Volunteer dog walkers are eager to take a dog along while they play the game, charity apps are donating money to shelters for walking a certain amount of steps, and shelters are seeing a big rise in adoptions.

Pokemon-savvy animal shelters are putting out calls for volunteers to take adoptable dogs on walks while they play Pokemon Go. Shelters have even set incense traps to attract Pokemon and issued maps of local Pokestops and Gyms to bring players and dogs together.
