They were great. Beans had a good time with his friends. His leg was bothering him and they gave him his pain medication. It’s comforting to know he’s in good hands when we go away for a couple days!

Thank you for the last minute booking! Jennifer saved my butt when I forgot to make arrangements for Goose, and was more than willing to take him last minute. She sends updates and pictures, and it's very clear that he has a great time there based on the pictures! He loves playing with her kids and toys. She sent home a little puppy report card this time, which was cute. I don't have to worry when he's with Jennifer!

My dog Piper was very well taken care of and I will use Stacey again for sure! She provided me with lots of updates and Piper seemed to settle in great. Thank you so much for the piece of mind that our fur baby was treated well!

Sharon was the first person I have had watch my two dogs. I was a little nervous leaving them but she is very kind and put me (and the dogs) at ease. Very responsive to my messages and accommodating when I had to extend their stay. Her home and family were very welcoming and I felt my dogs were in great hands. Would absolutely recommend her and will use her services again in the future! Thanks Sharon!

Candace and Travis were absolutely AMAZING with our 4 month old Goldendoodle puppy, Benson! They were not afraid to take on a puppy “challenge” and Benson made a new best friend in their 3 year old Golden Retriever, Murphy! We received lots of photos and videos and text reassurance that our boy was living his best life while in their care. Highly recommend the two of them, and their gentle dog Murphy, anytime you need a safe, comfortable home away from home for your dog! The added Polaroid photos and “extras” we received from them were so special. Can’t say enough good things about them!!

We found that we had to attend a couple of meetings out of town and contacted Darren and Iris to see if they could look after our little furball during that time. She was very well taken care of; we really appreciated the updates. We would definitely utilize their services again.

This was a great place to leave our Bernedoodle Louis. Louis was very excited to play with Maverick and felt very welcome. We were kept up to date every day on how Louis was doing with pictures included. We will definitely use Stacey again! Thank you so much for your great care!!

Candace and her husband were amazing! From the moment we met them both dogs took to them right away. We had no hesitation leaving for the weekend. Our dogs were so happy when we picked them up. We will definitely book with them again when we are in the area

Ksenya and Flex took such good care of my girl! Absolutely made my trip no stress knowing she was in good hands. This was our first time using an over night dog sitter and I can’t express how happy we both are. Loved the pictures and updates about her adventures and progress throughout the time away. Will 💯 be bringing her back for more stays 😁

Candice and Travis were great with our pup Remi. They took her on short notice for us which really helped us out. They shared pictures of her stay with us daily and best of all they let her snuggle with them on the couch which is her favourite thing to do.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
