Sharon did an excellent job looking after my cat when a last minute opportunity to travel came up. She is very professional and provided requested updates throughout the week. I would not hesitate to have her provide care again.

About: I’m a friendly and active person, would love a walking buddy. I have had dogs my whole life, from Puppies to seniors with all the fun and mess between. I work from home and have the ability to get out in the mornings, on lunch and after work. I’m fairly flexible in my availability. I have 2 cats who are very spoiled little ladies. I am no stranger to new dogs with a history in assistance of foster dogs.

Don’t hesitate to book Mary! We appreciate Mary so much for our senior, senile old pup. It’s hard to leave a dog when they’re in their twilight years, but Mary is so patient, communicative and kind. I always feel so much better knowing that she’s keeping an eye on our pup and our home.

About: 🐾 About Me Hi there! I’m Shelley — a lifelong dog lover with a soft spot for snuggly, affectionate pups. I’ve had a Shih Tzu of my own, so I understand just how much love, comfort, and attention our furry friends need to feel happy and secure. I don’t focus on long walks — instead, I offer something many dogs truly prefer: a big, fully fenced yard to safely play and explore, and a calm, cozy environment where they can relax, cuddle, and get all the attention they deserve. Whether your dog loves gentle playtime, lap snuggles, or just being near someone who adores them, they’ll feel right at home with me. I treat every guest pup like my own — with patience, care, and plenty of belly rubs. This isn’t just pet sitting — it’s about creating a loving, stress-free space where your dog feels safe, seen, and loved. ❤️ 🗓️ My Schedule I’m home most of the time, so your pup will never be left alone for long. I keep a flexible schedule and can adjust to meet each dog’s needs. ✅ Daytime: I’m available throughout the day for playtime, feeding, and cuddles. Dogs have plenty of supervised outdoor time in my large fenced yard, plus cozy indoor breaks. 🌙 Evenings: Evenings are relaxed and calm — perfect for dogs who like winding down with snuggles or quiet time. 🏡 Weekends: Available most weekends for overnight stays or daytime visits — just reach out and I’ll do my best to accommodate! 🏡 When Pets Stay in My Home Your pup will enjoy a relaxed, loving environment with lots of attention and space to play. I have a large, fully fenced yard, perfect for safe outdoor time and fetch. Dogs get plenty of supervised playtime, snuggles, and one-on-one care — no overcrowding. I keep a calm, cozy home — great for small or medium dogs who love comfort and companionship. Fresh water, clean spaces, and lots of affection are always guaranteed. If your dog likes naps, belly rubs, or just being close, they’ll fit right in here. 💡 In short: I treat your dog like family — safe, loved, and completely at ease. --- 🚗 When I Care for Pets in Their Home When I visit your home, I focus on keeping your pet’s routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I follow your instructions closely — from feeding schedules to favorite toys or nap spots. I give lots of love, pets, and playtime, so your pup feels cared for even while you’re away. I send photo and text updates so you always know how your furry friend is doing. I’m respectful of your home, clean, and reliable — you can always count on me to show up on time.

About: My 24 years of experience includes behaviour training of numerous breeds both big and small, rescues and abandoned, aggressive, nervous, or insecure, I’ve worked with them all and then trained their owners. I’ve trained dogs for work at Pearson Airport and I’ve been fortunate enough to train dogs for people with seen and unseen disabilities. I’ve worked with bomb detection dogs, organized goose and duck control with border collies for large business properties and am very knowledgeable with puppy and senior care as well. I am experienced with large dogs, canine aggression, mental health issues including separation anxiety and shut downs. I speak an excellent canine! In other words, I am very familiar with canine body language and how to correctly interpret their vocal and physical communication. I’ve also graduated from a college program on Canine Massage Therapy so I can get an accurate overall understanding of your pet friend during their stay with me. If you have any questions about their behaviour I will include a professional behaviour analysis that will help you better understand your dog, along with training tips using Positive Reinforcement that will encourage the results you want. Dogs have emotional highs and lows like we do, as well as fears and traumatic experiences that linger, stay in their body, and are hard to overcome. I will earn their trust as well as yours, help bring them into a balanced emotional state which will ease everyone’s mind and bring peace to your household. Your dog is a treasure that will be protected in my home, and treated like my own. My K9 partner recently retired from Explosive Detection so I decided to retire from that career too. As a result, I can dedicate full time personal attention to your dog(s). Also, I only accept a maximum of 5 dogs per day. By keeping the numbers low I can devote more time to each one and ensure a happy, healthy vacation for them. I commit to staying active with active dogs and will cater to absolute pampering for seniors and toys. I have separate areas in my home for smaller dogs, senior dogs, and bigger dogs. That way each pet can feel comfortable and at ease here, like one of the family.

About: I’ve had cats my whole life, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I’ve also spent many years around dogs and have had my own dog for the past 2.5 years. I truly love animals and understand the importance of making pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. My dog is a sweet, gentle giant who loves company and gets along well with others. On my days off, I’d love to walk your dogs, provide potty breaks, or spend quality time with them. My dog is also looking for some new friends to join us for walks and playtime! I work full-time Sunday through Thursday, but I’m available for pet care on Fridays and Saturdays. I can offer boarding and overnight stays on Friday and/or Saturday nights, with pickup by 10:00 AM on Sundays. I’m also available on those days for dog walks, potty breaks, drop-in visits, and quality time with your pets. My sweet, gentle giant dog would also love to make some new friends for walks and playtime! I do not have a fenced yard, but I love staying active and walking my dog regularly. I’d be happy to bring your dog along with us for walks and outdoor time. If your dog enjoys adventures and has reliable recall, I can also take them for hikes or outings in the car for extra exercise and fun. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my priority.

About: Hi! I'm Sarah, I'm a big animal lover, I've always been around lots of animals growing up. I have so much respect for animals, as they are amazing creatures. I currently have 2 years of experience of Rover including weeks or month long sittings. My main priority with animals is making sure they're comfortable and happy. I absolutely adore any pet you may own and take the care schedule seriously. My family is very dog oriented, so I have a big system of support/knowledge I can access when taking care of your pets! Understanding the dogs signals and needs is very important to me. I hope you consider me! Maarsii. I do this job full time now as it suits me well. I love pet sitting a lot and it suits my needs in work life and inspires me. I am a quiet relaxed person and often find myself in situations where dogs regard me as a safe person to be with. I also give your pets as much attention or space as they wish. I have a good eye for detail and signals that your pets use to communicate!

About: My guy Bruce is the best thing to happen to me! Bruce is a great companion - he’s very loyal, and the snuggliest little guy in the world. He is reactive however, and because of it, I now have experience in that department. Bruce is doing really well - it’s all about consistency and learning about their specific triggers and how to handle them: Happy to pass on some tips and tricks that I’ve learned along the way. Bruce and I spend a lot of time with other dogs on hikes and on play dates - happy to do the same with yours. If they prefer not to be social we can do that too! I’m good with small & big dogs and those with behaviour issues that we need to work through. Shoot me a message! I work from home and am available most days for a visit or a walk. Could also be available last minute - give me a shout! I’d prefer to come to your home, but if your dog is good with other dogs we can try them out with brucey first to see how things will pan out. He doesn’t do well with intact males or dogs that are reactive/aggressive - he reacts second. I will treat your dog like my own, and give them all the rubs and snuggles (if they want them!!).

About: Hi, My name is Kim and I have been taking care of dogs and cats for most of my life. Whether it's my own animals or my friends and families. I have administered medications, bathed, walked, and fed them. I have worked with animals that are on a special diet. My Pug has allergies so I understand the necessity of sticking to diets. My Shih Tzu is on daily medication for seizures so I understand the responsibility and importance of making sure medications is administered consistently and properly. I was a PSW, but I am taking some time off to see if can start a career in animal care. My schedule is open with lots of time to give attention to your animal. I like to treat every animal that comes in my home like they are my own. I own two small dogs and I keep them leashed at all times when I am outside. My yard is partially fenced in and safety is my number one priority for all animals. I would take the dogs on multiple walks a day to keep them exercised. I also have two children aged 12 and 9 who love to play with your animal to keep them happy. I would feed the animals as per the animals usual schedule. If you have any concerns or questions feel free to ask.

Marie met with us twice prior to caring for our 2 female Maine Coons to understand our expectations and needs. She sent photos of the girls and provided updates on their wellbeing. This reassured me that our cats were well cared for and happy. One of our cats is overweight and requires assistance with cleaning herself. ( she can’t reach her bottom end). Marie cleaned her bottom twice while we were away. Even sent a photo of how annoyed Frankie was with this, but made me feel Marie cared. I would definitely recommend and use Marie for future needs. Amazing!!!

Tori was super easy to communicate with and took our crazy dog house in good stride! Our young girls can be a handful! She came and let them out, fed them and made sure they had water. She even got our old man to eat his food, which doesn’t always work out. We would hire Tori again 😊

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Midland on Rover is $26.64 per visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 400 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Midland. About 86% of Midland sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Midland stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Midland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
