About: Hi, I’m Aly! My house was never empty growing up—I was raised in a home full of cats, which taught me how to respect and care for even the pickiest feline personalities. At the same time, I’ve always been the go-to dog walker for my friends and family, and I've recently taken that passion professional. Currently, I’m active on Wag!, where I’ve completed multiple successful walks and have already secured a repeat client who trusts me with their dog’s daily exercise. I’m excited to expand to Rover to offer that same high level of care to both dog and cat owners in the Tuscaloosa area! As a flexible independent worker, my schedule is my own, which means I can easily prioritize your pet’s routine! Whether it’s a mid-day check-in or a last-minute visit, I have the freedom to be there when you can’t. When I’m not hanging out with your pets, you’ll usually find me curled up with a book or learning a new skill. Since I value a calm and relaxed environment, I’m the perfect match for your pet who enjoy a peaceful presence or a quiet companion to sit with them while they nap. I focus on providing personalized care that matches your pet’s unique energy level. Whether I’m visiting for a drop-in or staying overnight, my priority is maintaining the routine that makes them feel safe and happy.
“Jake took such great care of my pets! He was able to handle my cat, senior dog and our puppies, was such a lifesaver while I was out of town. The pictures he took are so cute too, would definitely recommend Jake watching your pets, he treated them with a lot of care.”

“Cameron did a great job of taking care of my little buddy! Did exactly what was asked and I came home to a happy dog! Will definitely use Cameron again the next time I need someone to take care of Max!”

“So impressed! Sitter arrives when she says she will and stays long enough to not only complete jobs, but also spends quality time with our feline “children”!! The photos and Rover Card are a definite plus!!! Thank you so much!!!!”

“Abby was absolutely amazing at caring for my kitty, who was recovering from an UTI, over the holiday break. I was gone multiple weeks and she made sure my kitty was well fed, spoiled with catnip, and given love. She also went absolutely above and beyond while maintaining our clean litter box and even vacuumed when my kitty tracked litter out. She sent adorable photos every visit and I truly felt my cat was in great hands. My baby didn't even have a stress UTI when I returned home, which I credit all to Abby dropping in and making my cat feel safe while I was away. I will definitely use her again when I travel and highly recommend her to anyone needing care.”

“Mallory was fantastic. I needed a last minute drop in and she was able to come do the meet/greet and two days of drop ins all within about 24 hours notice. Pictures were uploaded as requested and definitely will be using her on the future.”

About: I have taken care of my dogs and cats since I was physically able to. I have always had a strong love for pets and never had a hard time adjusting when my parents would get us new ones. There was a point in time where i had 7 pets in the house! I absolutely adore animals and have been hired by friends and family to house/pet sit while they are away since i was able to drive. Im currently student at the University of Alabama. So I have lots of free time to care for your pets. I’m free before 2 pm every weekday and every 5 pm every weekday. I care for pets in their own home where they feel most comfortable. I stick to their normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and lots of attention, so they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away.
“Annika is absolutely fabulous! She was punctual, enthusiastic, uber communicative with terrific pictures/updates/videos, and totally understanding and respectful of all of our requests and our home. There just aren't enough words to describe how wonderful she is and how happy we are with how she cared for our kitty - she totally related to the varying personalities of our little man! Our home was spotless when we returned, and we will definitely be booking her again!”

“Madison attended to my lab as requested. She called asap when not finding her food that I accidentally left locked up. She promptly purchased her some food, in which I reimbursed her on, when I returned.”

About: I have had dogs and cats my whole life. I love animals so much they are family, I have a golden retriever and a great Bernice mountain dog. I am good with big and small dogs. I also have owned cats and know how to take care of them! I know how to walk, bath, feed, and make animals feel safe and loved. I am a student at the university of Alabama. I have class from 9 to 1 but after that I am free. I can also go before class and on the weekends I am available! Animals are so important so I would make time to let them out walk and take care of with my class schedule. I can play with dogs in the yard or in the house. Go on long or short walks based on the weather. Keep them company so they don’t feel alone and make sure they feel loved and cared for at their home.
“April was great to work with. She reassured us that our cat would be well taken care of while we were out of town, and she sent photos and videos during each visit, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. We would absolutely trust her to pet sit again anytime.”

About: I have had dogs and cats most of my life. I have also had horses and rabbits. I can handle both big and small dogs. I have a dog named Penny. I work a regular full time job from 8-5. But I am available to check on pets in the evening and weekends. I love animals. I have a medium sized dog named Penny who lives in my apartment with me. About: I’ve been caring for dogs for around four years and have experience with a variety of breeds, including dachshunds, Labradoodles, beagles, and labs. I’m also comfortable caring for dogs at every stage of life, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who may need a little extra patience and attention. I was also a dog mom to my Boston terrier for 15 years before she passed away in 2023, so I understand firsthand how much our pets truly become part of the family. Having her from puppyhood through her senior years gave me experience adapting to a dog’s changing needs as they age. When your dog is in my care, my goal is to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and treated just like I would want my own dog to be treated. I’m a teacher during the day, so I’m available for pet care in the evenings and at night during the week, making my schedule a great fit for pet parents who work late or overnight shifts. Whether your pup needs an evening walk, some playtime, or a check-in while you’re at work, I’m happy to help! My weekends are much more flexible, so I have greater availability throughout the day for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. I provide care in my clients’ homes, where pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. I understand that every dog has different needs, so I’ll follow any instructions you provide for feeding, walks, potty breaks, medications, playtime, and bedtime routines. I’m also happy to spend extra time playing, giving belly rubs, or simply keeping them company if that’s what makes them happiest! I’ll treat your home with the same care and respect I would expect someone to show mine, and I’ll make sure you receive updates and pictures so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

“Mallory is amazing. I have a very shy and fearful dog. She’s taken the time to get to know her and works at her speed ensuring that all her needs are met while I’m at work/away. She communicates very well with me. She even came by and picked up my dog while I was at work to keep her safe when there was a tornado watch. She knew my dog was alone and I don’t have family nearby. She was there within minutes to get her. Of course she checked with me first, but Mallory put my dog’s safety first and I can’t thank her enough for that. She’s very considerate and works hard to meet everyone’s needs. Even if she’s busy and I ask her to stop by she’ll figure out a way to fit my request in her schedule. She’s excellent and I highly recommend her.”

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brookwood. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
