Darren and Iris provided excellent daycare for our 14 yr old terrier. We appreciate that they have taken on care-giving to canine companions, especially in a venue where there is difficult to find. The text update was much appreciated. Thank you so much.

Ksenya was fantastic, cannot recommend highly enough! Her pup is very well trained and she understands dogs so that helped us feel comfortable on leaving our two. She took them for multiple walks and looked after our pups as if they were her own.

About: I’ve cared for dogs both big and small in play groups and individual settings, and I know how important it is to help them feel comfortable when they’re away from home — it can be a big adjustment! Your dog will have lots of space to run and play. I’ve also administered medication, so I’m confident caring for pups with a bit of extra need or structure. We’re a family with four young kids who love animals, so any dog staying with us should be comfortable with the happy noise and energy that comes with a busy household. Whether your dog loves playtime or prefers quiet cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel right at home here. 🐶❤️ I also provide daily updates of how your dog is doing! I’m a stay-at-home mom, so I have plenty of time to care for your pup throughout the day. I can host two small/ medium size dogs from the same family in my home. There’s always time for cuddles, play, and making sure your pup feels loved and comfortable while you’re away. I also have lots of experience in walking dogs, so if you are in need of someone doing that, let me know! They will have lots of space to walk around my house so they can feel right at home. I provide clean bedding, but you're always welcome to bring your dog's own bed and blanket if it helps them feel more at home. We also have a fully fenced backyard for supervised outdoor time.

About: I love dogs, and consider our dog a part of the family. I have trained a couple dogs as puppies, and have enjoyed owning and raising them over the years. I am very flexible throughout the week, and am available to take your dog for walks or hangout at our home with our family dog. We have a friendly dog that is good with other dogs, and a big fully fenced yard for them to run and play. I can take your dog for walks and out to do their business.

About: I have owned dogs for most of my adult life and grew up with dogs as well. I place a strong emphasis on good manners and positive training, and I’ve taught all of my dogs a variety of tricks and basic obedience. I currently have a two-year-old female Bloodhound who is incredibly gentle, loving, and submissive—despite her wrecking-ball size—and she does well with other dogs as long as they can tolerate (or match) her big energy! I also have a resident cat, so I only accept dogs that are known to be calm, respectful, and safe around cats. I work from home so my schedule is quite flexible for the most part. My busiest times are after school when I’m running my teenagers to their various activities or engagements! But I’m sure things are very workable on a case by case basis! I have a large fenced yard and as mentioned one playful hound who loves all dogs to help, entertain and tire your dog out! I back onto an off leash area if your dog is good with recall. And I am happy to use crates, my dog is crate trained, and quite happy to sleep there at night!

About: I don't have magic words to tell you. My dog Ruckus goes everywhere with me and I let him run around the no leash zones as much as I can here in Medicine Hat. We go to the dog park as much as we can so he is most safe. Ruckus and I also like to mingle with other friends. Staying safe, cleaning up after ourselves and just having a good time is all we are looking to do. My mother is a dog groomer so I have been actually caring for pets since I was a teenager. I understand it is the responsibility of the dog's handler at all times to keep the pet safe and out of harms way. Ruckus is my family so I take good care of him.

My doggo was very comfortable with Kearra. We did a meet n greet first and when he went to spend part of the day with Kearra he ran in her home like he's known it his whole life. Kearra is very sweet and attentive, making sure to list carefully to my boys story. He's a rescue dog and has little quirks. I look forward to having Kearra watch my boy again in the future. It makes me feel so much calmer when someone cares about my dog as much as I do.

Phil and his wife were amazing! This was our first time using Rover, he walked us through the process with ease. Phil offered to meet prior to the booking so our dog Blue would be comfortable when we dropped her off. You can tell both of them are kind people who genuinely love animals. Blue loved it, she had free reign of the place, a fenced in backyard and all the attention she wanted. Phil posted pictures of her throughout the day and gave updates. It was like dropping the kids off at grandma and grandpas house. They spoiled her and loved on her all day. I would 100% recommend them and will definitely be back. Thanks so much!!

About: I was the devoted owner of a Rottweiler who recently passed, and caring for him was a huge part of my life. While I’m not quite ready to welcome another dog of my own yet, my home and heart still have so much love to give. I understand the responsibility, patience, and commitment it takes to care for a dog, and I treat every dog with the same attention, affection, and respect I gave my own. I’m calm, attentive, and focused on making sure dogs feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I’m happy to follow routines closely and provide updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your dog is being cared for like family. I work from home, so pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I’m home about 95% of the time and only step out briefly for small errands. This allows me to provide consistent supervision, regular walks, companionship, and plenty of attention throughout the day. Your dog won’t be left alone for long periods and will be cared for in a calm, attentive environment while you’re away. I provide a calm, safe, and attentive environment focused on your dog’s comfort and well-being. Because I work from home, dogs are closely supervised and never left alone for long periods. I follow your dog’s routines carefully, including feeding, walking, and any special instructions you provide. My home has a securely fenced yard for safe outdoor time, and I keep a clean, organized space with safety in mind. I’m comfortable caring for large breeds and strong dogs, and I’m happy to provide photo and text updates for your peace of mind. My approach is gentle, patient, and focused on making your dog feel secure and cared for like family while you’re away.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Medicine Hat

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Medicine Hat on Rover is $26.64 per day (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

Many sitters respond to requests in under an hour. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Medicine Hat commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in AB ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
