My dog was very comfortable and happy right away on meeting Lisa at her house. Great backyard and lots of space to explore and play inside as well. Friendly and asked all the right questions, would recommend.

Gretel took good care of my puppy Luna for the day. She constantly updated us with pictures and photos throughout the day. Being our first time leaving Luna alone, we were relieved that we can leave her somewhere she is comfortable and looked after well.

About: With over 15 years of hands-on experience working with animals, I bring a calm, confident, and knowledgeable approach to every pet in our care. I am an experienced Rover pet care providers and share the same dedication to providing safe, reliable, and personalized care for every animal I meet. My background includes professional dog handling, dog training, and dog walking for a company, giving me experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. I have extensive experience caring for dogs, cats, reptiles, and other small furry animals, allowing me to confidently meet a wide variety of pet care needs. I am comfortable with feeding routines, enrichment activities, habitat maintenance, and administering medications when required. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. I am trained in dog CPR, and I prioritize safety, structure, and positive reinforcement in every interaction. Whether your pet needs a reliable walker, patient caregiver, or someone who understands behaviour and individualized care, I tailor our services to fit their unique needs. Animals aren’t just a job for me—they’re my passion. I genuinely love building trust, providing enrichment, and ensuring every pet feels comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. We offer flexible, around-the-clock availability to meet your pet care needs. Whether you need early morning walks, midday drop-ins, evening visits, overnight care, or last-minute bookings, were happy to accommodate a schedule that works best for you and your pet. I understand that every household runs differently, and pets don’t always stick to a 9–5 routine. That’s why I make myself available all hours of the day, including weekends and holidays, to provide consistent, reliable care when you need it most. Your pet’s routine, comfort, and well-being remain my priority, no matter the time. Safety, trust, and comfort are my top priorities when caring for pets in both my home and my client’s home. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any medical or behavioral needs to ensure consistency and reduce stress. I maintain a clean, calm, and pet-safe environment, closely supervise interactions, and follow feeding, exercise, and medication instructions exactly as provided. In a client’s home, I respect your space while keeping your pet’s routine as normal as possible — including walks, playtime, enrichment, and quiet rest. In my home, pets are treated like family, with a secure environment, structured care, and plenty of attention. I also monitor for any changes in behavior or health and communicate updates so you always feel confident and informed while you’re away.

About: Hi! We are Star Sitters here on Rover, with 6 years of professional pet care and 18 with our own animals. Someone is always here in our calm, safe, and dog friendly home so your dog can spend the day with company instead of being home alone. We do live with our loveable Boston Terrier, Gus, and we are often found hiking on dog friendly trails on the weekend or spending time at the lake. We are very active, enjoy being outside and think dogs should be too - Gus has a lot of energy so daily excercise is key already here. I work as a professional planner and Scott works from home and we are both free on weekends with flexible schedules. We spend a lot of love and time on Gus, who, like us, loves being around other dogs. We would be happy to meet you and your doggy in advance so you can get to know us. Emily works in the office four days per week just a few minutes from home, Scott works from home. Neither of us work on the weekend. Our home is save for any animal - we're smoke free, drug free with no children. Gus loves other dogs and always enjoys having a friend around. Our back yard is mostly fenced in and it's tucked behind. The front is also mostly fenced with a small garden fence.

About: My entire life has been richly blessed by the presence of dogs. For over 17 years, I have had the joy and responsibility of being a dedicated dog owner, and my experience is rooted in a home filled with a vibrant pack of nine dogs, each of a different breed and size, who taught me the beautiful diversity of the canine world. While my family back home cares for them, I currently have my own faithful companion by my side—a constant reminder of the profound bond between a person and their pet. This lifelong immersion has given me a deep-seated passion for canine care that extends beyond my own animals. I have frequently provided care for the pets of friends and family, treating each one with the same love and attention I would my own. What I cherish most is getting to know each dog as the unique individual they are. I understand that every "fur baby" has their own distinct personality, preferences, and quirks, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to their care. I would be absolutely delighted to learn everything you are willing to share about your beloved companion—their favorite games, their daily routines, their little quirks, and any specific instructions you have. Please know that you can always feel comfortable letting me know precisely what to do and what to avoid; your guidance is my most valuable tool. It would be my genuine privilege and pleasure to provide your dog with a fun, safe, and nurturing experience, filled with engaging play and heartfelt companionship. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you and your wonderful dog. 🐾 My daily schedule is built around the needs of the pets in my care. I treat their routine with the same importance as any other essential daily commitment. The hands-on duties of pet care, like bathing, feeding, and play, are tasks I've always genuinely loved doing for my own dogs and my relatives' pets. I am truly excited to provide that same level of dedicated, hands-on love and attention to your furry baby! please do let me know of how you take care of your pet and I will maintain that for me and your dogs relationship on going.

About: I’m an active dog lover who spends my days walking my own energetic Blue Heeler, hiking local trails, and heading to the beach. I offer reliable dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet sitting with plenty of attention and care. I am home weeknight evenings and available all days on weekends. In summer I have full availability to meet your pets needs at any time! I can also offer training and enrichment if requested. Your pet will get personalized care in a calm, loving environment! I am currently working full time as a teacher but I am home most days by 4:30pm. I have full availability to be home and care for your pets during the summer. I have a large home with plenty of space for your dog to run and play. I have my own dog who takes a bit of warming up but then will keep your fur baby company! I have an unfenced yard with a leash for potty breaks but can also go for lots of walks. About: I’ve spent my whole life caring for animals, and I truly can’t imagine a home without them. Over the years, I’ve raised and trained dogs from puppyhood—including golden retrievers, labs, and shepherd mixes—and loved them through every stage of life until their senior years. I’ve also cared for cats for more than 25 years, including fostering pregnant mothers and nursing newborn kittens. What really sets me apart is my experience with pets that need extra care: elderly, injured, or special-needs animals who require patience, strength, and compassion. Through volunteering with LAWS and the Humane Society, I’ve had the privilege of supporting animals in all kinds of situations. I’m active, reliable, and strong—I go to the gym regularly—and I’ll bring that same energy, love, and dedication to caring for your pets as if they were my own. Now that I’m semi retired, I have all the time in the world to dedicate to something I truly love—caring for animals. My days are wide open, which means I can easily adjust to your pet’s schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, or just keeping them company. Spending time with animals has always been one of my favourite pastimes, and it brings me joy to make them feel safe, happy, and cared for. Whether it’s a relaxed cuddle session with a senior cat, an energetic walk with a playful dog, or checking in throughout the day, I have the flexibility and the heart to give your pets the attention they deserve. When I care for pets in my home, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family. I keep a calm, pet-friendly environment with lots of love, attention, and plenty of time for play or rest depending on their needs. If I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely, whether that means sticking to specific feeding times, administering medications, or keeping up with favourite activities. I know how important consistency is for animals, so I make it a priority to keep their day-to-day life as familiar and stress-free as possible. No matter the setting, I give each pet the patience, care, and affection I’d want for my own.

About: I had a family dog for 13 years. I have been on rover for a couple of years now and I have had all different kind of experiences through the app. I have had many different dog walking clients from puppies to senior dogs. I have done house sittings anywhere from 1 night to 5 week long stays, I’ve even just dropped in for a few hours to keep your animals company and take them on walks. I have looked after all kinds of dogs and cats and even chickens. I am so passionate about animals and making sure your animals are comfortable and happy during your time away! I just recently got 2 puppies so I have been training them and looking after them so I have recent experience with puppies as well. I currently am working part time but I am able to adjust my schedule to accommodate for your needs. If your animals can only be left alone for a certain amount of time I am more than happy to work around those hours. I typically don’t do house sitting in my own house. I feel it’s best for the animals to stay at their house so it’s an easier transition into having me look after them. The animal is typically a lot more comfortable having someone new around if it’s in their own home from my experience.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's leash and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalized care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Cobourg commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
