About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and over 40 years of hands-on pet care experience. I’m very comfortable with large breeds and currently own a German Shepherd, so I understand the structure, exercise, and consistency they need. I’m also experienced with puppies, seniors, feeding routines, and daily care. One of the main reasons I do pet care is because I know how hard it can be to find someone who truly works around a real schedule. Many sitters expect dogs to be done for the night far too early, which simply doesn’t work for most households. I believe dogs should be let out when they actually need to go — including later evening potty breaks. Now retired, I have the flexibility to design drop-ins around your dog’s normal routine, whether that’s meals, walks, playtime, or letting them out between 9–10pm. I treat every pet like my own and focus on calm, dependable, loving care so you can leave with peace of mind. I’m retired and have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets the time and attention they deserve. Because I’m not rushing between commitments, I can accommodate early mornings, later evenings, and customized routines for meals, walks, and potty breaks. Pet care fits naturally into my daily life, and I truly enjoy spending time with animals. My goal is to make sure your pet’s routine stays as normal and stress-free as possible while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I carefully follow all instructions and take time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and needs. I’m experienced with large breeds, puppies, seniors, and pets who need consistency and structure. In your home, I’m respectful, reliable, and attentive. I make sure doors and gates are secure, routines are followed carefully, and pets are never rushed. I’m happy to provide updates during visits so you know your pet is doing well. If requested, I’m also happy to bring in mail or packages during visits, which can be helpful while you’re away. Being retired allows me to be fully present and attentive, so both your pet and your home are well cared for.

About: Life long animal lover and pet parent, who recognizes that our furry friends are our family and deserve the best care and consideration! I've taken care of animals since I was kiddo, and currently share a roof with three cats and one pup. Friends, family, former employers, and my very own animals trust me to watch, walk, feed, water, groom (brushing, bathing, trimming nails) and lavish their cats and dogs with attention. My availability varies, as I work in the Events field, but I am ready and interested to take on regular weekday workday (9-5) walking duties with your pups! As a guest in your home, I will show your space and family the utmost respect. Being invited into your family's space is a privilege.

About: I have taken care of pets and houses for friends and family on many occasions and would love to care for your pets while you’re away. About: Hi, I'm Hannah! I am reliable, trustworthy, honest, and will treat your pets with the very best of care. I have been petsitting all throughout high school to make a side income, and am now trying to help pay my way through college by housesitting and other odd jobs. For my entire childhood, I took care of my family's farm animals (chickens, cows, horses, cats, and dogs) so I am well versed and comfortable with any type of animal. I have experience with Border Collies, Standard Poodles, and Dachshunds, as well as many other breeds. Please let me know if you have any questions or inquiries! I look forward to the opportunity to meet your pups! I have seasonal work that usually ends mid June and resumes in August. During the summer, I have the most flexibility, due to college courses and assignments to work around. Work (i.e. your pets) is the most important thing to me, so I can definitely account for your schedule and find the system that fits us both the best. My family recently rescued an unruly Bernedoodle puppy, so to prevent any unwanted conflict, I only care for pets in their home during this time. Dogs are usually more comfortable and less stressed in their own surroundings, so until they get used to me, I feel this is best.
“They were patient with us even though we forgot to give them the door code before they arrived, and they stayed longer than we booked to make sure everyone was happy and comfortable! Will definitely book again”

“Selena was able to watch my cat with only three days notice. My regular sitter canceled at the last minute before my vacation. My cat was happy and healthy when I returned home. The feeding schedules were a little different than he was used to because we were squeezed in at the last minute.”

About: My family has always had animals and we couldn’t live without them. I’ve always been the biggest animal lover 🖤🐾 no matter the size or breed, I’ll treat them like I would my own! My current schedule is flexible. I am always wanting to help others and I’ve been successful with making plans that work best for me and my clients needs. I prioritize my own health so daily walking and playing with your fur babies will be enjoyable for the both of us! 🥰 I am a nurse first but if I didn’t take care of humans for a living, I’d take care of pets without a doubt. I am patient, honest, gentle, and trustworthy. I’ve never met an animal who didn’t gravitate towards me. You can rely on me to get the job done.

- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
