The holidays are a time of festivities and gratitude for our friends and family—both human and canine. So it follows that there’s never been a better time to give back and help out dogs in need.
This year, Rover.com is partnering with Pet Partners, an organization that trains and educates owners of therapy animals, connecting thousands of companion dogs and their handlers with programs in hospitals, veterans’ centers, and schools nationwide. For everyone who books a stay over the holidays, Rover and the Sit a Dog, Save a Life program will donate $1 to Pet Partners—up to one million dollars!
The program applies to all services of two days or more that take place between November 26 and December 31, 2016. So go ahead: find your dog’s other best friend on Rover.com and hit the road happy. Your dog will enjoy a sweet staycation, and therapy animals nationwide will be one step closer to improving the lives of their human handlers.
About the Sit a Dog, Save a Life Program
Rover’s Sit a Dog, Save a Life program helps sitters raise money for local dogs in need by donating a portion of their earnings to a nonprofit organization that helps dogs in their community.
Through this program, the Rover community enables sitters and owners to make a positive impact on the bond between people and their pets all year long. Throughout the holiday season, Rover will be lending an extra hand to one very special organization and sending along a gift of up to $1,000,000 to support the great work they do.
About Pet Partners
Founded on the belief that companion animals have a profound impact on human health, Pet Partners advocates, educates and demonstrates the power of the human-animal bond through life-enhancing initiatives such as their therapy animal program, which brings healing to millions of people including veterans, seniors, patients in recovery, and children facing difficult challenges.
Pet Partners provides the training needed for anyone to become a handler of a therapy animal. And it’s not just dogs: Pet Partners can register nine different species to become therapy animals.
Visit Pet Partners online to learn more about their organization and how to become a handler with your pet.
