I have known them for almost 40 years and when they host a BBQ, the invitation naturally extends to their guests’ four legged family members too. My Piper absolutely loves visiting their property — she runs, plays, and joins in on all the fun. She even knows that when hockey season is on, a goal means it is time to head to the TV room for a treat. Tara and Mike pay close attention to the unique needs of each dog, offering patience, structure, and boundaries when needed. Tara is also the first to share lost dog posts on social media to help reunite pets with their families. This is a household of true dog lovers — people you can trust wholeheartedly to care for your fur baby the way you do.
I highly recommend Tara and Mike for all dog care needs. A very loving home...your pups will be spoiled. Clean, responsible and reliable. We wouldn't take Junior any where else.

Schedule
I’m a retired pharmacy technician, so I’m very familiar with medications and administration. My husband works nights, so there’s always someone here to have naps with. We have over 10 acres of land, including about 8 acres of bush with walking paths. There’s a fully fenced dog run attached to the house for bathroom breaks. We have a large room dedicated to indoor play and rest, and a large, cleared outdoor area for playing fetch and water activities when the weather is nice. There’s plenty of shade for relaxing on hot days.

Safety, trust & environment
We’ve always dreamed of running a boarding kennel or daycare. As dog owners for over 30 years, we’ve mostly had more than one dog at a time. Years ago, we even had a litter of eight Labs! Currently, we have three dogs: Jenny, a retriever mix female we helped rehome when she was 10 months old; Oscar, our 8-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog; and Maverick, our 4-year-old Red Retriever. We also have our grand puppy, Cooper, a 4-year-old Basset Hound, who lives in an attached apartment with our son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. Cooper is with us when his parents work. All dogs are welcome on the furniture and beds. We’re non-smokers and have elderly parents, one in a wheelchair, living with us. We also have a new baby in an attached apartment.
Pets
A typical day
We will have outdoor time in the morning and afternoon as long as the weather allows. We have lots of space to play inside if needed. Toys to play with and mentally stimulating games as well. The dogs will follow me through out the day as I do my housework as well. We have lots of space for the dogs to find a save comfortable sleeping area including furniture and our bed.
