About: I think it is the connection I make with all doggies. I like to make sure they are very happy to be around me and that they have what ever they need. I adjust my actions to look after senior doggies or puppies and all in between. I am retired and my schedule is usually flexible. I am looking to meet new doggies and look after them during the week. I could be available on weekends if needed. We don’t have any pets and have a large rural property. We would discuss the needs of your dog and taylor their needs to make everyone comfortable. We can accommodate off leash and leased dogs.
About: I've always had my own animals since I was a kid. I would look after my own cats when I was old enough to do so. Then as I got older I would look after neighbors pets while also looking after their children. I had my own golden retriever who I looked after for 10 years until she passed away last year from cancer. At the end of her life I had to administer medication every day. I am currently working full time as a courier so I am only available on the weekends to start. Beginning in June, I will be working a night shift which will allow me to be available during the day Monday-Friday. But don't worry, your pet won't be alone because while I'm working my husband will be home, and when he's working I will be home. I have a fully fenced in backyard for your dogs to stay safe and have fun off leash. We have a bungalow style home which is great for dogs that struggle with stairs. They can sleep on a dog bed on the floor or we have a crate if that's what they are used to. They will get lots of love, playtime, and treats (if allowed). I will keep you updated with pictures and videos of your fur baby while they are in my care.

“Julianne takes this job seriously. She doesn't just provide basic needs; she spends time playing and cuddling the dogs. I enjoyed a stress-free day out because of the photos and videos Julianne sent. I knew my dog was getting loads of attention and love.”

“Bella absolutely loved Miya's daycare. We were very happy that she took Bella in on short notice and had no problem with our multiple revisions to the time of drop-off throughout the day. Bella will certainly come back if Miya will take her. Thanks a lot.”

“Rhiannon was so lovely with our Bernese, Fred-Franklin! She went above and beyond and dropped him back to us when we were in a pickle with our car, and we could tell he had a great day. Very lovely and communicative. :)”

“Debra was great with Cooper and I would definitely book again! Lots of pictures, a great fenced backyard for playing, great communicator, and she made sure Coop was happy and comfortable for his stay.”

About: I have been surrounded by dogs my entire life and have always had a deep love and appreciation for animals. Growing up, I had the joy of caring for Shelties, Golden Retrievers, and Papillons, each teaching me the importance of patience, companionship, and understanding every dog’s unique personality. I currently have a Golden Retriever puppy who is very loved, well-socialized, and has the sweetest, most gentle personality. He is extremely well-behaved and will be starting puppy school in July to continue building his training and manners. My partner is also home and able to help care for him, ensuring every pet receives plenty of attention, supervision, and love. If your pup stays with me, they will be welcomed into a safe, caring, and dog-loving home. I want to be transparent that my puppy may be present during stays, but I always prioritize the comfort and needs of your pet. For walks, your dog will receive one-on-one attention — I will take your pup on their own walk rather than walking multiple dogs together. For drop-ins or visits, my focus will be on giving your pet personalized care, affection, and making sure they feel happy and comfortable while you’re away. Your pet will be treated like family here 🐾 I am a teacher and will be off during the months of July and August, which means I have a very flexible schedule and am available for pet care whenever needed. I have plenty of time to provide walks, drop-in visits, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. Starting in September, my availability will depend on whether I accept a teaching position (LTO), but I will always have availability in the evenings and on weekends. I am committed to providing reliable and consistent care and will communicate clearly with each pet parent to make sure your pet’s needs are met. Creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for every pet is my top priority. Whether I am caring for your pet in my home or visiting them in theirs, I focus on making sure they feel secure, happy, and well cared for. In my home, pets are welcomed into a calm, clean, and dog-loving environment where they receive lots of attention, affection, playtime, and supervision. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I will always take the time to make sure they feel comfortable. My Golden Retriever puppy may be present in my home, but he is extremely friendly, well-behaved, and continuing his training. When caring for pets in their own home, I respect their space and routines while providing dependable care, companionship, walks, feeding, playtime, and lots of love. I know pets feel most comfortable with familiarity, so I aim to keep their normal schedule and environment as consistent as possible. I will always communicate with pet parents, provide updates, and make sure you feel confident knowing your furry family member is safe and cared for while you’re away. 🐾
About: Having personally cared for two beloved dogs and my commitment to take care of them makes me the perfect choice for your dog sitting needs. I am currently working part-time which means I am very flexible with my schedule. Usually afternoon or morning time will be a great time ! In my home or a client's home, I prioritize a safe and comfortable environment for the doggies. I ensure they receive their meals on schedule, following any dietary requirements or restrictions. Regular walks, playtime, and exercise to keep them active and happy. Regular cleaning of food and water dishes, litter accident clean-up. Keeping clients informed with photos and update always! My goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and fun environment, whether in my home or the client's, ensuring that the pets feel loved and well taken care of.
“Sue is an incredible dog care provider. She loved spending her day, playing and interacting with our little girl. Sue was so accommodating and a pleasure to work with and get to know. I am more than comfortable leaving Lily in her care. I know Lily had a wonderful day!”

“I cannot thank Melanie enough for the work she’s doing with my pups! An absolute lifesaver and an amazing support between pet parent and sitter!!! I look forward to working with you more!”
“It really was nerve-wracking leaving our 14-month old pup Nola with someone we just met but Courtney and her mom assured us they will take very good care of Nola and so they did! We are very thankful to have found them whom we can trust and were patient enough on Nola's high energy and excitement being in a new environment. They were flexible on dropoff and pickup. Courtney kept us up to date by sending pictures and messages. We will definitely use her service again!”

“We felt very comfortable leaving Dora with Michelle after meeting her and Tyson. Michelle is very relaxed and has a broad knowledge of dogs and demeanor. I was provided with regular updates and pics of our girl Dora. Dora spent the night with Michelle, her husband and and their dog Tyson. Dora came home happy and tired! Lol. After Dora’s first night away, I would recommend Michelle to any pet mom or dad. ?”

“Sharon has been so welcoming to my family and giving superior care to our dog. The meet and greet was reassurance of her communicating what is best for our dog and its needs. I always feel at peace dropping him off as he’s happy to see her and all the other fur friends she has in her care. I highly recommend her and will be returning as long as she is running her home daycare. It’s a perfect fit a home away from home for our dog.”

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Gravenhurst commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
