“We just cannot thank Elizabeth (Jayne) enough for all the love and attention she gave our old boy, Jack while we were away on vacation. Jayne was happy to be in touch with us and regularly sent pics and videos. Jack doesn’t always do well without us, but he settled in quickly and absolutely loved all the walks, love and attention he got at Jayne’s house! Jack is diabetic so it was such a relief knowing that Jayne had lots of experience giving insulin too. We will most definitely be calling Jayne again! Thank you, Jayne!”

“Sheilagh and Teresa are the best! Myah enjoys her stays there so much. Enjoys her walks. Her outside time as she enjoys her freedom of coming and going. Socializing with the other dogs. Finding her spot on thr couch. They are very loving towards Myah. I get pictures very often and they are very flexible with pick up and drop off times. The best!!”

“Vicki and her family were the absolute best home we could have asked for, for our Loki. Vicki sent updates and photos, showing us how how loved and well cared for he was all week. We would recommend Vicki to anyone looking for a wonderful home to love and care for your dog!”

“Alessia took amazing care of our girl, Violet! She got along so well with her dog, and we loved receiving photos and updates throughout the stay. It gave us so much peace of mind. We truly appreciated everything and would highly recommend her!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better home for our Sulley! He was well taken care of, made new friends and may have even come home better behaved than when we dropped him off! We will definitely be using Gretel again for our next vacation!”

“Joanne has been amazing, we just recently started with some walks and had our first weekend of boarding and we are so glad we found Joanne ! She is great at keeping us posted with photos and how the days are going. Our Leo loves her and she takes amazing care of him. We were able to have our first family camping weekend and knowing he was well taken care of kept me at ease. Thank you Joanne!”

“Meaghen and her girls were great with Dyson! He was comfortable and so happy there. We are lucky we found her last minute and she took him in without hesitation. We will definitely ask Meaghen to watch Dyson again during our next stay in Cobourg!”

“Macie stayed with Bryan and Raisa for 2 weeks and we had constant updates and videos to put our minds at ease. She received all the care and love she needs, being an older dog. We have already booked again! Thank you Bryan and Raisa!”

“Loghan too wonderful care of our puppy while we were away. He sent lots of photos and was easy to communicate with. We love that he got our puppy out on lots of walks. She came home exhausted. We will definitely book with Loghan the next time we are heading out of town. Thank you for taking such great care of River!”

“Nicole was so great at updating us enough that we felt content with how amazing the boys were being cared for, but not too much that I was thinking about them all the time. She was very professional, and just a 10/10 sitter. The boys were instantly so comfortable with her, and got many sweet cuddles.”

“We had a great experience when our dog Lexi stayed the night at Esten’s! Thank you for making her feel so at home and sharing lots of pictures to ease our minds for Lexi’s first time staying away from us.”

“My dog never likes kennels or being boarded, ever. But she seemed to really like Jessica's! Jessica accepted our last minute request, and we are glad she did, as we have now found our go-to boarding place. Her dog seemed calm and gentle, which is exactly what our dog needed. I would definitely recommend Jessica.”

“Susan and her family took care of my pups for over a week. I have been so impressed with the care they received. When I picked up my pups, it was apparent that they had a great time - they were happy, tired and well loved. She has a great property in the country with trees, and lots of land for sniffing and exploring. Susan sent me photos and updates when I requested them. She made my pups adorable bandanas with their names as a gift to take home. When my pups ran out of vegetables, she made her own to feed them. She is incredibly generous! I absolutely recommend Susan and will be booking with her again in the future! Thanks Susan!”

“Kevin was very patient and caring with our little Max who is a very shy dog. He made sure the follow the instructions and ensured our dog all the care and attention during the stay. By the time we came to pick our dog, Max didn't want to leave Kevin and his family. Overall I say Max found his second home.”

“Highly recommend Anhi! She’s very caring, sent me regular updates and took good care of our senior dog Bella. She is on a special diet and has many quirks for senior lady that some may not wish to handle. Anhi fit her schedule around our last minute booking, shifted things around to accommodate us and took great care of Bella. We’re so thankful and would use her services again! Highly recommend!”

“I have used Kasi for both day time sitting and overnight for a weekend. Both times my puppy seemed to have had a great time, excited to go back the next day and was very tired after a couple of days of play time with her dogs. Will use Kasi again.”

“Marta was our first sitter since moving to Peterborough and what a find! Great meet-and-greet, reliable communication and awesome updates throughout the day. My dog was in loving hands and I had peace of mind while she was in Marta’s care.”

About: I love animals, always have. Had a dog growing up, 4 cats over the years, hamsters, birds, guinea pigs, hedgehog and don't forget the fish! The reason I'd like to do Rover is recently my dog Prince who was 16 and just passed over the rainbow bridge in January. We are lost without him, and would like to have a dog around every now and then to love your pet as I would my own. Update just lost my cat Gracie of 17 years on April 17th. No pets in house. I currently work full time but my partner works part time. We are home most weekends but would also, if allowed, take your dog out with us.. walks, visits etc. We have a fenced yard, dogs are allowed on the furniture, there are no kids in our home, just two adults. I have never crated a dog, but if that's what they prefer at night I'm fine doing that. Would love them like they were mine...

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cobourg
Alessia was great. It was our first time leaving our pet with someone overnight. We let Alessia know our dog had a lot of energy and needs lots of exercise. She did just that. Let him play outside and took him on two long walks. He had a great time, he rested the entire next day. She send us a couple of photos, and kept us updated. We will rebook with her.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
