We’ve all done it—late night “what if” sessions spent scrolling through adoptable dogs and cats. In Alex Wildee’s case, she took that dream and made it a reality.
One night Alex was scrolling through online adoption site Petfinder looking at potential dogs to add to her family. She already had a rescue Catahoula leopard dog named Jersey, so Hannah, a two-year old Catahoula, caught her eye. Hannah shared Jersey’s beautiful spots, bat ears, and baby blues, and Alex was head over heels.
Alex emailed back and forth with Hannah’s shelter, but Hannah was in Texas and Alex lived in Colorado. Geography seemed destined to keep the two apart.
Alex continued her adoption search closer to home for weeks with no luck. Then the shelter in Texas called Alex back to let her know Hannah was still available, and she made up her mind. Alex rearranged her schedule and packed up Jersey for the 900 mile drive to Killeen, TX to finally meet Hannah in person.
The rest, as they say, is history. Hannah is thriving in her new home!
