Veterinarians were planning a C-section for Cleo the Great Dane based on the 10-12 puppies that were expected, but when the team got down to business, the numbers had gone up. Vets at the Kingman Animal Hospital had 19 small-yet-healthy puppies on their hands!
Nineteen little pups that will grow up to be gentle giants
Cleo is going to have her work cut out for her just eating enough to feed all these babies.
That’s a heap of cuteness
The story has garnered so much attention that Cleo’s owner created a special Facebook page for Cleo and her miracle litter. This way, folks can follow their story as the babies grow up.
The largest litter on record with Guinness is 24 puppies, born to a Neopolitan Mastiff named Tia in 2004.
Congratulations, Cleo!
