About: Hello! With over five years of experience with in-home pet care, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide range of animals—from dogs and cats to chickens, horses and ducks—each with their own unique personality and needs. What sets me apart is my commitment to providing personalized care. I carefully follow each pet’s specific instructions to ensure their routine, comfort, and safety are always prioritized. Your pets are not just animals to me—they're family, and I treat them as such. With anxious & stressed pets, I really take my time to get to know them. I allow them to go at their own pace & provide them plenty of space until they’re comfortable. Having anxious dog myself, I understand the importance of patience & compassion. Not every dog or cat wants to be loved on by a stranger in their home and to be honest, I don’t blame them haha! With them I take my time & make sure I’m meeting their basic needs until they’re ready for lovin’s! In my experience i have also learned that it’s not just about taking care of your pets, but your home too. I will take care of additional tasks like spot cleaning, bringing in packages & mail, water plants, etc.! Please do not hesitate to ask! Willing to negotiate pricing for multi-pet homes (4+ pets). Thank you!!! I work full time doing Rover, which gives me the flexibility to offer reliable availability throughout the week. Whether you need a regularly scheduled visit or last-minute care, I’m often able to accommodate your needs with short notice. Safety is always my top priority. No matter the location or type of service, your pet’s well-being comes first. I take every precaution to ensure they are never put in unsafe situations and always cared for with caution, attention, and responsibility. Some listed below: Avoiding interactions with other dogs & people during walks No outside treats or human food unless directed to Constant supervision when your dog is outside & in areas of your home that may have hazards Limiting phone time during walks No friends or family brought over to your home without your permission Picking up & putting away any thing in your home that your dog may choke or chew on. Being vigilant for cars, people, & off leash dogs during walks I will not walk a dog that I do not think I can walk safely- knowing my limits Being vigilant when entering & exiting your home to ensure no escape artist sneak out. And so much more! Your pet’s safety is my top priority!

Laren stayed for a 3 day weekend with our 3 dogs and 2 cats. She did a fantastic job. She followed through on all our instructions and requests. She was prompt in returning messages and sent us photos too. She even made friends with our very shy cat who will normaly never even be around strangers. She's truly a "cat whisperer"! We recommend her highly!

Bella did an amazing job pet and house sitting for us while we took a short getaway for three nights. She was communicative throughout - which eased our minds as we had recently adopted one pup and this was our first time away. Our dogs - and cat! - were obviously well cared for upon our return, and Bella left the house in perfect order. Would easily recommend anyone to book her, and we hope she'll come back when we take our next adventure!

About: I currently volunteer at the local animal shelter to help animals in need. I have a lot of experience with walking dogs and even some minor training. At home, I have a 15-year-old border collie mix and 4-year-old tabby cat who are both rescues. In addition, I work as a nurse, so I am more than willing to administer medications and injections. Being that I have an elderly dog myself, I am no stranger to senior care or special needs. I am available most days to help with taking your dog out or checking in on your kitty. I am available most weekends as well. I cannot offer pet boarding, but I am willing to check in on your furry family members! I am always willing to lend a hand when life gets busy. I can also administer CPR, medications, and injections as well.

About: I have taken care of my own dog as well as taken family friends dogs on walks and runs. I am currently training for a half marathon, so if your dogs loves long runs or long walks I would love to help them get outside and exercise. I currently am working part time on top of school. Most days I can take dogs on a walk or run in the morning to later afternoon! I currently live in an apartment where pets are not allowed, so for now I will stick to taking dogs on walks and runs whether that’s around a safe neighborhood or at a park.

About: I have worked with animals off and on my whole life. I’ve had four dogs growing up including my current dog. I do have experience with epilepsy since my current dog does have it. I can also help with basic training such as walking nicely on a leash. I am currently trying to find a new career so working with doggos in the meantime will help me in that journey. I am open for walks or checks in during the week, but can only do stayovers on the weekends. I unfortunately can not have pets at my current residence as it is my parents, but I am more than willing to multiple stops or even overnights for your pets. I will love and care for them as if they’re my own.

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and truly love caring for them. I grew up with a variety of pets including cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, and bunnies, which gave me a deep appreciation for animals of all kinds. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience providing pet care, including overnight stays, administering medications, and keeping pets comfortable and happy in their home environment. I always focus on maintaining each pet’s normal routine—whether that’s mealtime schedules, daily walks, playtime, or a bit of training and structure. I’m also experienced in caring for senior pets and can support their specific needs with patience and care. My goal is to treat every pet like family and give you peace of mind while you're away. I’m happy to send daily updates and photos so you can stay connected and see all the love your pets are getting. Send me a message any time for a quick meet & greet or a free short walk—no commitment, just pets and peace of mind! I have both a dog and cat that I take care of every day. My dog is a four year old energetic lab/springer mix and I have a two year old orange kitty. I love getting outside and having playtime or going on walks with my dog and playing with my cat. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or visiting yours, their safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I create a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment, following any specific instructions you provide—like feeding schedules, medications, or routines. When pets stay with me, my home is set up to be a safe and welcoming space where they can relax and feel at ease. During drop-in visits, I’m respectful of your home and make sure to keep everything just as I found it. In all cases, I take the time to build trust and move at each pet’s pace to ensure they feel secure and loved. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible—for both you and your pets.

About: Hi! I’m Kylie, and I would love to be your next trusted pet sitter! I’ve had pets my entire life, and I’m ready to treat your pets just as I do my own - with careful care and lots of love. I have pet sit on and off for friends and family over the years and I understand how important it is to be able to leave your four-legged family member with someone you can trust. Whether its long walks, training enrichment activities, or cuddles on the couch, I’ll prioritize you and your pets needs during our time together. I’m currently a full-time graduate student at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, and during my semesters I typically have classes from 7am-3pm. During that time I typically have at least a 30 min break in between classes that would allow me to stop in to take care of your pet! In your home, I will respect your pet’s routine and areas that it prefers to play, cuddle, or run around in. If you have any special guidelines or needs from me while I care for your pet in your home, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

About: I love dogs! I enjoy being with them, as much as they enjoy being with their hooman counterparts. I do not have a pet for myself, yet. Meantime I want to give others a chance to travel without worrying about trying to find where there dog will go. I've dealt with pet care since a kid, we've always had a pet in our home. Any time I make a friend who has a dog or two, I'm always up for doggy sitting, since I know it can be hard to find someone reliable to watch after your pet or home. Last minute notices, if I'm around, I'd be more than welcome to watch your best bud for you. The military isn't a set in stone type of gig, but when you need someone just give me a ring.

About: I love to babysitting dogs because they always make me smile, have fun and love to play with them. I am a dog lover I always make sure dogs eat healthy, make sure they are happy and make sure they go out. I do have my own dog and I always make sure everything okay and what she need. I will always make sure I treat the dog like my own. I will always make sure they have the best care I can provide like I do with my own dog. I enjoy seeing that happy mood once the dog is walked, fed and played. I know when I am with animals, I feel relaxed instead of being stressed out because I feel that they believe in me.

About: I have a background in both education and dog training, so I focus heavily on structure, communication, and understanding each dog’s individual needs. I have experience working with dogs of all ages, energy levels, and personalities, including puppies, high-energy breeds, and dogs that benefit from extra patience or routine. I’m CPR certified, experienced with enrichment-based care, and comfortable reinforcing basic training skills such as leash manners, recall, sit/down, place, and calm behavior during visits and walks. I also have experience with hunting and working breeds, so I understand the importance of both physical exercise and mental stimulation. What sets me apart most is that I genuinely enjoy building trust and relationships with the dogs I care for. I prioritize safety, consistency, and making sure each dog feels comfortable, engaged, and well cared for while you’re away. I also provide reliable communication and updates so owners can feel confident their pets are in good hands. I intentionally keep openings in my schedule for walks, drop-in visits, boarding, and individualized care. I currently have availability most mornings, a few evenings, and select weekends which allows me to provide consistent attention and flexible scheduling for clients. Because I prioritize quality care and reliability, I carefully manage my schedule to make sure each pet receives plenty of time, attention, exercise, and communication while in my care. believe every dog is different, so I focus heavily on each pet’s individual needs, personality, comfort level, and routine. Some dogs need lots of exercise and enrichment, while others need a calmer environment, patience, or extra reassurance while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client’s home or my own, I take time to learn their feeding schedule, potty routine, energy level, favorite activities, training expectations, and anything that helps them feel comfortable and secure. I adjust my care style based on the individual dog rather than taking a “one size fits all” approach. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, understood, and cared for while maintaining as much consistency and routine as possible.

FAQs for House Sitting - Burr Oak

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 141 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Burr Oak. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burr Oak walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burr Oak maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burr Oak choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
