“I'm so grateful for Katie stepping in to assist with my two dogs. She is wonderful with them and so comfortable and settled. I have some more trips coming up and will be begging her to come back.”

“Lindsay was absolutely AMAZING with Bailey!! She took the best care of her while we were gone and always kept me in the loop with photos and videos which I really appreciated! Bailey really enjoyed all the cuddles on the couch and walks that Lindsay took her on! Bailey had an unexpected wound on her head when we left and Lindsay cared for it and gave Bailey all of her antibiotics to help it heal up really quick!! I can’t thank Lindsay enough! I know that Bailey has made a new friend for sure!!”

“Robin was great with our dogs. She was easy to communicate with, while we were away. We appreciated that Robin offered to do some “extra”cleaning, to help out with the dogs. I highly recommend Robin, and will hire her for our dogs again, in the future.”

About: I’ve had a dog by my side since I was 6 years old. I love playing fetch, going on walks in parks and at the river bottom. I’ve potty trained my youngest pup as well as teach new tricks. I have experience with senior dogs as well! I work part time at a coffee shop, but I will always be around in the AM and PM. I believe pets should be treated like babies, with lots of love and attention given to them! I make sure all fence doors are closed to keep our furry friends safe. I’m good with crating or sleeping with them! I love making sure pets feel calm, safe and loved unconditionally. I also love giving pets treats when they have good behaviour!
“Ali was incredible! She went above and beyond, even coming over to meet and hang out with our dog before she was scheduled to come and take care of him. She followed all of our instructions and took excellent care of our boy. She sent pictures the entire time, and was an excellent communication. We would absolutely hire her again!”

“My goodness! I felt relaxed and confident that my boys were in good hands. Heather is awesome!! My dogs absolutely love her and so do I. With my older guy she was able to meet his needs with medication and love him as he is. With my big dog with more energy she loved him as if he was her own. Very well rounded care giver. Her experience speaks volumes.”
“McKenna provided great care for Amy. Amy was happily waiting inside my suite when I arrived home. My place was tidy and Amy was well fed. McKenna let me know when she arrived and when she was leaving. I reached out asking about Amy and I got an immediate response that all was well. Thanks keeping Amy safe and content McKenna!”

About: I’ve been around dogs and taken care of them my entire life; I have one family I regularly dog sit/house sit for and have worked with them for at least 12 years. I foster dogs so I can do some training and working with them to get them to be confident and well behaved. I have the kind of personality/ energy that animals are drawn towards so not very often to I find they don’t warm up to me quickly. I have worked with all sorts of types and age ranges nothing bugs me. I will also watch cats, small animals. I’m currently doing casual work so have tons of time, just need a couple days or more notice so I can add it to my calendar with my appointments. Open to walks/ drop in’s or house sitting as well! I foster dogs so I will probably always have someone that can keep your fur baby company; I mostly just do dog walking, drop in checks and house sitting. Under special circumstances I would consider having your pet at my house just there are a lot of stairs and the yard is small
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have two cats that I absolutely love, and I regularly house-sit for many of my friends’ pets. When I’m not with my own or sitting for others, I volunteer at the Humane Society because I genuinely miss being around animals. I understand how important trust, routine, and comfort are, and I treat every pet like my own—making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m currently a student at the University. I am only taking 4 classes so I have lots of free time to take care of animals. I have no animas in my home currently but would care for yours like it’s my own. Whatever your pet needs is what I will do.
About: I have lots of experience with animals including; pet sitting, pet walking, pet grooming and even worked in kennels when i was younger. I have lots of love for all animals and would love to help you in any way i can. At the moment i am planning on going back to school so this is a more casual job for me! This is my main priority at the moment, but later on my availability might change I have two dogs at my parents and i have two cats with my partner. In both homes i am very loving and caring for my animals and treat them as if they are my own child. I believe in gentle care and spending lots of time making them feel loved and special.
About: I have a large fenced yard, a dog companion, and lots of love to offer your fur baby. Near parks and we love to walk. I work part time but am on a leave at the moment and would love some extra canine company. Have had dogs or been around them most of my life. Active lady in middle age. Dogs are allowed on the bed and furniture in my home. I give walks three times a day. Balls are usually thrown in my backyard as there’s lots of space. Great nearby parks to explore. Lots of love and cuddles given.
About: What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals and my experience working with pets of all personalities and needs. I have several years of hands on animal care experience through veterinary clinics, so I understand how important patience, safety, and attention to detail are. I aim to make every pet feel comfortable, loved, and at home while you’re away whether that means playtime, cuddles, walks, or simply giving them a calm and safe environment. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets lots of attention, supervision, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. In a client’s home, I focus on keeping everything familiar and stress-free for the pet by maintaining their usual routine, environment, and comfort items. I follow each pet’s normal feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any specific instructions from the owner as closely as possible to keep their routine consistent. I prioritize safety, cleanliness, and communication, and I always ensure pets are well-fed, exercised, and given plenty of care and companionship while their owners are away.
About: I've taken care of dogs and cats for many friends and family members for over 4 years now. My mom has a golden doodle that I have pet sitter for many times. I am a loving petsitter with a flexible schedule. I'm currently a part-time student at the U of L but my days are pretty flexible so I will be able to spend lots of time with your pet before classes, between classes, and after. I will feed them and provide them with clean water, play with them and spend time with them as much as possible, take them for walks. I will also follow the owners schedule and make sure the owner and animals feel as comfortable as possible.
“Sigh…the wonderful feeling of complete peace knowing my home and pets were well cared for! Jessica is amazing! Mac and Buddy are so happy. Jessica followed all my instructions and allowed flexibility to be built in when weather hit! She’s a gem! Hiring Jessica to care for your fur babies is an absolute BEST decision 😁😀😀😀. 5 stars ⭐️ !”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lethbridge
It was an early start. 7am in the morning. And a full day for Robin. She communicated well before and during her stay. Toby (dog) and Bear (cat) were a bit anxious when I left. But Robin did a great job entertaining and looking after them both that they seemed somewhat disappointed when she left. Won't hesitate to ask her again to house sit for me.

Absolutely outstanding! Ali came and hung out with our 3 giant dogs and 1 Mr Cat for a couple of days while we went away for business. She took excellent care of them all. The house was spotless and she even changed the sheets on the bed. Cannot say enough good stuff about her. 100% recommend!

Ivan was great with Bo & updating me with pictures & videos. Ivan took the time during his stay to work on training with Bo to keep with his daily schedule. From Ivan’s updates Bo got along really well with Ivan. I look forward to having Ivan dog sit again in the future.

Peyton was wonderful. Circumstances led us to using this site, hesitate but we had no choice. We were pleasantly surprised with how things turned out. Peyton kept us up to date with when she arrived, when she left and through the whole visit with pictures and updates. We won't hesitate to use the site or Peyton again!! Great experience.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lethbridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lethbridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lethbridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
