“Josey was absolutely amazing! She spoiled our dog with lots of attention, enrichment of all kinds, and gave him a place he could feel at home. Our dog was so happy there! Could not have asked for a better dog sitter. Highly recommend!”

“Our dog Blue had a great time! He came home happy, content and tired. Cynthia and David have a great property, perfect for our curious dog who loves to sniff! They seemed invested in making sure they got to know Blue and that he was comfortable. Also communicated well and sent updates during the stay which were so appreciated! Would definitely book again in the future :)”

“We had a great experience with Tara and Mike. They made our dog feel right at home and were so inclusive with both our dog and theirs . They are all such kind loving dogs. They also had the freedom to roam the house, and could sleep wherever they were comfortable. We received updates throughout the stay, and it was clear our pup was happy and well cared for. We’d definitely book with her again!”

“Ashley was amazing! She helped us out in a pinch with a very last minute request due to an unexpected situation. She even arranged a meet and greet with us in the limited windows of time we gave her. Our dog had so much fun with her and her family and I’m sure will be super excited for another visit. Thanks again!!”

“Mike was great! He sent us a ton of pictures while Lola was staying with him, which was very appreciated. Lola had a great time and came home totally exhausted. I recommend him highly. Lola looks forwards to staying there again.”

“Had a wonderful experience with boarding our dog for a week. They treated him just like their own dog. He got lots of cuddles and treats and all the attention. Got daily updates and pictures that made me feel more comfortable leaving him. I really appreciate everything they did for our Gus definitely recommend and will be rebooking in the future!”

“Catherine and Natz are truly the best! They watched our dog for the second time and she was right at home again! Catherine and Natz are lovely people and amazing dog sitters! We are so thankful we found them here. Thanks again!”

“This was our first time having our boy Ollie, stay with a non-family member/friend, and we truly could not have picked a better sitter to board him with! Britt sent us several updates throughout the weekend which made us feel good and eased our nerves. Ollie seemed to be so comfortable with her and her home. I highly recommend using Britt for any of her services!”

“Could not be happier with the service from Chetan! Molly had a great time at the farm - Chetan sent photos and videos multiple times a day during her stay. We felt so comfortable with her with Chetan and would not hesitate to recommend him to all of our friends!! Thank you again for being so great with our girl!!”

“Courtney did a FANTASTIC job with my, admittedly, troublesome dogs. They're COVID babies and haven't had much socialization as a result. She was able to give them lots of attention and playtime, while keeping them away from the other dogs. And we got daily pics and updates! Thank you Courtney”

“I wish I can give Alison 100 stars. She is the best. She treated my dog as her own, sent pictures everyday & great communication. I was away on vacation & my dog had a hard time with the 1st & 2nd sitter & Alison was able to rescue my dog and welcome her into her home and made me feel st ease. Thank you Alison I definitely recommend anyone to you.”

“Rebekah and her team were wonderful with our dog Loki! As a dog mom dropping her pup off for the first time they were understanding of my concerns and helped us feel very comfortable leaving him in their care. We will definitely be reaching out to them again!”

“We are very pleased with our experience with Dalia and Dan. The communication has been great and they were flexible to accommodate our drop off and pick up times. Dalia respected our time away but sent detailed and timely updates at my request. I could tell by the photos that his stay was as close to the comforts of home as could be possible. Our dog has some covid-induced separation anxiety so it was really reassuring to know how much time and attention they were giving him. We felt comfortable leaving our furry family member in their capable hands and look forward to booking another stay in the future!”

“Katherine provided one on one care for Copper, she was very professional and asked all the right questions to care for him. We were very pleased. Home away from home! We will certainly use her again in the future! Thank you Katherine from Joyce, Les and Copper”

“Buddy had an amazing week in Justine and Inna’s care. He received great care and his complex health needs were covered. If you are looking for a loving home for your fur baby to visit this is the one!!!! I highly recommend 😊”

We will definetly board again with Andrea for future trips!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
