About: It can be so difficult to find somewhere you feel comfortable with to leave your pets. We treat your dogs as our own! We have two small Boston terriers who are both spayed and good with other dogs (aged 11 and 8). Lot's of affection, love, and care is given to our animals, and we have a country home with lot's of space and property for exercise and fetch! I work from home so am available to be home with your dog to be let out often. Feel free to reach out if you want to schedule a meet and greet! I currently work from home so am available to let dogs out frequently. We do travel from time to time but will list my availability accordingly. My dogs are not crated, however we are happy to use a crate if this is how your dog is trained. We do allow our pets on the furniture and to sleep in bed however again-whatever your pet is used to is what we will do. We do have a fence at the road of the property however this is not completely enclosed, so I would be putting the dog on a long rope or lead to be safe. I am out in the country with a large yard and bush, but do not leave the dogs unattended outside for any period of time-supervision always. We understand that every dog is taken care of differently and will follow whatever guidelines you are wanting for your pet.

About: Think of this as a boutique, in-home pet boarding retreat — not a kennel. With 30+ years of hands-on experience raising, hosting, and loving just about every creature imaginable — cats, dogs, fowl, rabbits, rodents, and even tortoises (yes, really) — your pet will be in wildly capable hands. Puppies who need gentle training? Seniors who need extra patience and TLC? Shy pets, quirky pets, “my pet is kind of weird” pets? I’ve met them all and adore them deeply. Our home is designed for calm, gentle pet care, nestled on a peaceful 100-acre forest property (freija.ca), which means plenty of fresh air, enrichment, and stress-free vibes. No kids, no chaos — just a quiet, loving environment where animals can actually relax. My husband and I both work from home, so your pet is never left wondering where the humans went. Someone is always around for companionship, playtime, belly rubs, or just existing together (a highly underrated skill). And then there’s Honey, our resident adventure cat and official Welcome Committee. He absolutely loves meeting visiting pets and brings big “friendly camp counsellor” energy to every introduction. If you’re looking for a sitter who treats your pet like family, understands animals on a deep level, and can handle everything from puppy zoomies to senior snoozes — you just found your place. 🐾💚 My husband and I both work from home, which means your pet gets constant supervision, companionship, and engagement — ideal for puppies needing routine, senior dogs who require extra care, and pets who don’t do well being left alone. There are no children in the home, just experienced adults who speak fluent “animal.” Our home is set up specifically for gentle, low-stress pet sitting, tucked away on a quiet 100-acre forest property (freija.ca). It’s perfect for dogs who love sniffing adventures, cats who enjoy calm observation posts, and pets who thrive in a peaceful environment. No crates by default, no overcrowding, and absolutely no chaos. If you’re looking for reliable, experienced, in-home pet boarding where your pet is treated like family (and maybe a little spoiled), you’ve found it. Your pet brings the personality — we’ve already got the love, patience, and forest vibes covered.
About: We’re a dog loving family of four with pugs and a St. Bernese! Our kids love all dogs and can’t wait to give cuddles and snuggles to all their new friends! I am a recess and lunch supervisor at school so I only work 40 minutes two times a day! I'm home a lot to give your dog(s) plenty of playtime and attention! We have a big backyard and I always supervise the dogs when they are out for their playtime! We also have a big front yard where I do short leash walks and live on a quiet gravel road for much longer leash walks. Dogs can be crated at night if that's the usual routine, or have their choice of beds to sleep in - my kids LOVE when dogs choose to cuddle with them at night!
“Lindsay was awesome! She took good care of June, and June got along famously with her dog Ty! She provided pictures throughout the day and kept me posted on how June was doing. Will use her again and again! Thank you Lindsay 😊”

“Natalie was amazing with Casper! She took such great care of him and kept me updated throughout the day with pictures and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. She took him on walks, made sure he was fed, spent lots of time playing with him, and even let him cool off in a kiddie pool and took him to the bay. It was clear that she genuinely cared about making sure he was comfortable and having a fun day. I would absolutely trust Natalie with Casper again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter or walker. Thank you again for taking such wonderful care of my boy! 🐾”

About: My husband and I own a beautiful 100-acre farm in Grey Highlands, 40-minutes from Arthur, and about a 60-minute commute from the GTA. Both of us are avid animal lovers, who are 'addicted' to rescuing. We are a foster family for Sato Saved Dog Rescue out of Brantford, ON and occasionally have foster dogs in our care. Dog-Sitting History... - Worked at Countryside Boarding & Grooming for three years - I have been dogsitting family and friend's dogs since 2013 - Both of us have a combined 16-years experience with dogs A Little About Us... - My husband is a Heavy-Equipment Mechanic out of the GTA - I am a Graphic Designer who works from home full-time - We have a pack of seven rescue dogs - We have six dog-savvy indoor/outdoor cats - Our property is partially fenced (not ideal for flight risk dogs) - We have two large ponds on the property - Lots of space for dogs to run around and play Routine... - First potty time is 4:00 am when my husband leaves for work (this is optional) - Second potty time is between 7:30 am and 8:00 am, and they are let out for an hour - Lunchtime potty is around 12:00 pm, and they are let out for an hour - Dinner time is between 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm - Bedtime potty is between 11:00 pm - 12:00 am *Throughout the day, the dogs are let out as they want, with many short breaks throughout the day. Outside duration is also determined by weather, if it's really gross out - the time will be shortened. *Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any un-fixed dogs (male & female) over the age of 6-months - No Acceptions* Meet-and-Greets... Before a new dog comes into our care, we request that we do one to two meet-and-greets. This gives us the chance to meet you and your dog and see the chemistry / energy with our pack. This also gives you a chance to see our home, property, and meet our dogs. Incidents & Accidents... We believe in 100% transparency when we have dogs in our care. We never want anything to happen when your dog(s) are in our care, but, we always say they are children with teeth. Disagreements can happen, but we do our best to avoid any of that behaviour. When your dog(s) are here, we will give you day-to-day updates; whether it be on their eating habits, bowel movements, upset stomachs, accidents in the house, and even scratches and cuts. We want you to have absolute trust in us, while your dog(s) are with us. Outdoor Safety... For the most part, when dogs are a part of a pack they stick together. However, this isn't always the case should a dog like to wonder OR not have the best recall. In these situations, we like to leash the dog until they gain our trust - we use a long lead, and as they continue their stay here we work on using the leash less and less. We have had a lot of success with this, but each dog is different and we treat them as such! Home Environment... - Dogs sleep in our mudroom at the back of our house* - Small crates can be accomodated, but they are not necessary - We have lots of blankets & beds in the mudroom - Dogs are permitted on our furniture on the main floor (couches) - The mudroom acts as a 'holding area' when they are muddy or wet *Dogs are thoroughly tested in our mudroom prior to bedtime, to make sure that there are no issues, toys are removed at bedtime as well. Typically, the dogs are so tired at the end of the day that bedtime goes off without a hitch. Cleaning Routine... We take great pride in our home, and cleanliness is very important not only for ourselves but for our animals' well-being as well. I use Nature's Miracle Stain & Odour Remover + Vinegar and Water to clean floors and walls. This is done frequently as I have a little OCD regarding the cleanliness of the home. This is done both during dog visits and after each dog visit.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hanover commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
