About: I’ve had the pleasure of owning many different kinds of dogs and a few cats, and caring for animals has always been something I enjoy. I also work at Pet Supplies Plus, which gives me an opportunity to be around pets and learn more about their needs. I’m comfortable caring for pets of all ages, from playful puppies and kittens to older pets who may need a little extra patience and attention. I understand that every animal has their own personality and routine, and I believe in treating every pet with the same love, kindness, and respect I would give my own. Whether your pet needs walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, or simply some extra company while you’re away, I’ll do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I also understand how important it is to follow your instructions and keep you updated while you’re apart. Your pets aren’t just animals—they’re family, and I’ll treat them that way! 🐾❤️ My schedule offers some flexibility throughout the week, and I’m usually available on Thursdays. I typically work Mondays and Saturdays, but I’m available for pet care after my shifts. I’m also available after 7:30 p.m. on evenings when my wife takes over with our daughter. Since my availability can vary depending on my work schedule and family commitments, I communicate with pet parents ahead of time to make sure we find a time that works for everyone. I want to provide dependable, loving care while making sure every pet gets the attention and time they deserve. Safety, trust, and your pet’s comfort are always my priorities. As someone who has owned different kinds of dogs and cats and works at Pet Supplies Plus, I understand how important it is to pay attention to each pet’s individual needs, personality, and routine. When caring for pets in their own homes, I do my best to keep them comfortable by following their usual feeding schedules, exercise routines, and any special instructions provided by their owners. I’ll make sure they have fresh water, a clean environment, plenty of attention, and a safe space to relax. I’m also happy to provide updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. During walks and drop-in visits, I prioritize safe handling, secure leashes, and keeping a close eye on your pet and their surroundings. I’m comfortable caring for animals of different ages and understand that puppies, adult pets, and seniors can all have different needs. I believe trust is earned through patience, responsibility, and good communication. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and respect I give my own, because every pet deserves to feel safe, loved, and comfortable!

About: I have always been a dog lover & a cat lover! I have had dogs & cats since a child growing up.Bunnies, birds, fish, a ferret, I have adopted my dogs & cats and saved a dog, kittens and cats. My baby that I have now is my beautiful black lab named Princess Leah! Princess Leah makes me very happy everyday! I have a handsome, loving, very sweet, talkative cat named Shadow Bear who I adopted. Shadow Bear is my world too! I know I can make your dog, cat or animal happy too! I love the animal for who it is! I look at all animals needs and wants all very differently because not one has the same. We all have feelings and even our fury friends do! I will provide whatever it takes for your fur baby to be happy, comfortable and in a healthy environment. I have been pet sitting, dog walking, exercising, training, keeping your fur baby active, doing therapy with their back legs, joints and mobility, administering medicine, shots, clipped nails, cleaned ears, bathed, brushing, feeding, constantly changing water, keep hydrated, pampering and just loving your animal like he or she needs to be. I took some classes and this one I took at my vet which I was amazed because they taught me how to drain the adrenaline glands and some dogs have a severe issue with that quite often. My dog does! There are classes that you can go in and they will take the time and show you for some things. I like to participate in these classes so I have knowledge when it comes time to if anything happens. I started dog walking at 12 years old. A long with other jobs of course throughout life. I have been pet sitting for almost 15 years. I am a full time pet sitter with all of your needs and wants for your fur baby as if your fur baby was my own! You see...... I am with my baby almost all day everyday and as you can tell this is my life. Princess Leah has been my life and is my life! Shadow Bear is too! One more thing! I love to walk, I am very cheerful and I love to talk up a storm. I always talk to my Princess Leah & Shadow Bear. I love all animals! I love people too, but let’s be honest here, not as much as my fur babies! I do not even call my dog a dog. She means that much to me! I live in a rural area and I have some land, I have my own house, I have a huge house, lots of windows, my house is cheerful, I am cheerful, I cook for my fur baby friends, Your baby will not only be loved, but cared for, well taken care of, but part of my family! I love to walk! I also love to have fun and enjoy life! Walking your angel is a joy to me!. Not only will it be their exercise, but enjoyment for your loved one! I do house sitting and cleaning too. Please call me. I am a very honest, loving, compassionate, caring person who works well with people too! I love my animals! I will board your fur babies while you are at work and I also will work around any last minute plans. I also do doggy day care, Check-in’s, Walks, Activities and more! Just drop me a message on here! 🤗 I love what I do! I love being around animals! I do this full time as my job even though it is more like a passion than a job to me. I stay at people’s houses. I travel and do pet sitting, I stay over night a lot. The most was a week that I worked for with a client and stayed at their house the whole time. I will also do day sitting or check-ins but mostly overnight and pet sitting during the day at my clients homes. Traveling is a lot and a lot of people like when you stay at their homes with their animals and care for them. The animals are safe and feel comfortable in their own environment. I make sure that all my fur babies are cared for, loved, given the attention that they need and all their needs are met. I am a traveling pet sitter now. I like to stay within the 30 mile radius even though I have done some farther away, but for now I want to stay with the 39 mile radius. I use to board animals in my home until I sold my house just recently. Now, I travel to my clients homes. I mostly stay overnight and for more than one day because my clients go away on vacation. I do many services for my clients. I walk your animal, feed your animal whether if it’s can food, dry food or home made food which I have made home made food for my fur babies before and still do. I administer medication to animals, groom them, brush, bathe, keep them active and help them with their mobility, Play, do fun activities with my fur babies, train, keep them busy and entertained and plenty more. I make sure your animal is well cared for, loved like he or she was my own, given the attention it needs, Be happy and even more. I go over and beyond for my fur babies and each and everyone always feels safe, comfortable, loved, happy and etc….. I have a lot of clients and some of them I care for during the Summer when they go away a lot and some of my clients I care for during the week and on wknds. I am very easy to work with because I am a good person. Good people work with good people. All my clients know how caring I am and feel good about leaving their loved ones with me.

About: I absolutely love dogs. My wife's family has always had dogs. They currently have a German Shepard and a chocolate lab. I absolutely adore them. I have a large fenced in yard, I am also very flexible to come and sit anytime you need. I love taking dogs for a walk and I love playing with them at the park especially fetch! I am very reliable and safe and come from a dog family. I will love and care for your dog like I it is my own. My children are now in middle school and high school and they love dogs as well. I can provide loving and affection for your dog and care for it like it was my own. I hope to hear from you soon Taking care of a pet just becomes part of my everyday flow. You feed them, take them out or clean up after them, and make time to play or cuddle a bit. Most days involve quick things like feeding and walks, while once a week you might do a deeper clean or grooming. It’s not too hard once you get into a rhythm—it just becomes routine. I make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for, whether they’re in my home or a client’s. That includes feeding them on schedule, giving them fresh water, and making time for walks, play, or snuggles—whatever they need to feel happy and relaxed. I stick to their usual routine as much as possible to keep things familiar. If I’m in a client’s home, I also make sure everything stays clean and tidy, and I always send updates so they know their pet is doing great. I also have a fenced in yard.

FAQs for House Sitting - Burt

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burt walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burt maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burt choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
