“Natalie was absolutely wonderful with Rosie! At the last minute I realized I would need care for her for a month and was stressed. We met Natalie and some of her family and another animal there. It was a relaxed visit and we agreed she would watch Rosie. Natalie sent photos regularly and told me what she was doing each day. Her walks were long because this girl loves to sniff - everything! Rosie became Natalie’s “shadow”. I feel so lucky that Natalie was available for the long stay and would definitely use her again if I need a dog sitter! She comes highly recommended by me!”

“Finding someone that you can trust that will care for and love your fur baby as you do can be challenging. We were able to find someone and more in Robin. From the moment we started taking to the meet and greet to leaving Remy with her for a few days was fantastic. Her communication was excellent and fast right from the beginning. We weren't gone long before she was already sending pictures which is something we said we would take any time.. throughout our few days away we received many updates and pictures and from the pictures we could see that Remy was very happy and being cared and loved just as we do. Robin's compassion to take care of and spend time with animals is very clear. Remy even seemed a little sad after we picked him up and brought him home like he missed her and her fun dog Stella. We can't recommend Robin enough and we will definitely be using again!”

“Breanna was a great host for our lab Bailey while my family and I were out of town for a week. We received regular updates on how Bailey was doing throughout the week, with images that highlighted that my dog was having a great time. I will rebook with Breanna again, and would recommend her without any reservations.”

“Molly took our dog and guinea pig for ten days while we were out of town. It was the first time we have ever left our pets with a "stranger". Molly instantly put us at ease when we met her and our dog and hers quickly bonded. What's more is that our pup seemed to be looking for her playmates when she got home, almost sad to have left them behind! Thank you so much Molly for caring for our babies while we were gone - we will definitely be coming back to you in the future. :)”

“We were SO fortunate to find Lindsay when we found ourselves in a last minute pet sitter plan bind. We chose Lindsay based on her profile. We definitely made the right choice. Lindsay is professional and communicative. She really knows dogs. Best of all, our goldendoodle Teddy had a great time at Lindsay’s! My hesitation about leaving him with a stranger was completely unfounded. Though this first time Lindsay was a last minute choice due to other plans falling through, we would not hesitate to make Lindsay our first choice in the future. Teddy would agree!”

“Wendy provided a loving home for our pup, Freddy, during extended travel for our family. Wendy's dog Elka was an instant friend to Freddy and knowing that he was safe, busy and receiving wonderful care took away a lot of anxiety. We look forward to Freddy staying with Wendy again in the future.”

“We left our 15 lb Yorkie in the care of Elizabeth for three nights and were very pleased with the care she provided. He has special dietary requirements as he has colitis and Elizabeth fed him exactly as needed and he came home healthy and happy as could be. She sent us pictures of him every day out walking and in the house and he looked like he was having a ball. Either way I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her or use her again to look out for our dog while we are out of town.”

“Phoebe had a wonderful time staying with Pat. She played and played and played. Pat has a really good arrangement where the dogs can hang out freely downstairs and have access to a fully enclosed yard with a tall and secure fence. Recommended! Thanks Pat.”

About: I'm an experienced doggy foster, boarding more than 10 new-to-Maine rescues last year before adopting a sweet little pup of my own. As a new dog parent, I know how difficult it can be to find reliable, affordable, overnight care - plus a place my pup will actually enjoy! I routinely pet-sit for friends, and joined Rover to continue expanding my dog's social circle (she *loves* other dogs) while earning supplementary income. My pup, Marcy, is a 1-year old blackmouth cur. She's a regular at the dog park and very well socialized across a range of doggy personalities. I have a safe, calm house with a fenced-in yard. I also work remotely, meaning your dog would have lots of attention and a watchful eye. Although I'm primarily listing my offering as dog boarding at my home, Marcy and I are flexibile so long as there is reliable internet. So please reach out if you prefer boarding at your home instead. Note that Marcy is gentle not prey driven, though she's only been introduced to one cat. If you have kitties, let's do a meet-n-greet to ensure it's a good fit. Reach out with any questions! I work at home, with flexibility around meetings for walks, dog park trips, and potty/training breaks. I’m available to pet sit any day of the week. At my home: I have a 4 ft fenced-in yard for play time, which turns into an at-home dog park when Marcy has a visitor. Note that the fence isn't foolproof for an escape artist or high jumper. Dogs are allowed throughout the house and on couches, if they choose. Sleeping arrangements are flexible, especially knowing visiting pups can sometimes feel more comfortable sleeping in bed with a human. Marcy is crate-trained, and I have a large crate in case your pup needs a designated safe space.
“Alyx was wonderful to work with and we are very happy we found her! She was easy to communicate with and kept us updated on Lucy's stay with messages and pictures. We were nervous leaving Lucy with a new sitter but feel confident that she was well cared for and given lots of one-on-one attention in her time with Alyx. We definitely recommend her!”
About: I’ve always grown up with a dog in my home. I have experience handling a variety breeds of all sizes, from a small 20lb Cairn Terrier to a 185lb Boerboel! I also have experience administering medication which included oral consumption as well as shots. I have been very reliable to my close family members and friends to take care of their dogs and cats when they are working or away on vacation! Aside from Rover’s guarantee , I am also separately insured to give you an extra ease of mind when choosing me for your sitting needs! Pricing: Please understand pricing is non-negotiable. Prices shown on Rover are accurate and up to date (as of March 2026). Initial pricing shown during search is a base rate - additional rates may apply depending on times/ animals that are needing care. An accurate quote will be provided after submitting a request. I do not offer discounts at this time, thank you for understanding! *Schedule update as of June 2026* House Sitting Requests: Please keep in mind that I am catering to repeat clients I have throughout the week day, as well as a part-time in person job! Depending on my schedule, I may not be at your home 24/7, however, I guarantee your pets won’t be alone longer than 6 hours at a time, unless stated otherwise. Please clearly state your pets needs, including the time and duration they can be alone - in the event other arrangements need to be made for mid day potty breaks. My coming and going schedule can likely be provided upon request. For clients who allow my partner to join me on my sittings (who is insured under my private sittings insurance), there is the ability to offer more frequent potty breaks as him and I typically work opposite schedules. No other guests/ friends/ family will ever join me during a dog sitting. Constant Care: Constant care is applied to any sitting that doesn’t allow me to leave for more than 4 hours of the day, per day. Constant care rates start at $200/ night (additional rates still apply) and increase based off of pet’s needs. Please understand this service may not always be available and interferes with ongoing mid day clients, as well as my availability for my other job. Price reflects alternative arrangements I need to make for existing clients. If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out! I currently only allow one family for boarding at a time. Prices reflect solo care and not having to worry about exposure to other dogs during their stay. I currently have one cat in the home - a 12 year old Maine Coon mix who is very relaxed and tends to mind her own business. Between my boyfriend and I, there is always someone on property, so potty breaks can be provided frequently!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, birds, and small animals for three years now. I also have experience with housesitting and babysitting. I work two 12 hour day shifts a week. I am currently working part time two 12 hour days. Dogs go out before I go to work and after. On my days off I am able to spend more time with them. I cannot offer pet sitting in my home at this time. I have three years of house/dog sitting experience as well as cats. I am able to stay at the clients place as needed for pet care.
“Gael and Bridget were amazing with Penny! She had a great weekend frolicking on the beach and playing with Selkie. We received daily updates with pictures and videos which helped make us feel comfortable leaving our pup with a new family. We feel very lucky we found them and would absolutely love to have her stay again!”

About: Currently I am between caregiving clients trying to decide what my next move is. I was born into an animal loving family, extended family, etc. I am 59 years old and have never been without at least a cat or two. I've also had 2 of my own dogs since 2005. My last senior dog passed the rainbow bridge in 2024. Born in Connecticut, lived for 45 years in Maryland and now I am living in Maine where I love it! One reason I fell in love with Maine is you can bring your dog almost anywhere here. They are a pet loving no-kill state! I have administered just about every kind of pet med out there. Every single pet has their own personality and I am very patient to learn that personality so we will become friends. I have a pretty open schedule with no real deadlines, so when ever your pets need walks, feeding, medications or just spend time with them, I am there. My own pets get feed twice a day. The time varies depending on my pet sitting schedule. But usually Its about 10am and 7pm. Whatever instructions left for me for a pet sit, I will follow to the letter. I will ask questions or text later to make sure I understand everything your pet needs. I've never run into an animal not liking me, but I am very aware of them not be comfortable with me at first. That can be stressful for them of course, so its very important that their care instructions are followed to keep them as anxiety free as possible.

“Melanie provided a safe, nurturing environment for our Lucy. She was warm and welcoming when we met, and clearly gave Lucy lots of love while she was in her care. She has a large yard for dogs to play. She sent me pictures every day, both of Lucy playing with the other dogs, as well as relaxing. I felt completely confident that Lucy was in the best of hands!”

About: I'm a work at home pet mom with a large yard, lots of toys, and a calm and welcoming house. I've always had large dogs from mixed breeds to Great Danes, but love and appreciate all types of well mannered dogs. My house sits well off the road, so its quiet and I hike or trail walk almost daily. I am adept at giving medicine, cleaning wounds and dealing with incontinent dogs, but I will only board dogs who are respectful of my cats. I am currently working from home on my own schedule. Boarded dogs who enjoy car rides can come with me on errands or outings. While each day may different, my activities will be built around the needs of the animals I am caretaking, especially if separation anxiety is an issue. I will care for your animals as per your instructions and the capabilities of your pet. I do not have a fenced in yard, but have installed a run line in the past. If a dog is used to being crated, receiving treats, or sleeping on the couch - no problem. Conversely, I don't give animals people food, and if you want your pets to stay off furniture I will strictly honor that as well. My house is small but open, so it is easy to keep an eye on them.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
