“Siobhan and Marc were excellent to Duke! I really appreciated the photo updates over the week I was away. Duke enjoyed swimming in the pond a lot with their dog and I was thankful that Shiobhan gave him a little bath before I picked him up. I would recommend them and the property is beautiful, for a little doggo holiday!”

“Debra was beyond amazing! She sent many great photo updates, which helped ease my mind. Lola was well cared for, loved and spoiled. She went above and beyond, even providing a ram outside since Lola is a senior dog. Would absolutely recommend and we will be returning clients 😊”
“Katia looked after our dog, Skittles for 2 weeks when we were traveling overseas. Katia sent updates and photos daily how Skittles was doing and what they did that day. Katia and her family, along with their family dog, loved our "social butterfly" pup so Skittles fit right into their home! Skittles was happy to see us but I am sure she would like to go back some time. We will definitely use Katia again.”

“Lisa was amazing with my 2 year old bouvier, Molly. I was sent pictures of her walking, resting, investigating Lisa's home and yard. I would definitely recommend her and will use her again if needed. It was Molly's first time away from family and she had never met Lisa before. I was nervous that Molly might cause problems, but she was very comfortable with Lisa. Thank you for such great care.”

“We’re so happy we found Wayne to watch our dog Bentley while we were in the hospital having our twins! Bentley had the best time playing in the huge backyard surrounded by his favourite things: sticks, water, and doggie friends. Wayne clearly showed him so much love, and we appreciated all the photo and video updates. He and Darlene were also incredibly kind and supportive during this special time for our family—their warmth truly meant a lot to us. Truly the best dog sitting experience we’ve ever had. Thank you both so much!”

“Tracy was so friendly, welcoming and so sensitive to our senior blind dog Bella who also suffers from separation anxiety when not with us. Tracy was able to calm her down and feeling secure that she can trust her. Bella did not bark all day like she does at à regular kennel. When we picked her up, Bella was not stressed like she is usually when we pick her up at a kennel. I was so grateful for the genuine care Tracy gave to our Bella. I recommend Tracy's services as I would use hers again anytime. Merci Tracy. Claudette Lamontagne Azilda Ontario”

“Jonathan and his wife made my little Tucker feel so welcome in their home. Their little dog Carmella was also a wonderful host. She had lots of walks and cuddles. Tucker and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and to call them again when I travel.”

“Julianne was great for boarding out medium-large golden doodle for a couple of nights. She communicated with photos and texts to let us know how it was going and what they were up to. Julianne followed our feeding instructions to the letter.”

“Melanie is great, I bring my GSD Simba to her regularly, she’s very supportive and accommodating even on short notices. Simba enjoys his stay with Melanie and her lovely dogs and returns happy and tired. I’ve tried day care and boarding services and I’m very satisfied with all the care she provides is both services. Didn’t see any negative changes on Simba’s behaviour after mingling with Melanie’s dogs. I would like to thank Melanie for her amazing care and would like to highly recommend her services as a dog sitter or boarding.”
“Valerie was so friendly and kind to our blue . He was very well cared and loved for while we were away for the night . I loved how excited she was to have him over . You can tell she really loves taking care of pets .”

“Sharon is the best! She is so wonderful with our dog and we always know she is safe and well cared for. Sharon is very accommodating and helpful with booking requests and drop off/pick up etc. Our dog absolutely loves her visits with Sharon, she is always very excited to go back!”

“Krissy did an amazing job watching our two dachshunds! She was very accommodating to their needs and provided regular updates and photos. One of our dogs has anxiety and Krissy was very patient with him and took extra care to gain his trust. Thank you so much Krissy for taking such good care of Abbey and Milo, they will definitely be back!”

“Andrea was amazing from the start. My boy, Humphrey, was stressed and a little clingy and she handled him beautifully. He was happy and relaxed when I picked him up. Would use again, and will!”

“Susan Y took care of our older pompoo, Eddie, for 2 nights. Eddie didn’t want to leave when I went to pick him up, and he’s got a pretty good home life! My first impression of Susan Y is that she’s friendly, personable and communicative! She will be the first person I call if we need someone to take care of Eddie again! We are definitely done with kennels!”

About: A loving safe space awaits for your furry friend. I have owned dogs/cats/rabbits/chickens/horses for the past 30 years. Currently I have 2 working dogs and a very spoilt terrier who thinks she’s one of the children. The working dogs have been trained since puppies and we rescued the terrier at the age of 2. I currently check in and look after my mums cat in a daily basis and helped care for my mums elderly cat including giving medication. We also have chickens and rabbits so very experienced providing care for them too. I currently work part time and can take dogs to work with me or they are very safe at home lounging on the sofa with the radio on for comfort. I have a fenced large garden and 3 dogs to keep your dog company. I have a little terrier who has the run of the house and 2 working dogs who have kennels. I am more than happy to provide a crate in the house if they will feel more comfortable in the house in a crate.
“So kind, sending so many pictures to show us how Maple was getting along in Her home. I would highly recommend this loving family to care for your pet like they are their own. I will definitely use them again!”

About: Hi! I’m Olly! I’ve taken care of dogs for around 6 years. This started with casual dog walks for friends and turned into a passion of learning dog behaviours, needs and joys! Most recently, I have been fortunate to volunteer for the SPCA and provide longer term care for dogs that needed a safe foster home. From senior dogs to 4-week old puppies, I’ve loved every second. I care for dogs alongside my partner, Georgia, and together we know just how important the peace of mind for your pups whilst you are away. Having recently lost our beloved Standard Poodle, we have a lot of love to give and want to extend that into a safe, kind, patient and caring temporary space for your dogs! Currently, I am on a flexible, work-from-home schedule! This means there is lots of room for pet care, which we offer Monday through Sunday. We love long and short walks depending on your pups needs and lots of time to play and relax too. Right now we are a pet-fee, child-free, smoke-free home! We have a yard that is currently unfenced but closed in and closely monitored. We offer a long leash for outside time and a XL crate for some quiet inside time if needed. Dogs that are not crate-trained are welcome as well :)
“Denise and Mindy were amazing with our dog Lucy. They showered her in love and cuddles while we were away and sent us lots of pictures to reassure us. We would love to have them watch our pup again for us. We highly recommend Denise and Mindy to watch your pup!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
