About: I currently have a senior dog and a cat that I treat as family. I’m experienced in administering medication and dealing with senior dogs, but I love dogs of all ages! I work from home full time during the week and have a part-time job every once in a while on the weekends, but will update my calendar to reflect that, usually available anytime. I have a fenced yard and live on a nice street for walks. I have a 11 year-old boxer/husky/pit mix, she is blind so she takes a little while to get used to other dogs. Because of this I will keep her separate in her own room while your pet is here. Your pet will be safe and will have space to roam around without having to share space with my dog unless they want to. I have an 9 year-old cat too, he is pretty chill, and he usually just hangs out in his own spots. He is used to being around dogs so he’s not bothered by them. I always make sure to feed all animals separately in their own room to prevent food jealousy and there are plenty of filtered water stations around the house for them to get easy access to water.

About: About me : I have loved animals my whole life . Dogs , cats , horses even rats . I have owned them or actually they have owned my heart, my whole life . I have taken care of pets for the last 30 years . I have two dogs and a cat of my own . I have used the services of local teenagers and family to care for my own pets when we are on vacation. But it’s nice to have vetted people taking care of your precious babies . I will care for them as best I can , although they will miss you for sure . I would be happy to send pictures via texts or emails of their antics during the day. I also work at the humane society here in Brookings. So I am used to all kinds of dogs ❤️

Coreen M. took great care of my aging dog, Cooper on his walks, keeping me posted with pictures, etc.. She was able to accommodate my schedule on short notice. I am from out of town and work remotely in software development and had an unexpected deadline this week at work and needed help so Coreen came to the rescue and drove over to Harris Beach Campground where we were staying to walk Cooper for me so he wasn't stuck inside all day with me. Thank you again. We'll be back again middle of October and will use Rover to book Coreen again. Patti Groover

About: I have been caring for many animals since I was young, I love walking playing, hiking and just hanging out with them. I have some practice training puppies but am not certified. I always like to let older dogs go at their own pace and smell all the good sniff spots. I currently work at my own pace from home so I’m available most days and most times. I usually like to get a couple miles in walking per day and don’t mind being out in bad weather either. I can provide care in your home, or outside your home at parks, walks and hikes. As needed or based on your personal preference taking into account your pets needs.

I was very impressed with Aubrey's kindness when meeting my dog. She took my dog for a long walk, then ensured he had water as soon as he was home! She was punctual and professional. I will definitely be using her services again!

About: I love animals. Yes. I know it’s cliche but I do. Animals require patience, love and LOTS OF TREATS, if okayed by their owners of course. I specialized in taking care of dogs that are wheelchair bound, require insulin, have dementia, and so on. There is no fur baby “to much” for me. My goal is to make sure any fur baby under my care feels safe, cared for and loved. By doing so, the fur babies owners can enjoy their time away without all the anxieties that come along with leaving them behind. I’m currently taking a break from the 9-5 gig so my schedule is pretty open for any days, nights and holidays. My schedule will very on my clients needs. I currently live in a home across for the beach. The animals will mainly be inside and let to play and go potty. They’ll never be left unattended. My goal is to get a full understanding of their daily routine and make sure to follow it to the best of my ability. Again, my number one goal is to take the stress of a stranger caring for them away during their parents absence.

Amber is so wonderful! She is always professional and caring and prompt! I have hurt my knee and she helped me out greatly today by walking my dear pups. She was very responsive to the needs of each dog and their walking habits--I appreciate her time and care she gives to them!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
