“We had a great experience with Tara and Mike. They made our dog feel right at home and were so inclusive with both our dog and theirs . They are all such kind loving dogs. They also had the freedom to roam the house, and could sleep wherever they were comfortable. We received updates throughout the stay, and it was clear our pup was happy and well cared for. We’d definitely book with her again!”

“Cynthia and Dave were great with our 2 crazy puppies. Our dogs are used to a lot of space and their property offers just that. We loved the regular photo updates too. We will absolutely be back!”

“Josey took incredible care of my dog Varley. Varley is very attached and gets anxious when I leave her. Josey handled this issue well, settled her down and Varley grew very comfortable with the stay. Josey also sent pics and updates which I really appreciated.”

“First visit for our 4 year old cavapoo who is very much a Velcro pup. Katie communicated during visit and sent pictures. Dolly ate which surprised me and appeared very content. Would recommend KATIE 100%.”

“5 star Rating! I adopted a little 'rescued' Scottie -Corgi mix fellow 16 months ago. This was my boys first time away from me, & I was a nervous about my boy feeling abandoned, after such a rough previous start in his young life. Chetan took my boy at only a days notice, welcomed us to bring him the day before to visit the farm with my boy. I dropped him the next morning fir a full day away, and Chetan took him right away to meet the farm animals. My Boy was So interested & at ease with Chetan, & so interested in it all, he was like: "see ya mom!" and then Happily just trusted Chetan. & walked away. Lol Chetan sent videos throughout the day & I could see how happy and comtent Finnigan was. He made a great new friend w another smaller dog...playing wag & tag... and I could see how happy & engaged he was! He explored the farm in the safety of totally fenced in huge spaces and gardens. On top of Finnigan having a blast, we ran into a snag, travelking & were late coming back from our trip & Chetan graciously kept Finnigan overnight. I hope to have Finnigan have future days with Chetan & his wife at the farm. I couldnt be happier with their service. Beautiful people and Chetan is a Dog Whisperer. I would recommend Chetan & his wife & the farm to ANYONE who truly loves their dog. My mind was at ease the entire time Finnigan was at their wonderful farm. Thankyou Chetan.TOP RATING! M. “Catherine and Natz are truly the best! They watched our dog for the second time and she was right at home again! Catherine and Natz are lovely people and amazing dog sitters! We are so thankful we found them here. Thanks again!”

“Amazing amazing amazing. Alison knew what she was doing. Ruby had a blast. She went above and beyond with our pup. Kind and warmhearted, and kept us informed of how Ruby was doing. I would recommend her to anyone. She was great!!!”

“Manuel and Maricris were able to board my little guy super last minute. They were understanding, patient and reassuring. They provided consistent updates, photos and videos throughout the stay. They have two dogs themselves that were the absolute friendliest girls, which made it an easy transition for my dog who tends to try and express dominance. Absolutely would recommend. Can’t thank them enough for their kindness and hospitality!”

“Bill and TRACEY are a great couple and are very caring towards dogs. I would take Casey back there in a heartbeat. He loved it. I could tell by when he got home that he wasn’t depressed from being away from home.”

“I’ve booked with Claudia more than once, and she always does a great job. She takes really good care of my dog and keeps me updated while I’m away. I can tell my dog is happy and comfortable with her. I’ll definitely keep booking with her!”

As I work from home, I am also able to provide consistent companionship, supervision, and attention throughout the day. I am retired and have a flexible schedule. I genuinely love having animals around throughout the day. I truly enjoy the companionship, warmth, and joy that pets bring into a home, and I understand how important it is for them to feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. Having grown up around animals, caring for pets has always come naturally to me. From energetic dogs who love adventure and exercise to cats who prefer gentle companionship and quiet comfort, I take pride in creating a warm, loving environment where pets feel happy, settled, and truly at home. “Ruby had an amazing stay. I was super nervous leaving her for 2 weeks but she had a great time. Courtney and her family were great hosts. We got lots of updates and our dog got lots of snuggles. I finally feel like we can travel again and leave our pup in great hands.”

“Our dog Lucy had a great 10 day stay with Mike. We received daily feedback including pictures and videos. It was great to know she was safe and happy. She had several walks and went to the bush for exersise. She had lots of playtime with Tao and Finn and other dogs staying at Mike’s and loved the big back yard to roam. Mike and Yummi also gave Lucy cuddles and made her feel loved while we were gone. I would highly recommend Mike if you want your dog to enjoy a vacation while you enjoy yours!”

“Sreeparvathi and Vysakh were truly exceptional caregivers for our Goldendoodle during our 10-day trip. From our initial meet-and-greet to the day we picked him up, they were warm, welcoming, and professional. Their genuine hospitality and dedication to our dog’s well being were evident from the start. They went above and beyond to ensure he felt comfortable and safe, providing consistent love, attention, and care. He was fed on schedule, enjoyed plenty of playtime and walks, and had a wonderful time exploring their spacious backyard. They kept him well groomed and tidy throughout his stay. We especially appreciated the daily updates, complete with photos and messages, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our dog was happy and thriving under their care. We are deeply grateful for the kindness, reliability, and one-on-one attention Sreeparvathi and Vysakh provided. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
