“Melanie took care of my dog Tango back in 2020 and I forgot to leave a review (sorry). She was so wonderful with my dog and I think constantly about how lucky I was to have her take care of him on a short notice. She sent lovely videos and pictures during his stay. When I came to pick him up I could tell he was well taken care of and felt comfort where he was. I would not hesitate to have her look over him again. I highly recommend Melanie to anyone looking for a pet sitter!”
“I would recommend Michelle & Robert for your loved pet. They were very frendly, easy to communicate with. They welcomed my dog in as one of their own. He came home happy and tired. I defiantly will be retuning in the future. Thank you kindly”

“Our dog can be an absolute menace with strangers and had the best time with Sharon!! Her dedication to making sure our pup was comfortable was awesome! Thank you so much!”
“So kind, sending so many pictures to show us how Maple was getting along in Her home. I would highly recommend this loving family to care for your pet like they are their own. I will definitely use them again!”

“Shelley was an absolute dream dog sitter! She sent us lots of photos and even printed off an adorable picture and framed it of our dogs. She clearly just loves dogs and we will definitely use her again! This was our first time using Rover and it was a great experience.”

“We had such a great experience with Katherine. The daily updates were thoughtful and reassuring, and it was clear Quinn was happy, comfortable, and very well looked after. It made being away so much easier. I truly can’t recommend Katherine enough!”

“Tyson loved his stay! We appreciated being able to leave him with Susan and Brian in their home and their wonderful care while away. Great communication/pics sent. Will definitely use again. Thank you!”

“Heather and her husband and kids are SUPER nice, prompt and passionate about animals.. They took my girl Mea, VERY last minute and loved and cared for her for 24 hrs. She seemed very comfortable with the Heather and her family. Awesome awesome family and animal lovers. I'd give 10 stars if I could...”

“Our experience boarding our dogs with Debra for a weekend was great from the start. She provided a safe, dog friendly home, well set up for caring for our dogs. She is very caring and showed a love toward our pets. The photos shared over their visit showed how happy and relaxed they were. I will arrange visits with Debra again when we need dog care. Thanks Debra”

“Aditya and Ipshita were everything we could ask for and then some. They cared for our dog like a beloved family member and kept us posted throughout his stay. This is the first time we've truly felt comfortable with the care of our dog and I will use them again without hesitation. Thanks Aditya and Ipshita.”

“My dog Beau had an excellent stay with Valerie at her home in Honey Harbour. He was with her for 7 days and I felt very confident with her. She gave me updates throughout his stay to ensure he was doing alright. I will definitely be using her as a sitter again!”

“Sara took excellent care of our energetic Airedale terrier. He had multiple walks, a clean and spacious house, and large fenced backyard. She sent us plenty of photos and updates, and we knew that our dog was very well cared for. They have 2 friendly, non-aggressive dogs that played well with our dog. I highly recommend Sara and Cody for anyone who wants exceptional care for their dog.”

“Jillian made Theo feel right at home. We received a few photos of him where he looked very content. Thank you for taking such good care of him; and when we’re back in the area we will definitely rebook!”

“Joan kindly contacted us prior to Dallas’ stay and offered a visit in advance of his stay. She was helpful and flexible about drop off and pickup times. She sent us pictures to reassure us that Dallas had settled in ok and took him for walks during his time there. Could not have asked more from a dog carer!! Thanks Joan and family!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Midland
Melanie was wonderful with my Charlie. It is the first time Charlie has stayed with someone we didn’t know and I think it was lovely for him. I think he made new friends and that was just great. He came home and appeared to be really happy. We were very happy with Melanie and her welcoming home.

This was my first time leaving my dog with someone that wasn't either a family member or a friend. So it was understandable I was feeling a bit anxious about the whole situation. After dropping my dog off with Shelley at past 8pm on the first night, Shelley had been amazing since then. Shelley started sending me pictures of my dog and providing updates the first night. This became a trend almost every morning and night, providing updates and pictures of my dog. There were no days where there wasn't an update, even on days I did not respond. Shelley would also recap what my dog did throughout the day. I want to thank Shelley and her husband to get me from feeling anxious to reassured in less than a few hours. I would definitely use Shelley again and highly recommend her to anyone else. She also had the best price compared to everyone else I saw on Rover. Lastly as an added surprised, Shelley and her husband made a picture frame of my dog as a souvenir. I love the picture frame and it's currently up in my condo, it's the only picture frame I have in my place ahaha. Thank-you Shelley and Al for taking such great care of my dog. I wish you both the best : )

Sharon is the best! She is so wonderful with our dog and we always know she is safe and well cared for. Sharon is very accommodating and helpful with booking requests and drop off/pick up etc. Our dog absolutely loves her visits with Sharon, she is always very excited to go back!

We left our very special baby boy King Charlie’s Maxwell-Junior the 1st (Boxer) with Rob and Michelle for a 2 night stay. They were loving and caring with him and sent us wonderful messages and pictures which completely put our mind at ease while we were away. I would highly recommend Rob and Michelle and will be using them again to watch Charlie. He has spent time with others before but I have never felt so comfortable then when Rob & Michelle watched him. They even let our very spoiled boy sleep in their bed!!! Charlie has a little separation anxiety too and he was so relaxed.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
