“Angela looked after Cosmo and Neumos for the first part of our vacation. Despite her young age, she showed incredible maturity—she was polite, proactive, and always kept us in the loop with regular updates. She had no prior experience with a megaesophagus condition, but she stepped up to the challenge and managed his routine flawlessly. We highly recommend her!”

“We had a fantastic experience with Valentina! She took such great care of our pets—lots of playtime, attention, and love. It was clear they were comfortable and happy with her. She also went above and beyond around the house, keeping everything tidy and even helping out with our backyard plants. Valentina kept us updated throughout our trip with regular pictures and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind about both the pets and the house. Highly recommend her and would absolutely book again!”

We’ve always been the people our family and friends rely on when they need someone to care for their pets. Having both grown up with dogs and cats, we’re very comfortable around animals and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. Since we don’t currently have pets of our own, we love being able to care for them through this app. We are a couple of engineers working full-time from home, which allows us to be very present and attentive throughout the day. We typically go for walks in the morning, at lunch, and in the evening. We truly enjoy the company of all animals — dogs, cats, small, large, shy, or playful — each one gets our full attention and care. We have a large yard surrounded by cedar hedges, providing a safe outdoor space. We’re also comfortable using crates if needed, depending on your pet’s routine. Since we don’t have pets of our own, yours will receive our full focus and attention. Nous travaillons de la maison à temps plein, assurant une présence constante. L’un de nous étant travailleur autonome avec un horaire très flexible, nous pouvons facilement nous adapter aux besoins spécifiques de votre animal tout au long de la journée. We both work from home full-time, ensuring constant presence. One of us is self-employed with a highly flexible schedule, allowing us to easily adapt to your pet’s specific needs throughout the day. Nous envoyons régulièrement des photos et des nouvelles pour vous garder rassuré pendant votre absence. We provide regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away.
About: I am a huge animal lover and a Dog Whisperer as some of my friends call me. I have been a dog owner as long as I remember. I already have a furry kid Bella, who is very friendly with other dogs and loves play dates with her friends. I am used to dog walking and pet sitting for my family, friends and neighbors. When we moved from US, we had to face many issues in regards to Bellas transport and stay and I know the feeling when you are unable to give your fur kid the best of best while moving or when you are on a much needed vacation. I will always keep you updated with the photos of your pet having fun. I will be right here when you need someone to take care of your pet just as part of a family! Doggy Day Care - Saturday, Sunday and Holidays Doggy Boarding - Friday Evening after 5.30 to Sunday Night 8.00 Dog Walking - Saturday and Sunday Someone would always be with your pup during his/her stay at our place. Depending on the energy of the pup and weather, we will head out for multiple walks in the park or stay inside playing. We have a fenced backyard which would be accessible for play time. In case its snowing or raining hard, we prefer to stay inside and have fun playing with toys, balls and what not? 😊
“Sara is the best! Our cat Lou warmed up to her so quickly, and while we were away, Sara provided daily updates and adorable photos🥰 which gave us so much peace of mind. Lou was relaxed, happy, and well-cared-for when we returned home! We will definitely be booking Sara in the future!🫶🏻”

About: Hi! I’m Noemie – a passionate traveler and animal lover. I’ve been vegan for over 8 years because I deeply care about the planet, its ecosystems, and all living creatures. When it comes to house and pet sitting, I always go above and beyond. While I’m not regularly on this platform, I bring a wealth of experience from various parts of the world. Over a two-year period, I cared for guests’ pets at the pet-friendly hotel where I worked in Jasper, Alberta, while they were off skiing or hiking in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I’ve also lived for two months at an animal sanctuary in Costa Rica, where I looked after rescued farm animals like pigs, goats, horses, chickens, as well as dogs and cats. During my year-long van trip across New Zealand, I continued pet sitting — caring for cats, dogs, and even a hedgehog! I’m comfortable with animals of all ages, breeds, energy levels, and special needs. Whether your pet is high-maintenance or prefers a quieter pace, they’ll be my top priority — and I promise they’ll have a great time with me. I love pet sitting because it gives me the chance to spend quality time with animals, which I miss when I’m not traveling. I enjoy discovering new places and getting to live like a local while caring for someone’s home and furry companions. All of my past experiences have been incredibly positive. I’d be happy to hop on a video call to answer any questions you might have! Looking forward to meeting you and your beloved pet. 🐾 Warmly, Noemie I’m currently working full time from 6am-2pm. So I’m available for afternoon walks or visiting your fur-friend at their home until evening. Also, I’m free the whole weekend :) I am willing to take your dog at his usual dog park or just for a walk, whatever it’s best for him/her. My place is clean and safe for your pet, I’m living by myself so there is no animals/child in a non-smoking place.
“Maha was absolutely wonderful with my kitten, Leo. This was my first time leaving him with a sitter, so I was a little nervous, but she made the entire experience completely stress free. She sent me photos and updates throughout the day without me even having to ask, which was so reassuring. It honestly felt like I was still there with him. Every picture showed how happy, comfortable, and relaxed he was with her. She was kind, patient, reliable, and clearly genuinely cares about animals. She even stayed a little longer when I was running late getting home, which I really appreciated. I came home to a very happy and relaxed kitten, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would trust Maha with Leo again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter!”

About: I've worked with many puppies and dogs including my own. I love working with puppies and helping them learn new tricks, as well as older fur babies that like a slower pace. I currently work from home with a flexible schedule which means your pets can get lots of undivided attention, playtime and walks, and will never be unattended. I recently moved from Toronto to the Montreal region. I'm happy and excited to bring my services to a new community of pet lovers! I only offer house sitting and dog walking at the moment since I no longer have my own space, however I’m certain your pets will greatly appreciate being in an environment they are comfortable in and familiar with while you take a break! Looking forward to meeting you and your fur baby! 🤗 I promise you will get all the best pictures to send to friends and family!
“It was our first time leaving our puppy, and we had a phenomenal experience with Esther. She sent tons of pictures and video updates throughout the evening, and was amazing at keeping our minds at ease. Would highly recommend Esther for all your puppy needs!”

“Chiara looked after my greyhound dog Jolene and my apartment over a weekend. She met my dog in advance and responded to messages promptly. As my first experience with Rover it was success! I look forward to having Chiara dog sit again in the future.”

“Viktoria was great! Our dog has separation anxiety, and being away from me is hard for him. Viktoria was patient and very understanding. Overall, really trustworthy experience, especially as it was our first time doing an in-home stay. Thanks again!”

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Montréal-Est maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Montréal-Est walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Montréal-Est choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 86% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
