Beaux the yellow Lab had a rough start in life. He was given away by his breeder due to his oddly-shaped head. Then his adoptive family left him outside for 5 years so that he wouldn’t bother their cats.
By the time a local rescue discovered him and stepped in on Beaux’s behalf, he was skin and bones, covered in fleas, and suffering from ear mites and heartworm. Not only that, but his complete lack of training or socialization made it hard for adopters to say yes.
Mom Jamie with Beaux and Riley
Lucky for Beaux, good Samaritan Jamie Hulit saw his photo on Facebook and knew she was the one to turn Beaux’s life around. Jamie picked him up and delivered him straight to Dr. Jay Rydberg at the Hoegemeyer Animal Clinic in Kerrville, TX, where it was touch and go for awhile. Thanks to their stellar care, Beaux got back on his feet and was ready to turn over a new leaf as an ‘inside dog.’
Turns out Beaux makes a great family pet. And once Beaux settled in, Jamie added another rescue to her family, Riley, an older golden retriever, who helped Beaux understand all the finer points of the inside dog life.
Beaux is also great with cats! Jamie has been fostering both cats and dogs and Beaux loves all his new friends.
You can donate in Beaux’s name to help more rescue dogs get the care and training they need to find their forever homes.
