Carolina Equine Rescue and Assistance has a unique therapist on staff— a sweet golden retriever named Molly. And while Molly brings her own brand of sunshine to all of her animal friends, she has a unique bond with her latest patient, a miniature horse named Sammy.
Sammy was brought to the rescue starving from a severe neglect situation. At “skin and bones,” he was terrified of everything and everyone. Fortunately, Molly got through to him.
Sammy and Molly go viral
Rescuer and dog mom Darlene Kindle told the News Observer, “Molly truly has an exceptional sense of knowing when one of the animals doesn’t feel good or sad. So she very gently introduces herself. This is her job and she is very good at it as you can see.”
Sammy and Molly out for a graze
Thanks to Sammy and Molly going viral, donations have been coming in from all over the world to help CERA continue their work rehabilitating and rehoming horses and ponies in need. You can donate via Facebook or stop by their website for more on adoption, donation, or sponsorship opportunities.
