I previously worked at a no-kill shelter in Columbus, Ohio where I worked with dogs of all breeds and sizes. I am comfortable with many temperaments—I haven’t yet met an anxious dog who didn’t warm up to me quickly—but if your dog has any aggression issues, I am not comfortable accepting the request. If needed, I can administer oral medication; I do not have experience with needles. I am a non-smoker, non-drinker, who adapts quickly to new surroundings. About: Ever since I was a little girl I knew working with animals was what I wanted to do. I started with family members pets, then moved on to friends and friends of friends now I have lots of experience. I grew up on a farm, raising farm animals, participating in 4h, and racing horses. I’ve owned almost every small pet you could have while growing up. I take my care with animals extremely serious and I take pride in the exceptional care I can proved for animals. Pets have a huge soft spot in my heart and there is nothing more I’d rather do in life. I have experience with reptiles as well as administering medications. I usually like to do a visit before with pet owners to see if I’m a good match for them. Also, I will never take on more than one job at a time so I will always be able to give your pets my full time and attention. First off, I am a full time student at Ohio Northern University where I currently am apart of the Polar Paws program as a Secondary Trainer. This program allows college students to care for and train future service dogs. As a secondary trainer, I would work with various dogs on campus by training and sitting them while their primary caretaker is busy. Prior to university, I volunteered at the Van Wert County Humane Society where I worked with cats and dogs of all ages and all breeds. This consisted of walking the dogs, cleaning cages, cleaning litter boxes, playing with the animals, etc. Currently I am available anytime during the day and anytime of the week, until I update my availability when I need to go back to campus. I care for pets as if they are children. They need attention, respect, and when being babysat, a good time! That being said, in my own home they have access to their own food, water, play area, and have set potty breaks. In a clients home, the same will apply. Any alternative toys, medications, and food can be used most definitely if requested by client. Always a clean and tidy environment before and after.
