We’ve seen corgi races and dachshund races, but this fun run for boxer dogs wearing boxer shorts truly takes the cake for silliest dog race of all time.
And they’re off!
In celebration of national dog day, the Remington Park Racetrack in Oklahoma played host to hundreds of dogs and their people.
Ready to race
Among the happy visitors, alumni from Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma came together for a special charity race, where folks could place donation “bets” for a chance to win a prize.
Costume contest winner
In addition to races, there were treats galore, a costume contest, a caricature artist, and even swimming pools set up to keep dogs cool during the event.
Looking good!
Proceeds from the event were donated to Ground Zero K9, a non-profit that trains and search and rescue dogs to help first responders in disaster situations.
