“Christi is an awesome person and awesome dog walker. My dog is always happy when she shows up and tired out when she leaves. Couldn’t ask for a better person to look after my pet.”

About: Confident leash handler. Experienced with rescues, bully breeds, as well as reactive and senior dogs. Red Cross Pet CPR certified. I'm a big guy and LOVE big dogs (and little ones, too!) I am self employed and can be very flexible with when I'm available. I specialize in last minute bookings Let's book a meet and greet! Can't wait to meet your furry family member. I am self employed with a very flexible schedule. Last minute house sitting stays are my specialty. I typically prefer minimum 2-3 day bookings for locations that are over 50km away from me but if you're curious just shoot me a message and we can see what works. I am a confident and physically strong leash handler. Recognizing dog body language (particularly with excitable or reactive dogs) and being proactive is key (Dogs, like us, don't need to say hi to everyone that crosses their paths). Red Cross Pet CPR certified. I am happy to administer any medications they may need while you are gone.

“Rebecca is amazing ! She met with me multiple times to get to know my rescue dog and to make me feel comfortable. She sent me pictures and videos and kept me up to date with everything when she was with him. Knowing my dog is in Rebecca's care puts me at ease. She is flexible with scheduling as I am a shift worker and that is so appreciated !! Highly recommend!!”

“Walter showed up promptly to meet Stryker and we made arrangements for 3 walks while we were on vacation. He showed up, sent pictures and a map of their walk. Put my mind at ease while away that he was getting exercise. Would definitely recommend Walter to anyone looking for pet care. Very satisfied.”

About: One thing about me is that I am a veterinary technician, with that I have been caring for animals for over 5 years and with 17years of experience with my own pets. I do work at a dog boarding facility, caring for animals from morning to night. I have vast knowledge from puppies to seniors. I’m currently working part time, however Mondays and Thursdays are my off days. I can however come and check on your pups from 12:30-2:00pm and 7-8pm Monday to Thursday . If required and upon request more frequent visits can be done. If the pet is to stay with me I do live out in the country no fence however the pet will never be outside unsupervised. Either on a leash or on a 40’ leash. Crated in the house if needed. At a clients home, the pet will be supervised outside weather fenced in yard or not. Crated when I leave if required.
“Kaley was an absolute godsend while I was away in Toronto. She sent regular updates (3 times a day) each time she took him out and took lots of pictures. She even told me when he had a poop/pee! I have no doubt that I left my senior pup in the best hands possible. She put me at ease and treated Opie just like one of her own. I can't recommend Kaley enough!!”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life through my family for thirty-three years and cats for twenty-five. Two years ago I adopted my first dog and greatest friend in life, a Golden Retriever named Chewie! Twelve years ago I initially fostered but later adopted two Bombay cats I named Luke and Leia. Luke passed away in 2020 but Leia is still as young as ever at twelve years old! I’m currently looking to make a career change from human services into animal care and seek further knowledge of animals to further my passion for animals! I have a fenced yard for my two year old Golden Retriever so he can roam the yard and do his business as he pleases.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Norfolk County choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
