If you want to enjoy a spectacular view while your pup plays with his doggy friends, you have found the place. Coronado Dog Beach is leash-free, year-round, 24 hours a day. Your furry friend can romp unfettered on the wide stretch of sand or in the salty surf.
You can run and splash, too, or sit back and enjoy the view. Marvel at the historic Victorian beach resort Hotel del Coronado just to south, or gaze at the skyline of Point Loma across the water.
This beach is a clean, well-kept haven for dogs and owners with a great hose-off station and free scoop bags at the entrance. The leash-free area is well marked and runs along Ocean Boulevard from Sunset Park to the border of the U.S. Naval Station.
Lots of parking is available on Ocean Boulevard, but be sure to clean up after your dog and keep him on a leash outside the limits of the leash-free area as steep fines are strictly enforced.
