Christi is an awesome person and awesome dog walker. My dog is always happy when she shows up and tired out when she leaves. Couldn’t ask for a better person to look after my pet.

Alissa was amazing with Milli!! She came and walked her twice a day for a week and her and Milli quickly became best friends. Milli can be a bit reactive on walks but she handled her without a problem. She was great at communicating and always on time. We will definitely book Alissa again in the future.

About: I grew up on a farm with every kind of animal, which gave me a lifelong love and natural comfort around pets. From an early age, I learned the importance of daily care, routine, patience, and responsibility. I lead an active lifestyle and genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors, making me a great companion for dogs who enjoy walks, exercise, and playtime. As I work from home, I am also able to provide consistent companionship, supervision, and attention throughout the day. Reliable, warm, and genuinely passionate about animals, I take pride in treating every pet as if they were my own. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I am retired and have a flexible schedule. I genuinely love having animals around throughout the day. I truly enjoy the companionship, warmth, and joy that pets bring into a home, and I understand how important it is for them to feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. Having grown up around animals, caring for pets has always come naturally to me. From energetic dogs who love adventure and exercise to cats who prefer gentle companionship and quiet comfort, I take pride in creating a warm, loving environment where pets feel happy, settled, and truly at home. Because I am home throughout the day, your pet will receive plenty of attention, companionship, affection, and supervision - whether that means walks, playtime, cuddle breaks, feeding routines, outdoor time, or simply having a calm and caring presence nearby. I am attentive to each pet’s unique personality and needs, ensuring they feel relaxed, secure, and cared for as if they were part of our own family.

About: Confident leash handler. Experienced with rescues, bully breeds, as well as reactive and senior dogs. Red Cross Pet CPR certified. I'm a big guy and LOVE big dogs (and little ones, too!) I am self employed and can be very flexible with when I'm available. I specialize in last minute bookings Let's book a meet and greet! I am self employed with a very flexible schedule. Last minute house sitting stays are my specialty ! I typically prefer minimum 2-3 day bookings for locations that are over 50km away from me but if you're curious just shoot me a message and we can see what works. I am a confident and physically strong leash handler. Recognizing dog body language (particularly with excitable or reactive dogs) and being proactive is key (Dogs, like us, don't need to say hi to everyone that crosses their paths). Red Cross Pet CPR certified. I am happy to administer any medications they may need while you are gone.

Rebecca is amazing ! She met with me multiple times to get to know my rescue dog and to make me feel comfortable. She sent me pictures and videos and kept me up to date with everything when she was with him. Knowing my dog is in Rebecca's care puts me at ease. She is flexible with scheduling as I am a shift worker and that is so appreciated !! Highly recommend!!

Alice needed a male figure since she had one growing up and no longer does. When I come home, Alice is much more calm than she has been in a long time. So glad Walter was able to give her the exercise and play time she needs :) Thank you!

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life through my family for thirty-three years and cats for twenty-five. Two years ago I adopted my first dog and greatest friend in life, a Golden Retriever named Chewie! Twelve years ago I initially fostered but later adopted two Bombay cats I named Luke and Leia. Luke passed away in 2020 but Leia is still as young as ever at twelve years old! I’m currently looking to make a career change from human services into animal care and seek further knowledge of animals to further my passion for animals! I have a fenced yard for my two year old Golden Retriever so he can roam the yard and do his business as he pleases.

About: I’ve had/taken care of many different types of dogs/cats for as long as I can remember! I grew up with alot of animals in the house and currently have 4 dogs & 3 cats at home! I just moved back to Niagara and I’m looking to hangout with some cats and/or walk some pups in my downtime to get them and myself outside a bit! I usually live in a van fulltime so I can’t take animals into my home but I’d love to come take them for a walk to get out during the day!

About: PET CARE EXPERIENCE I’ve been around animals my whole life — from dogs to hamsters, rabbits, birds, reptiles, and cats — and have cared for many different breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’m comfortable with gentle handling, enclosure cleaning, basic feeding routines, and adjusting care to each pet’s energy, behavior, and routine. I genuinely enjoy learning each animal’s quirks and tailoring my care to help them feel safe, stimulated, and happy. With dogs, I like to incorporate mental enrichment through games and basic trick training — but only if you’re comfortable with it. I use hand gestures paired with verbal cues for clear, positive communication. Some fun commands I’ve worked on include: • “Statue” – freeze in place • “Quiet” – settle and stay calm • “Kiss” – stand still and allow a gentle kiss on the top of the pup’s head • “Out” / “Get your toy” / “In” – for toy retrieval and clean-up routines I previously offered in-home boarding but now focus solely on caring for pets in their own homes. That experience taught me how to manage routines, monitor behavior, and adapt to each pet’s unique needs with patience and care. After taking a break from pet sitting, I’m reopening my availability and excited to welcome new clients again. I’ve worked with pet parents through Rover and personal referrals, and I’m committed to providing dependable, respectful care. I’m currently self-employed and doing flexible gig work, which gives me the availability to prioritize pet care. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting throughout the week, and I’m happy to adjust my schedule to match your pet’s needs. Whether your pet is energetic or reserved, I follow their routine, respect their personality, and ensure they feel safe, mentally engaged, and cared for while you’re away. SCHEDULE I’m currently self-employed and doing flexible gig work, which allows me to fit pet care smoothly into my weekly routine. I’m available for dog walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting, and can adjust my schedule to match your pet’s needs. Since I don’t work a traditional 9–5, I can provide attentive, reliable care — whether that’s multiple visits per day or overnight stays in your home. Your pet will always have someone calm, present, and focused on their comfort and routine. SAFETY, TRUST & ENVIRONMENT I currently provide pet care in my clients’ homes, which allows pets to stay relaxed and comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow your routines closely — from feeding and walks to playtime and downtime — so your pet feels secure and well cared for while you’re away. I used to offer boarding in my home and have experience creating safe, calm spaces for pets. While I no longer board animals at my own residence, that experience taught me how to manage routines, monitor behavior, and respond to each pet’s unique needs with patience and care. I take pet care seriously and treat every home with respect — I’m clean, mindful of your space, and always prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness.

About: I have had cats and dogs since I was a baby! But I’ve been more responsible (walking, feeding, taking them to the vet) since I was about 12 years old. I work from home! So I can take breaks as needed to care for your pets, my schedule is very flexible! Working from home is also a great advantage if your pet needs someone to hangout with during the day. I am an animal lover, and I’ll do everything to make sure every pet feels safe and loved while I’m my car. My house has a fenced yard and I live about a block away from the park!

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Norfolk County choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
