“A star sitter for sure! Kristie took great care of my pup over a long weekend! She was a natural at bonding with my super shy puppy and was even willing and able to help train her. She kept good communications up for every visit so I had peace of mind that my dog was in good hands and administered her meds on the day she needed it. She brought over some good lookin cookie treats and gave my pup a new favorite toy! Kristie also took care of my chickens and I when I came home, my place was left in way better shape than I left it! She went above and beyond for sure and she was also super cool and fun to chat with! I will definitely call Kristie next time I need help with my pup!”

“Miraya was great! She had to look after my 3 dogs, 2 of which she just met and 1 of them usually takes a bit to get used to people but he loved her right away! She keeps me posted promptly with her visits and even fed my fish this time 😃”

“Oakley and Brody received excellent care from Bo! Reliable, attentive, and treated them like family. Regular updates provided peace of mind, and it was clear they were comfortable and well cared for. Finding a trustworthy sitter is invaluable—highly recommend!”

“Erika did an amazing job. She made sure both of my dogs were walked, feed, had water and had time to run and play. She even got Isabelle to walk, sit with her and her son which is amazing taking into consideration her doggie trauma before I became her person. Lola had all the attention she needed and I am so glad I picked her to be our family’s Dog sitter and now friend.”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals of all kind since I was 10 years old. Neighbors, family, and friends have trusted me to pet sit, play, walk, feed, give medication, and care for their animals throughout the years. I was raised with cats, dogs, and other animals my entire life and I now have 2 high energy spoiled dogs of my own. I just recently relocated to the area and became a stay at home dog mom. My availability is very open and flexible. I want to extend my love and care to your pets so that you don’t have to worry. I have pet sit multiple times making sure to show the pet love and attention, making sure food and water is available to them and if the pet is in need of medication I also have experience in how to safely and calmly administer the medication. I am also experienced in crating animals. I take my own dogs on daily walks. I work with them on not pulling, allowing them plenty of time to sniff and keep my head on a swivel of other people, animals, or anything that could be a trigger to them. I have experiences with dogs that may be more on the shy and introverted side, I work to encouraging them and show them that the world is not so scary.

“He is an awesome pet sitter! He was on point with everything, maintained communication with me every time I asked him how my dog was doing. My baby loved him, he took her for walks, gave her treats, and had some fun playtime with her. I would 100% recommend, this was an emergency trip and he replied to me within a few minutes, will definitely book with him again if I need it.”

About: Hello!!! I love animals I’ve had cats and dogs growing up my whole life so I’m pretty familiar with their care! I know how frustrating it is having to ask someone u know to put a stop in their day to help u out but sometimes it’s better to stress free and just hire someone who will devote their time to ur loved ones 💝💝 Im pretty much free availability for right now due to being laid off so anything can work, for the time being. As per overnight stays or just checking in during the day I would love to make sure their bathroom areas are clean and well kept, their food and water always being fresh and making sure nothing is out of the ordinary
“Paulina is an excellent sitter who treated our kitties like her own. I was very impressed that my super shy and anxious kitty who definitely growled in the beginning grew out of her shell to come out of hiding and interact with Paulina. She was very kind, responsive, and gave lots of love to both my cats.”

“Sean was awesome. They played and took walks and from all the pictures and notes I could tell my dog and him were having a great time. I was always kept up to date with any changes. I will definitely use Sean again.”

“Alyssa has been our sitter every time we've needed someone. She is always amazing and reliable! Our dogs are neurotic and needy so we love that Alyssa is so great with them.”

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
