Last week, a tiny Shih Tzu named Bailey slipped out of her yard during Portland‘s record snow storm. Bailey’s family was surprised to find the little homebody missing, and began a thorough search of the area.
The local vet, the Humane Society, and hundreds of flyers produced no results, however. The Hellebuycks were beginning to lose hope of finding Bailey alive and well.
In a final effort to find Bailey, the Hellebuycks hired search and rescue specialist Harry Oakes to scent track the little dog. Amazingly, in just 30 minutes, they found her—cold, miserable, and alive.
Lucky Bailey was found to be in good health by her vet, and is now safe at home.
