-ins or visits, my focus will be on giving your pet personalized care, affection, and making sure they feel happy and comfortable while you’re away. Your pet will be treated like family here 🐾 I am a teacher and will be off during the months of July and August, which means I have a very flexible schedule and am available for pet care whenever needed. I have plenty of time to provide walks, drop-in visits, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Starting in September, my availability will depend on whether I accept a teaching position (LTO), but I will always have availability in the evenings and on weekends. I am committed to providing reliable and consistent care and will communicate clearly with each pet parent to make sure your pet’s needs are met. Creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for every pet is my top priority. Whether I am caring for your pet in my home or visiting them in theirs, I focus on making sure they feel secure, happy, and well cared for. In my home, pets are welcomed into a calm, clean, and dog-loving environment where they receive lots of attention, affection, playtime, and supervision. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I will always take the time to make sure they feel comfortable. My Golden Retriever puppy may be present in my home, but he is extremely friendly, well-behaved, and continuing his training. When caring for pets in their own home, I respect their space and routines while providing dependable care, companionship, walks, feeding, playtime, and lots of love. I know pets feel most comfortable with familiarity, so I aim to keep their normal schedule and environment as consistent as possible. I will always communicate with pet parents, provide updates, and make sure you feel confident knowing your furry family member is safe and cared for while you’re away. 🐾
About: Now that I’m home for the summer I have plenty of time to spend with your furry friends. I live with two cats and one energetic puppy. My qualification list is extensive, as I have plenty of experience in pet sitting and walking, as well as experience working in a Veterinary office. I’m currently working part time and my shifts end around noon so my schedule is very flexible. I have lots of free time to spend with your pet and I spend lots of time at home so they will never feel alone. I have a large fenced yard to take pets out to run around and use the bathroom. I live in a large, clean, safe, and pet friendly household. Your pet will get plenty of attention and plenty of love here.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Bracebridge
Wayne took awesome care of our Springer Spaniel, Desmond. From the moment they met, you could tell that Wayne is a dog-person. Desmond immediately took to him and when we left, Dessmond ran off with Wayne and didn't look back. The photos we received throughout the weekend showed Desmond having a huge amount of fun, and getting lots of care and love. He came home contented, tired and clean!! We would highly recommend Wayne and will definitely leave Desmond with him again.

Wayne and his wife were great with our Nala girl. She met friends next door and Wayne has a wonderful property that allows her to run and play. They gave her all their attention and were focused solely on her. She will be going back and we feel very at ease with it.

The best experience ever! We met with Tracy and her dog Lucy a few weeks before the booked stay to let our dogs meet, and for me to ask questions as this was my first time using rover. Tracy watched our dog this past weekend and sounds like he had a great time! Tracy sent me multiple updates and pictures during the stay. Tracy was very accommodating to my timelines (drop off/pick up). Sounds like the whole family really enjoyed having my dog and we will definitely be using Tracy and her family again next time. I can’t thank them enough for taking great care of my fur baby.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
