“Booked Adelle for a 2 night stay with our bernedoodle puppy, and Winnie had a blast! Appreciated the updates and pictures she sent, and messages about how Winnie was going. Highly recommended, will use again.”

“Second stay with Kimberly. Our pup loves her time here, lots of exercise! Kimberly is very flexible and accommodating with pick up and drop off times. Would recommend!”

“Our Bernedoodle had a great time out on the acreage. He was shy at first but Carey did an excellent job making him feel comfortable, getting him lots of exercise and helping him have a great time away from home. Carey was great with communication. Lots of updates and pictures helped us to feel at ease.”

“Enona and Razeen looked after my girl, Charley, for about 12 hours today, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. They were incredibly flexible with both drop-off and pick-up times, which I really appreciated. Since I’d never left Charley with someone she didn’t know before, I was naturally a little nervous. They kept me updated throughout the day with messages about how she was doing, which really put my mind at ease. It was clear she was well cared for and received lots of attention. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Charley with them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for kind, reliable pet sitters.”

“Lindsay was amazing to deal with and very accommodating. Her compassion for dogs is evident in her treatment of Bentley. We felt very confident leaving Bentley in her care. We were very pleased with her service and would highly recommend her to others.”

“Amy & Bryan are beyond amazing! My dog Jerry had the time of his life with walks, fetch, tug of war, and special treats. I am so grateful to have been able to leave Jerry knowing he was welcomed right into their home, loved and so very well taken care of. You both are the best!!!”

“Brigitte was an amazing sitter for Piper. She really loves animals and cares about the dogs in her care. She was highly communicative and sent photos of Piper, which I really appreciated. Her and her daughter took Piper for walks, played with her, and made her feel right at home. Thanks for the awesome service.”

“It was the holiday season and I was in need of a sitter for my pup and Deborah came through for me and my pup Timon whom she took great care and made very comfortable and welcoming for him, ahe is very knowledgeable and very warm that my pup got very comfortable in no time, Deborah kept me updated throughout the stay, and was very easy and fast to communicate with, I would definitely recommend Deborah to anybody and would definitely be returning my pup Timon there again,”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
