Easy Savory Homemade Dog Treats
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Yield: 9 treats
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup carrots
- 2 strips bacon, finely chopped (optional…and delicious)
- 2 1/4 cups oat flour*
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F. Whisk together egg and chicken broth. Add finely shredded carrots and the optional bacon. Mix well. Add flour and mix into dough. Flour your work surface and roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into desired shape and place on a large baking sheet. Bake for 40 min, and let cool.
Oat flour is generally better for dogs than wheat flour, especially if your pet is facing food allergies or sensitivities. Pro tip: make sure the oat flour you purchase is labeled “gluten-free.” You can also make oat flour by pulsing gluten-free oats in your food processor.
