“Farrin was wonderful with our two dogs and cat. They took to her right away! She was on time, followed our instructions, sent daily messages, and left the house in good and clean condition. Highly recommend!”

“We had an excellent experience with Hailey. From the moment we met, she was professional, friendly, and clearly passionate about animals. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Our pets were happy, well cared for, and comfortable throughout the stay. It was obvious that they received plenty of attention, affection, and excellent care. Communication was prompt and reliable, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. I highly recommend Hailey to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. We would absolutely book with her again!”

“Trinity took wonderful care of our pups! We had a last minute vacation and she was able to come do a meet and greet within a day of us leaving. Our dogs were well cared for and we are very thankful for her quick response and wonderful care!”

“April was great! Great communication, easy to work with, always on time, accommodating on schedule/making adjustments I needed for my trip and up front about her schedule and conflicts she had, which she helped me with. Dogs adored her and were at ease during the first meet and weren't stressed when I got home. Will book again and recommend!”

“Chelsea D. Was super easy to talk to. She offered a meet and greet. That was perfect, she spent time to get to know the doggies and their needs. She arrived early on the day she set for our fur babies, that relieved us from stress. She’s a natural with pets with separation anxiety! When we arrived back home our one lil man that has separation anxiety showed no signs of stress, that was so comforting to us. The other two were very happy also. Looks like all 3 have a new friend. We will most definitely use Chelsea D. again! Thank you for sitting our babies!”

“We are very grateful to Autumn for staying overnight at our house taking good care of our dog Goose. Before the stay, she was quick to respond to questions and during the stay kept me updated on how he was doing. We will definitely book Autumn for future occasions when we need care for Goose.”

About: Growing up in a house with a variety of pets taught me that animals aren't just pets—they're family. With a psychology background, I use positive reinforcement to bring out the best in every dog. I'm currently caring for my two middle-aged and senior dogs who need 10 daily medications, so I understand both puppy energy and gentle senior care. As a fellow pet parent and nature lover, I know how important it is to find someone who truly gets it. Your dog will get the same love and attention mine do—because that's what they deserve. I recently left my corporate job to seek a healthier lifestyle. I am in the process of building a business which gives me lots of flexibility to care for your dogs needs at any hour. Early mornings, mid-day, late evenings and even overnight! Just reach out and we will make it work! Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities in their own familiar environment. I keep your home secure with doors and windows properly locked, and I'm mindful of any specific safety concerns you've mentioned about your pet or property. I stick to your pet's exact routine—feeding times, walks, medications, everything—because I know staying consistent helps them feel secure when you're away. It's just me giving your furry friend the one-on-one attention they deserve in the comfort of their own space. I treat your home with the same respect I'd want for mine. I'll handle small tasks like watering plants or bringing in mail, and I always leave everything exactly as I found it. You'll get regular photo updates so you can see your pet is happy and relaxed at home. With experience caring for my two senior dogs who need daily medications and close monitoring, I know how to spot when something's off with a pet's behavior or health. If any concerns come up, I'll contact you right away. Your pet gets the same attentive, loving care I give my own-because home is where they're most comfortable.
About: I have been around dogs my entire life and have been a proud dog owner since I was a young kid. I know exactly what it takes to keep a pup happy and healthy. In addition to raising my own dogs, I have extensive experience caring for others' pets. I regularly host family friends' dogs, have completed overnight house sittings (including 3+ night stays), and frequently manage dog walking schedules. Because my own dog at home prefers to be an 'only child,' I do not offer boarding at my house—meaning your dog gets 100% of my attention right in the comfort of their own familiar environment. (Please note: I do not care for cats due to allergies!). I am a recent college graduate spending my summer strictly focused on studying for my medical school entrance exams. Because my entire schedule consists of independent laptop study, I treat house sitting as my personal, quiet study retreat. Your dog will be my primary focus! I love using my study breaks to get outside, stretch my legs, and take your pup for long, refreshing walks. I am home for the vast majority of the day, making my schedule flexible and reliable. I know how important it is to feel secure leaving your home and pet in someone else's hands. I am clean, quiet, and extremely respectful of your space. While watching your pup, I follow their exact routine down to the letter to keep their stress levels low. I maintain an eagle-eye view on safety during walks, keeping dogs securely on-leash and away from unknown animals. Plus, I love sending regular photo and text updates so you have total peace of mind while you're away!
About: I've grown up with dogs my whole life. When I was 12, my family and I started volunteering at dog shelters and fostering for them. Now, I have 2 dogs myself and I help take care of my neighbors dogs all the time. I do go to school during the week, but I do have a couple of hours in between my classes so I can go and check on the dogs. I also get out around 3 everyday but Friday. Friday I get out around 10 so I'll be able to spend more time with the dogs then. I have a fenced in dog with friendly dogs if your baby needs someone to play with. I can also easily crate a dog if needed. I can help make any schedule your dog needs work too!
“Ragan was great as always. Especially with a last minute trip. I know Siggy boy is in great hands with her. Probably with mentioning the place is always clean when we get back, too. Thank you so much Ragan!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Brockroad
Erin house sat for our three dogs for a week and I couldn’t be more grateful for her care and attention to them! We got daily updates and pictures and you could tell they were very happy and well cared for. I am so happy we found her and will definitely use her again in the future.

Shannon took amazing care of our two dogs while we were out of town. She kept me updated with pictures and videos of their hang outs and was amazingly communicative. Talk about a no stress arrangement. I cannot recommend her more highly as a dog sitter! I suspect our dogs are disappointed that we're back, honestly.

FAQs for House Sitting - Brockroad
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 781 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brockroad. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brockroad walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brockroad maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brockroad choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brockroad. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
