“Excellent communication and very quick to respond. We had our two dogs stay for a week at his home. He made a fence for his backyard just so our dogs could have fun outside. Our dogs were happy and healthy when they were returned. He took many photos and was very ready to receive them. Amazing care.”

“Sarah was fantastic, she sent us updates and our dogs looked so happy and so at home with her and her girls. I think our dogs miss them already. I would definitely recommend.”

“Leah and Steven were great. My dog Ghost enjoyed his time playing with their dogs. They were quick to respond to our requests and took great care of my dog. Thanks again!”

“Our dog stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. The property is beautiful and quite a distance from the road, creating a perfect environment for pets. We received daily photos and updates, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. They also brushed our dog regularly. We’ll definitely book again the next time we’re out of town for an extended period”

“Jenn was fantastic! We were nervous as we had never left our dog before and she put our minds at ease. She was very kind and caring. Sent several photos and updates. She went above and beyond!”

“This was our first time using this service and it was great. We had a meet up beforehand to check compatibility. During Angus’s stay we had daily texts with photos that really made us smile. I think he had fun! Would recommend and we will definitely use this service again.”

About: It can be so difficult to find somewhere you feel comfortable with to leave your pets. We treat your dogs as our own! We have two small Boston terriers who are both spayed and good with other dogs (aged 11 and 8). Lot's of affection, love, and care is given to our animals, and we have a country home with lot's of space and property for exercise and fetch! I work from home so am available to be home with your dog to be let out often. Feel free to reach out if you want to schedule a meet and greet! I currently work from home so am available to let dogs out frequently. We do travel from time to time but will list my availability accordingly. My dogs are not crated, however we are happy to use a crate if this is how your dog is trained. We do allow our pets on the furniture and to sleep in bed however again-whatever your pet is used to is what we will do. We do have a fence at the road of the property however this is not completely enclosed, so I would be putting the dog on a long rope or lead to be safe. I am out in the country with a large yard and bush, but do not leave the dogs unattended outside for any period of time-supervision always. We understand that every dog is taken care of differently and will follow whatever guidelines you are wanting for your pet.

“Pam did an excellent job of looking after our dog Rory! She gave her regular walks and meals and sent us pics to show us Rory was well. Pam is a nice person and I would trust her to care for my dog again!”

“Courtney was absolutely exceptional! Stella had a great time in her care! Her property is amazing! She had excellent communication; sent pictures while out on a walk, and kept me in the loop and reassured while we were away! She definitely went over and above to pamper, exercise and take great care of Stella! We would 100% book again and reccommend Courtney!”

“Ashley was incredibly accommodating with an out-of-the-norm pick-up times and with a last minute booking. Her property has plenty of space for the dogs to play and my dog loved spending time with her pups. She was very communicative and stayed in touch over the weekend. Only downside - my pup came home smelling quite strongly of cigarette smoke. Other than that, would book again!”

“I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Absolutely nop notch and phenomenal. Updates and an absolute joy for us and the dogs (obviously). If you want the right people this is the spot. I would use again in a heartbeat, without question. Amazing.”

“Nicole was so great with watching our dog, Jagger! Knowing that Jagger is super shy, she was able to accommodate a meet and greet prior to picking her up which was super helpful! She was responsive and super flexible with our schedule! It was obvious that Nicole loves dogs so it was easy to leave our Jagger with her!”

“Sandra was absolutely wonderful with Margot! She took incredible care of her, including taking her on a great walk and perfectly handling her insulin routine. It gave us total peace of mind knowing Margot was in such responsible, caring hands. Highly recommend Sandra to anyone looking for a top-notch sitter!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
