Three weeks ago, the Rover team hosted our first-ever meet up for Seattle Rover-ites at Magnuson Dog Park near the University District. In attendance were many fantastic Seattle dog sitters, dog lovers, dog boarders, dog treat makers … and most importantly, dogs dogs dogs!
With fearless Phil manning the BBQ, Mike and Greg roaming the off-leash area, and Farhad constructing a sophisticated fashion runway, we were ready to welcome Rover-ites to a sunny picnic shed near the water. We had a blast through the afternoon, getting to know lovely Lily, mammoth Microwave, giddy Gus, stoic Simba and cuddly Kody. J.P Andervard definitely made an impression with his lightening speed dashes, and Georgie Girl broke some hearts by giving out kisses so freely! The highlight of the afternoon, beyond the scrumptious dog treats and people treats of course, was the very fancy, very exclusive beauty pageant. Everyone who participated was absolutely stunning, and we were particularly impressed with our Rover pooches’ grace under pressure on the catwalk.
Please check out these fun photos of the afternoon; many thanks to our fearless photographer Tory Cobrea for her amazing pooch picture skills. Please check out the complete album on our Facebook page at facebook.com/aplaceforrover, and be sure to email us if you want the high-resolutions files. Vote for your favorite pooch photo by “liking” or “commenting”, because we will be crowing the favorite next week and sending pooch and owner a fantastic prize!
We are looking forward to seeing all of you dog lovers and dog sitters soon at our next event. This Sunday, September 25, we will be out supporting the Seattle Humane Society at the Walk for Animals. Stop by our booth to get a fun photo with your pup, enjoy some delicious pooch and people food, and spin a wheel of fortune to win some great prizes!
Thanks for coming out to Magnuson!
