“Sarah and Family were great. Our German Shepherd, Fritz, spent a week with them. We were provided with alot of updates, and pictures and videos of a very happy boy with lots of walks and playtime.”

“We just cannot thank Elizabeth (Jayne) enough for all the love and attention she gave our old boy, Jack while we were away on vacation. Jayne was happy to be in touch with us and regularly sent pics and videos. Jack doesn’t always do well without us, but he settled in quickly and absolutely loved all the walks, love and attention he got at Jayne’s house! Jack is diabetic so it was such a relief knowing that Jayne had lots of experience giving insulin too. We will most definitely be calling Jayne again! Thank you, Jayne!”

“After a really nice meet & greet we felt very comfortable leaving our fur baby with Sheilagh & Teresa. We weren't disappointed. Sheilagh sent update pics several times a day, and it looks like he had a blast! You just can't fake his 'happy face', and he had it a plenty. Would definitely recommend, and we'll definitely book with them again!”

“Wonderful experience. We needed a sitter on a moment’s notice and we were well received. Our zeus had a wonderful playdate had plenty of activity and we picked him up all smiles. Highly recommend.”

“Our Millie had a terrific time with Vickie and her family! She was well cared for. Vickie was easy to communicate with and was excellent at keeping us up to date on Millie’s visit. Highly recommend!”

“Joanne has been amazing, we just recently started with some walks and had our first weekend of boarding and we are so glad we found Joanne ! She is great at keeping us posted with photos and how the days are going. Our Leo loves her and she takes amazing care of him. We were able to have our first family camping weekend and knowing he was well taken care of kept me at ease. Thank you Joanne!”

“Alessia took amazing care of our girl, Violet! She got along so well with her dog, and we loved receiving photos and updates throughout the stay. It gave us so much peace of mind. We truly appreciated everything and would highly recommend her!”

“Loghan took great care of my dog and cats while I was on vacation for 8 days. He shared lots of updates and photos while I was away and was very accommodating with his timing to support my arrival home from the airport. I felt confident that my pets were in the great hands while I was away”

“Nicole was so great at updating us enough that we felt content with how amazing the boys were being cared for, but not too much that I was thinking about them all the time. She was very professional, and just a 10/10 sitter. The boys were instantly so comfortable with her, and got many sweet cuddles.”

“Best decision ever. Our pup took to them right away and was so happy and calm at drop off and pick up. Definitely will work with them again. Thanks a million!”

“My pup is a nervous, skittish rescue who needs a lot of love and patience. Jessica was able to accommodate her needs, making sure that she was eating and drinking despite her resistance. Her dog, Snow, was friendly and I could see her dog and mine hanging out together in the photos and videos she sent. Jessica was very accommodating for drop off and pick up times when plans didn’t quite go my way. I’m glad to have found someone close by who I can trust for future stays!”

“Caregivers extraordinaire! My 5 year old Italian Greyhound, Loki, was in great hands during an overnight stay with Dan and Cass. There were no shortage of blankets to make Loki feel very welcomed in their home providing the warmth and comfort that all Iggys enjoy. I felt very at ease knowing Loki was in a safe and happy environment and with a fellow playmate to keep him company. There will definitely be more sleepovers in the near future.”

“Esten and family were sooooo good with Cooper! They made sure he was super comfortable at all times - even through the fireworks and thunderstorms. He was very well taken care of! Highly recommend them.”

“Brooke was absolutely amazing with my dog! From the moment they met, I could tell she genuinely cared and knew how to handle dogs with love and confidence. She kept me updated with photos and little notes that gave me total peace of mind while I was away. My dog came back happy, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of. I’d trust Brooke again in a heartbeat—highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and kind pet sitter!”

About: I love animals, always have. Had a dog growing up, 4 cats over the years, hamsters, birds, guinea pigs, hedgehog and don't forget the fish! The reason I'd like to do Rover is recently my dog Prince who was 16 and just passed over the rainbow bridge in January. We are lost without him, and would like to have a dog around every now and then to love your pet as I would my own. Update just lost my cat Gracie of 17 years on April 17th. No pets in house. I currently work full time but my partner works part time. We are home most weekends but would also, if allowed, take your dog out with us.. walks, visits etc. We have a fenced yard, dogs are allowed on the furniture, there are no kids in our home, just two adults. I have never crated a dog, but if that's what they prefer at night I'm fine doing that. Would love them like they were mine...
“Susan and her family were really great with Elodie and Butters. I could tell right away that my dogs would love their stay. I really liked how they live all around fields so that the dogs have endless opportunities to run around and play. It felt like I was dropping them off to their own little vacation!”

“This is the first time I have gotten Kevin to look after my 8 pound, very nervous dog and he was wonderful!!! He kept me updated on how she was doing and provided some photos. I am so very glad I have found Kevin, I have already booked him for the summer when I will be away. Would not hesitate to recommend Kevin!”

“Lisa is an especially caring and organized dog sitter. Her home is well suited and equipped for the task and Lisa is fully engaged as a dog sitter and provides significant feedback. Thank you, Lisa!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
