Don’t let the cold weather keep you or your dog down! Chilly temperatures are an excellent reason to keep your dog cozy, warm, and dry in a stylish outer layer such as a winter dog coat or jacket. In this article, we review the Harding Pendleton dog coat, one of our top five picks for dog coats and jackets in 2020.
(See the full list here, complete with a video roundup, product specs, and purchasing information.)
For dressier occasions or jaunts out in the city, this trendy dog coat will keep your dog just warm enough until she’s home again and curling up with you.
Here’s our review.
(Note: This review is for the Harding Pendleton dog coat, which is pictured in the video, but erroneously titled the Rainier—which we also recommend! You can find the Rainier style here.)
Pendleton Harding Dog Coat
Nothing beats a Pendleton coat in one of the company’s iconic designs, and that goes for your dog, too.
This reversible, lightweight jacket features a soft, patterned polyester side and quilted, faux suede side. It’s machine washable and is easy to get on and off with wide velcro straps for her neck and belly.
Note: This coat is good as a basic warming layer, but isn’t waterproof. It’s designed with style and comfort in mind, but likely won’t stand up over time if you have a rowdy and energetic dog. We tested this in size small, and found it ran true to size (fit our shopping editor’s average-sized senior beagle perfectly).
As with any piece of dog clothing, be sure to measure your dog before ordering to determine the best fit. If you’re not sure where to start, check out our handy guide, How to Measure Your Dog for a Harness, Clothes, and Costumes.
